Chapter 120: Medusa

"Give me your address right now Gina!!"

"The woman is not human, she fixed the incarnation of Medusa."

"Get out of the house, Gina, just stay with me. You’re not safe living with them."

"This time it’s only your forehead that is torn, I don’t know what else that woman will do to you later."

Gina smiled at the chattering of Francia who was talking to her via video call, because she had discarded the previous sim card so that Gina could only contact Francia through a laptop like this. Luckily, Francia was still at home when Gina sent a message to her through Teresa’s cellphone, the maid who had just helped her change into dirty clothes, now Gina regrets her actions of throwing away her sim card just to avoid Massimo. Damn, really not worth the trouble now and Gina decided not to use the phone the man gave her.

"I’m fine, it’s just a small wound."

"You’re crazy, where there is a small wound until it is stitched. Come on, Gina, use your common sense, the house is not safe for your safety." Francia answered Gina’s words again quickly.

Gina took a deep breath. "I still have important things to do here, Francia."

"How important is that? What’s more important than your own life?"

"Why are you comparing it to my life? It’s terrible."

Francia ruffled her still wet hair. "Yes, you are stubborn, I told you earlier. If that woman dared to hurt you that badly right now, it is possible that in the future she will do even crazier things and you still want to hang around a crazy woman like that , hello!! Use your common sense, Gina. Fix, she is a cruel and evil stepmother like in fairy tales. But remember, excluding me. I am a kind and gentle stepmother to my husband’s daughter."

Gina laughed amused at her boss’s words, without Francia even speaking Gina knew that her boss was the perfect stepmother for Bela, Brandon’s only daughter with his late wife before marrying Francia.

"Don’t laugh, bastard. Talking to you really makes my energy run out quickly, don’t talk too much. Give me your home address, I’ll pick you up to move out of that hellish house," Francia said earnestly.

"No need. Really, I’m fine, Francia. I promise this is the first wound and the last wound that Vanessa can make for me, I will be more careful in the future."

"You swear?" Francia asked quickly.

Gina immediately raised her left hand up in line with her shoulder. "I swear, I won’t let that woman hurt me again in the future."

"Ok, you take your oath then. Just watch out if you break it."

Gina shook her head. "I won’t, believe me. You don’t have to worry."

After seeing Gina take the oath, Francia’s attitude seemed a little calmer, as a friend and superior, Francia didn’t want Gina to be treated like that. That’s why from the start she knew who the person who made the wound on Gina’s forehead which was quite severe was Francia’s emotions.

Because Francia and Brandon are leaving, Gina finally decides to end their conversation, until the end Gina still doesn’t want to answer Francia’s question asking why she stays at the Sanders family’s house even though she gets harsh treatment from Vanessa.

"There is one task that I have to do in this house, Francia. Even though I really hate him but he is still my grandfather, I have to take care of him until he recovers," Gina said softly as she closed her laptop.

Yohanes Sanders is the reason Gina is currently staying at her family’s house, seeing Yohanes Sanders’ oxygen hose accidentally folded a few days ago made Gina realize that someone wanted to harm him. That’s why Gina wants to find out who the person who wants her grandfather’s death is, Gina wants to know whether the person who wants to harm her grandfather is the same person who caused her grandmother to die or not.

Gina is sure that her grandmother’s death has something to do with the people in the house where she currently lives, considering that Barbara’s personal driver is a very thorough and neat person in taking care of the car. So it seems very unlikely that the driver had intentionally harmed the mistress, especially since the accident ended up making her a victim as well. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Thinking about her grandfather’s safety made Gina’s head hurt, it seemed she couldn’t think too hard at the moment.

"Grandma, mother, please take care of me from up there. I know you two have already met in heaven, that’s why I beg you to keep protecting me. I have to help Grandpa, there are evil people who want his death and as long as I’m alive I won’t let that happen." Gina spoke to herself while touching the pendant her grandmother gave her which was attached to her neck.

Gina must find out who the person with the evil intentions is, at least this is the only way to be filial to her grandfather as a granddaughter. At least with what she is doing now, her grandfather will know that her mother has educated her very well. Gina wants to show her grandfather that the child of the woman he hates is the one who saved his life. It sounded petty, but Gina wanted to do it right now so that the mother’s bad name would disappear from her stubborn grandfather’s mind.

Gina was just about to close her eyes when suddenly the door to her room was opened from the outside and her father and his wife who had put on a sad face came in, a hypocrite woman!

"How do you feel right now, honey? Does your forehead hurt?" asked Julian softly as he sat beside Gina.

Gina shook her head. "No, I’m fine. It’s just a minor wound anyway, so Daddy doesn’t have to worry. Isn’t that right, aunty?"

Gina deliberately threw a question to the stepmother, she wanted to see the evil woman’s expression at this time.

"What little wound?!" Julian immediately answered Gina’s words with a rising tone. "You’ve got five stitches, how many small wounds can you have that many stitches?"

