His After The Heartbreak (BL)-Chapter 31: Almost Caught
Chapter 31 - Almost Caught
Chapter 31 - Almost caught
Logan's POV
I still couldn't wrap my head around how my dad knew I had kissed someone. I was sure he had been busy with his laptop, going through whatever information he was digging up, like he always did. There was no way he could've seen me... right?
Unless...
A cold wave of dread rushed through me as I considered something far worse.
Had he heard Tyler's voice?
Had he seen Tyler's face?
My heart pounded so hard I thought it might crack my ribs. No. That couldn't be possible. I was careful. I always was. But then, if he didn't see Tyler, how the hell did he know?
Before I could spiral any further, his voice cut through my thoughts.
"And also, son," he said, closing his laptop and resting his elbow on the armrest. "I heard a guy's voice outside. That isn't your usual crowd. Few seconds later, you kissed someone."
I clenched my jaw.
"Who was the guy?"
Silence stretched between us as I stood frozen, unable to think of a single excuse.
Dad's lips curled into an amused smirk. "Why are you suddenly quiet, dear son?" he teased. "Or are you shy to tell Papa who you kissed?"
I snapped out of my daze. I needed to shut this down before he got too curious. "Wait a second, Dad." I crossed my arms, forcing an annoyed expression. "How the hell does my sex life concern you?"
Dad let out a low chuckle, shaking his head.
The last thing I needed was for him to suspect anything. He wasn't the type to accept... people like me. If he ever found out the truth—that I liked guys, that I had feelings for Tyler—he wouldn't just be disappointed. He would cut me off. From everything.
That was the kind of man he was.
And I wasn't ready for that. Not now.
Maybe one day. When I had my own money, my own life. When he couldn't take anything from me.

But not now.
"So now, you can't tell your old man about your sex life?" Dad mused, rubbing his chin.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not ready to talk about it yet, okay? When I am, I'll let you know."
Dad narrowed his eyes. "That's new."
"What is?"
"This sudden privacy," he said, leaning forward slightly. "I thought we were past that. I thought you were going to tell me everything if I asked?"
I exhaled through my nose. "Well, things change, Dad. Some things aren't for you to know."
Dad chuckled again, shaking his head. "You know it's not possible for your old man to keep his nose out of your business."
"Yeah, I noticed."
"I can take a little step back," he said. "But I can never keep my nose off. Your sex life is my priority."
I groaned. "That's the most disturbing thing you've ever said to me."
Dad smirked. "Is it?"
"Yes. And besides," I added, "if you focused on finding a new relationship the same way you're focused on my sex life, you'd be married by now."
His smirk faltered slightly. "Oh?"
"Yeah." I shrugged. "But instead of using your time to find the woman of your dreams, you spend it monitoring who I kiss and who I don't." I met his gaze, tilting my head. "If you keep this up, I'm going to get married and leave you all alone, and you'll die single and lonely."
Dad barked out a laugh. "What a touching speech."
"And another thing," I added, "you saying my sex life is your priority? That's so cringe. Please, get that thought out of your head and stop monitoring me."
Dad sighed, shaking his head. "Alright, alright. I'll back off... for now."
"Great."
"But I gotta say," he mused, eyeing me with curiosity, "you must really love this person."
I stiffened.
"For you to stop all the crap you used to do." He gestured at me. "You stopped flirting, sleeping around, using women for their bodies. Hell, you even came home early from a party."
I said nothing.
He continued. "The son I raised doesn't come home this early. And even if he does, he never comes alone."
I shot him a look.
"I applaud this person for making you change," he added, though his tone turned a little bitter. "Although, I have to say... I don't like this version of you. It's making you boring."
I scoffed. "Oh, I'm sorry. Did my lack of womanizing ruin your entertainment?"
Dad shrugged. "I just want you to enjoy your life to the fullest, son."
I crossed my arms. "As a father, you're supposed to teach me not to sleep with everyone and anybody. Instead, you're encouraging it. You're lucky you don't have a daughter, because if you did, she'd grow up listening to this garbage and end up disappointing you. And you'd blame her, even though you're the one who taught her."
Dad held up his hands. "Alright, alright, Professor Logan. I'm done with your lecture." He sighed dramatically, waving me off. "It's late. Go to sleep."
I exhaled in relief. Finally.
"Glad you said it," I muttered. "Goodnight, Dad."
I turned and started walking toward my room when his voice stopped me.
"Logan."
I closed my eyes, sighing. "What now?"
Dad smirked. "Declan's father's wedding is in three days. Be ready."
I arched a brow. "And?"
"We're leaving early. Declan wants me there."
I nodded. "Noted. Can I go now?"
"Yes, yes. Goodnight."
I barely took two steps before—
"Logan!"
I groaned, running a hand down my face. "Oh my God, Dad. Stop calling me!"
He chuckled. "Sorry, sorry. Last one, I promise."
I turned, exasperated. "Just say whatever it is."
Dad leaned back. "A lady named Alexis came by."
My stomach turned.
"She claimed to be your girlfriend," he continued, watching me closely. "Said you two had a little misunderstanding and that you're refusing to forgive her."
I clenched my fists. That little—
"What the hell was that whore doing here?" I snapped.
Dad frowned. "That's not how you talk about a woman."
"Sorry," I muttered. "But is she gone?"
"She left."
Good.
"She also said she hopes you'll forgive her," he added. "And that she expects to see you in school tomorrow so you can talk it out like reasonable adults."
I let out a short laugh. "Yeah, that's not happening."
Dad raised a brow. "Oh?"
"I don't go to school on Fridays," I said. "So, she can either talk to herself or to my empty chair."
Dad smirked. "Cold."
I shrugged. "There are plenty of other guys out there for her. She should pick one who suits her behavior, because I'm not interested."
Dad let out a chuckle. "Alright, alright. Now go. Before I think of something else to say."
