His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 169: Open Your Mouth
In the past, every kiss between them was initiated by Ethan Sinclair.
This time, Kiana Sutton kissed Ethan Sinclair voluntarily. Ethan neither responded nor refused, leaving her unsure of what to do, extremely tense, with her heart nearly jumping out of her chest.
Ethan Sinclair’s mocking voice suddenly sounded, "Is this it? Is this how I usually kiss you?"
Kiana’s face instantly turned bright red.
She couldn’t understand what had agitated Ethan today, making him insist she kiss him first. But given such a good opportunity, she naturally wouldn’t let it slip away.
She imitated how Ethan usually acted, first tracing his lips with the tip of her tongue, then gently sucking on his soft lips.
Ethan’s eyes darkened, perhaps impatient for Kiana to continue following steps to kiss him. He grabbed Kiana’s chin, "Open your mouth."
His voice was deep and seductive, and Kiana was bewitched by him, obediently opening her mouth.
Then, Aiden Sinclair’s lips and tongue pressed down domineeringly, stealing the air from her mouth.
She was kissed into a daze, feeling the cool hand always touching her body; she trembled slightly and immediately pressed down his hand.
No, this is the living room. What if Chelsea Chapman walks out?
"Relax, Chelsea is perceptive enough not to disturb us!"
Kiana: "..."
After noticing his possessiveness over Kiana Sutton, Ethan Sinclair refrained from touching her for days.
Tonight, whether stimulated by Miles Goodman’s words or the effect of alcohol, seeing Kiana Sutton upon returning home, he wished for nothing else but to hug her tightly.
Having abstained for days, Ethan was like an untamed stallion, leading Kiana from the living room to the kitchen, drinking water, then hugging her back to the bathroom.
Throughout, Kiana remained on edge, fearful that Chelsea Chapman might stumble upon them both, unsure how she’d face her afterward.
Luckily, Chelsea must have been sleeping deeply, as she didn’t wake despite Ethan Sinclair causing such a commotion.
Actually, Chelsea had woken when Ethan returned. Just as she opened the door to check, she saw Ethan pressing Kiana onto the sofa and kissing her.
Not wanting to interrupt the two, she retreated to her room, nervously opened a romance film.
Silently playing a lemon spirit to someone else’s romance.
All night long, Kiana couldn’t close her eyes until the sky brightened, and only then did Ethan finally relent.
When Kiana awoke again, the side beside her was already empty.
She looked at the time; it was already eleven o’clock in the morning.
She quickly got up to prepare for work, spotting Ethan dressed on the living room sofa.
He still hadn’t left?
Ethan also spotted Kiana. She was evidently dressed as usual, in black professional attire, yet he suddenly wanted to tear off her clothes for some reason.
In that instant, Gavin Hale’s words flashed in his mind.
No matter how many times you sleep with her, you just want to pounce every time you see her!
Is this what liking someone is?
Ha...how could that be?
Other men think with their lower halves, but he doesn’t!
"Why are you standing there dumbly? Hurry up and eat breakfast!"
Kiana was slightly bewildered; was Ethan waiting for her?
There was no time to think further as she quickly went to the dining room for breakfast.
When both were leaving, Ethan remarked to Chelsea Chapman, "Get someone to replace the living room sofa later."
Chelsea didn’t initially react, "Huh? What’s wrong with the sofa?"
Ethan cast a meaningful glance at Kiana, "Someone complained it’s hard!"
Her face flushed instantly; she indeed found the sofa too hard and uncomfortable last night, but hadn’t expressed it, so how did he know?
Besides, if you’re going to change the sofa, why add that extra sentence!
Ahhhh, it’s so embarrassing.
Chelsea seemingly understood immediately and laughed lightly, covering her mouth, "Alright, I’ll have someone bring back a larger, softer sofa later."
Kiana: "..."
...
Returning to the company, Kiana felt everything last night and this morning was like a dream.
Why was Ethan Sinclair suddenly so gentle?
Was it perhaps out of anger, switching tactics, trying to persuade her to divorce by being kind?
Kiana didn’t dwell on it further, as the shareholder meeting began.
Whenever Nathan Lawson was around, she accompanied Ethan Sinclair to every meeting, only responsible for serving tea and water.
Unsure what they discussed today, when the meeting ended and everyone emerged, each looked grim.
Especially Marcus Sinclair, his displeasure clearly written on his face.
Quentin Sinclair was similarly affected.
Normally, every time Quentin saw Kiana, he’d tease her somewhat, yet today as he followed Marcus out, his face was extremely unsightly.
Once most people had exited, Kiana glanced toward the conference room; Ethan’s expression remained relatively calm.
By appearances, Ethan had indeed upset Marcus Sinclair and his son.
That was, in fact, the case.
The new railway project was something Marcus took over from Ethan Sinclair, but constructing a railway line demands 12 billion in funds.
Today, Marcus approached Ethan for money, Ethan citing Evercrest Group’s recent financial constraints and need to allocate funds to other projects, only provided 6 billion, insisting Marcus find ways to finance the remainder or seek investors.
As CEO of Evercrest Group, Ethan’s decision wasn’t wrong per se; the company has more than just the railway project, he must manage all company projects, not dump all funds into one.
Yet, Marcus felt Ethan simply intended to embarrass him.
Back in his office, Marcus flew into a rage.
"A snot-nosed young brat really thinks Evercrest Group is solely his, belonging to Ethan Sinclair? When the old man passed away, had I not been hospitalized, could his father have taken over the group? Now, when I need funds, I must endure his mood."
Quentin Sinclair seemed accustomed to Marcus’s outbursts, speaking calmly, "The priority is resolving the funding issue. I’ll later arrange meetings with various bank heads to see how much we can loan, finding other investors to fill any gaps should work."
"Patch? So what if we patch it together? The project’s under his thumb, future projects need to suppress frustration, do we take that forever?"
Quentin’s eyes subtly flickered, "So what does Dad suggest?"
"Hmph...though I initially considered our familial ties, if he lacks humanity, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
As he spoke, Marcus patted Quentin’s shoulder, "Quentin, remember that only atop the pyramid, can one disregard others’ sentiments. As my only son, everything I do now is for you."
Lowering his gaze, coldness flashed in Quentin’s eyes, "I’ll follow your lead."