Vanessa, who had prepared herself, immediately knelt beside Gina’s bed, right in front of Julian. "Yes dear, your wound is not a minor wound. You have to be careful to take care of it so that the stitches can heal quickly and in the future you have to be careful so that this kind of thing doesn’t happen again, Mommy has removed the table that made you injured far from the room too. I’m sorry, Mommy doesn’t know that you’re afraid of insects, next time Mommy won’t bring a flower vase filled with soil into the house again so you won’t be surprised again like before, Gina."

Gina immediately narrowed her eyes as she digested the words spoken by her stepmother, it didn’t take long for Gina to finally realize that her stepmother, named Medusa by Francia, had made up stories to cover up her crimes. Snake woman!

Gina’s thoughts were interrupted when Julian touched her hand. "You heard what Mommy said, honey? Next time you have to be careful, if you are really afraid of caterpillars and their friends you have to calm down and don’t panic anymore so that something like this doesn’t happen again. Tell Daddy, what animal are you afraid of or what food you don’t like so that all the servants can anticipate it and you too can be comfortable in this house."

"Animals I’m afraid of?" Gina mumbled softly repeating her father’s words.

"Yes," answered Julian firmly.

Gina pursed her lips, she slowly turned her gaze to the stepmother who was still continuing her cheesy act. "The only animal I’m afraid of is Medusa."

"What? Medusa? What is Medusa?" asked Julian, confused.

"Medusa is an evil character in Greek mythology who has snake hair," Gina answered quietly, smiling at Vanessa.

Vanessa, who understands where Gina’s conversation is going, looks angry, her eyes show a deep hatred for Gina at this time and Gina is happy that she finally saw the real face of her stepmother who had been hidden behind her mask.

Julian laughed amused at his daughter’s words, he who did not know anything immediately grabbed Gina’s hand and gripped it gently so that Gina looked back at her.

"You’ve been watching too many fantasy films like that, it seems, the main thing now is that you need to get plenty of rest. The stitches on your forehead are still wet, don’t let water get in them so the wound will dry quickly. Don’t worry, honey. Daddy will make sure the wound on your forehead is gone, Daddy won’t let you have a mark like that on your forehead. So don’t worry, okay, "Julian said earnestly.

"Yes Daddy, I understand."

"Yes, now you rest and don’t forget to take your medicine so the wound will dry quickly."

Gina nodded her head. "Yes Daddy, hmmm I want to ask something, can you Daddy?"

Julian’s eyes immediately lit up. "Of course you can, just tell me what you want? As long as Daddy can afford it Daddy will grant it." Julian is moved because Gina asked him something, the daughter he dumped for years finally gave him the opportunity to do his duty as a father.

"My phone is broken, can I have a new one?"

"A new phone?" asked Julian in surprise.

"Yes, can I have a new phone, Daddy?

Julian shook his head quickly. "You can’t, of course you can honey. Tell Daddy what kind of cell phone you want? The newest cell phone like yours? What color do you want? Daddy will buy it for you."

Gina smiled. "I don’t want anything like that, like my old cell phone is enough."

"No, you can’t. Daddy will buy you a new cell phone," said Julian excitedly. "Come on honey, let’s go to the mall. Accompany me to buy a new cell phone for Gina," said Julian again while gripping Vanessa’s hand excitedly.

Vanessa, who was holding back her emotions because she was called Medusa by Gina before, seemed surprised when her husband suddenly asked her to leave, but came back because Vanessa had been acting in front of Julian all her life, it was not difficult for her to return to normal behavior.

"O-ok, so when are we leaving?"

"Right now, I can’t bear to see Gina not having a cell phone. Cell phones are the most important things nowadays, especially for a girl," said Julian softly.

"Yes, you’re right, wait a minute, okay. I will prepare first," Vanessa said no less gently.

Julian smiled. "You don’t have to be pretty, you’re already beautiful."

Vanessa who just got up from the floor smiled broadly. "You are very good at seducing, watch your words in front of the children, dear."

Julian chuckled. "Yes, hurry up and prepare yourself, I’ll be waiting here."

"Ok, hold on. Gina, be patient, honey. Mommy will make sure you get the most advanced cell phone after this."

Gina smiled widely, showing a row of white teeth without making a sound. She is really fed up with her stepmother who turns out to be very good at acting, it seems that Gina is really dealing with the current real life version of Medusa which is certainly more dangerous than Medusa in the fairy tale world.

After his wife left Julian focused on Gina again, he lovingly touched her cheek. Gina inherited Sandra’s skin color and beauty that used to make Julian crazy, the Russian-English woman had managed to give him a daughter as beautiful as Gina was extraordinary and Julian was proud that Gina had grown up perfectly.

"Daddy promises to always make you happy, dear. So in the future please continue to depend on Daddy like this, let Daddy make up for all the moments that you went through alone since you were little, Daddy," said Julian seriously, his eyes filled with tears as he spoke. "You want to give that chance to Daddy, honey?"

"I-I..."

"Come on Julian, I’m ready." Vanessa who had finished preparing suddenly reappeared in front of Gina’s room without any guilt, that snake woman was really annoying.
