His Forsaken Luna-Chapter 158: City of Sol
When we next roused our small group was already readying breakfast and packing their stuff away. We’d somehow made it through a few rounds last night without making too much noise. Unfortunately, we couldn’t cover up other aspects that indicated we had been enjoying ourselves a few feet away from them.
Besides my hair being a little untamed and in need of a good brush, Eryx’s scent was all over me. I lavished in it. My wolf preened in it. As did Eryx. He smirked as he breathed me in, licking my mate mark on the back of my neck. I nipped his jaw before sitting up, noting my scent all over him too. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"Put your clothes on ya lovesick puppies," Kharis teased as he tossed our clothes at us. I was going to take a quick dip in the sea to freshen up but my mate’s wolf whined in my mind through the bond.
I caressed Eryx’s jaw comfortingly. "I will do no such thing then," I whisper and kiss his cheek. Eryx’s eyes gleamed like he wanted to take me right then and there but someone cleared their throat and we sighed, forcefully pulling ourselves away from each other. It took great effort.
Once dressed again we joined the others for breakfast, sitting down around the small fire in the shade. We ate quietly, each trying not to look at each other in case we might end up just lunging for one another. Clearly three rounds was not enough last night. It only seemed to make us more lustful.
I couldn’t complain though. It’s not as bad as when I was in heat. I would be more than willing to climb up my mate and-
Eryx cleared his throat. ’Careful, little mate. I might take you up on that offer and not mind taking you right here in front of everyone.’
My back straightened and I’m pretty sure I squeaked in response. He chuckled and kissed above my brow briefly before returning to his meal.
"Sleep well?" Salihn winked then burst into laughter as I felt my cheeks burn.
"Yes, I did," I managed to say, tilting my chin a little higher and pretending to act gracefully.
"Oh you’re so much fun," Salihn grinned, putting her arm over my shoulder. She was so much like Kharis this close up and I had a sneaky suspicion that Faidon had a little crush for her. It was the most attention he’d given any female even if it was just the occasional glance in her direction.
The she-wolf then wrinkled her nose and pulled her arm back. "Ugh no offence but you stink of our Alpha Prince." She tried to wipe her arm, looking disgusted.
I glanced at Eryx and watched him roll his eyes. It was the first time I’d seen a woman not find my mate attractive. There was no hint of anything more than familiarity, acting more like brother and sister than anything.
"Enough teasing, Salihn," Eryx said gruffly, putting a stop to her antics. I rested my head on Eryx’s shoulder and nuzzled him a little, so his scent was more on me. The flicker of irritation I felt down the bond dissipated, replaced with warmth as he stared down at me.
"Should we be off, Alpha?" Cohnal cleared his throat, his lips twitching into the smallest hint of a smile as he looked between me and Eryx. Instead of fear and whispers among these Weres I could only sense love and happiness. They teased us but it was clear they were happy to see their Alpha Prince find his mate and act well like how he had been with me.
Was my mate becoming a little soft?
His answering growl said otherwise. I stuck my tongue out at him playfully and his brow raised, giving me a warning look that meant I would pay for that later. The shiver that ran through my body was nothing more than lustful anticipation. We’d have to wait an entire day until then.

The day did actually go quickly. I watched as the landscape gradually changed again. We’d been heading towards the Southern mountains and the lands gradually turned greener with trees that Eryx told me were called palm trees and fig trees and many different types of trees that were so different to what I was used to in Ice and Claws. The sun still seemed to roast me but I wasn’t the only one panting by this point.
My wolf’s fur was a little damp and slick from sweat by the time a large city, the buildings made of sandstone. It looked far more opulent and looked far from being barbaric. Again, everything was so different to the North. Where the palace was surrounded by the forests, Sun and Fury’s palace was in the middle of this great city.
Palm trees and lush tropical leaved bushes split apart the mazes of pristine streets.
’Not what you were expecting huh?’ Kharis mind linked me.
I’d completely stopped, overlooking the city from the hill with the others. Eryx stood beside me, our warriors ahead and Salihn to my right.
’It’s like nothing I ever pictured,’ I murmured back. The other Weres looked at me then back at their home proudly.
’Welcome to the city of Sol,’ Eryx said proudly.
After taking a sip from the river that flowed down through the middle of the city and branched out. Bridges were built over the smaller streams. We ventured down after we’d caught our breath and looked reasonable. We decided to remain in our wolf forms until the palace. It was to keep the people in the dark about their future Alpha Queen’s appearance until the official announcement. It was clear who I was the moment we stepped through the gates.
Everyone bowed their heads in reverence to the Alpha Prince and many eyes fell on me. Our scents were mixed and our closeness at the back of our warriors indicated who I was to their Prince. Many bowed to me as well, whispering among each other. I could hear them question if I was the Northern Princess. Nobody insulted me or looked at me oddly.
They seemed to almost look at me in awe. I had to remind myself not to look around so warily and unused to such behaviour.
My golden-white fur and the crescent moon on my forehead made me stand out, besides the size difference between the Southern Weres and myself. It was unusual for a Northern Were to also be this small, but I did have some killer powers to back me up as well.
Killer.. Like how I killed Deyanira with some lightning... I shook my head from the memory. This was not the time or place. I suppressed it like I have been since waking up on that sledge. My priorities at the moment were to make it to the palace, leave a good impression as Eryx’s mate then think about this outrageous power that flickers occasionally within my veins.
Like unleashing them on Deyanira has now opened up the gates to the rest of them. My Fae powers had something to do with wielding lightning or a storm of some sort. Again I pushed aside my thoughts on the matter and focused on the present. The people looked both in awe and a little fear at Eryx’s large black wolf as we strode through the streets.
Most were in their human forms, the crowds bustling with life, vendors selling fruits, teas, spices and an array of objects and trinkets I’d never seen before. The buildings might be white and sandy but the stalls were vibrant with multitude of colours, the palm trees a back drop among what looked like the happiest people I’d ever seen.
Everyone was tanned, dark features, filled out either packed with muscles or just healthy. Nobody seemed to be suffering. Children laughed and played, their cheeks full and glistening.
This was what they’d been protecting all these centuries. The people here were thriving.
