Chapter 301: Cool Uncle.

Arissa fixed an unblinking gaze on Geal as if she were mad at him for his choice of words. However, in the next second, she chuckled and began to laugh softly.

Nicklaus’s brows wiggled and Geal stopped laughing. He was surprised she took his joke to be funny and when both men stared at her with questions in their eyes, it made it look like she was crazy.

Arissa stopped laughing after a while. "What kind of uncle would you become?" she directed her question to Geal. Her voice was soft and her expression welcomed the conversation.

Geal’s eyes sparkled when she forwarded the conversation, "I’d be the very fun and cool uncle with no kids. I’d attend all of their birthday parties, fly them across the world, and get them the latest video games, as well as anything they wanted. Even the whole candies in the world if they want," his voice sounded eager like a ten-year-old boasting about his toys.

Arissa hummed and pouted, "You’re going to spoil my kids," she complained.

"Indeed," Geal smirked.

Arissa gave him a look of disapproval, "I won’t agree with you on the candies part. Also, do not try to get them anything they want," she warned.

Geal’s face fell, "Why so?"

Arissa shrugged her shoulders and replied in a matter-of-fact tune, "I want them to grow with discipline,"

"Tsk," Geal clicked his tongue, "So where would the fun come in? I’m sure you don’t want them to grow up and turn into a certain someone," he said, throwing hints at Nicklaus’s nonchalant self.

Arissa smiled, "That won’t hurt," she said, cutting out the last part of the sentence that was about to escape her lips - especially if that certain someone would become their father.

Nicklaus’s brows lifted with amusement and Geal threw him a naughty wink. Arissa munched her meal slowly and after taking it down her throat, she continued.

"I only pray I do not spoil them with so much love when they arrive," her voice sounded hopeful and one could feel the longing that was held back with hesitation in her voice. She sounded eager but not fully prepared.

Geal’s naught mask fell when he detected her emotions. His voice became soft, "On the contrary, they would need a lot of that love to survive," he cheered her on.

Arissa smiled again, this time showing her straight white teeth, "You don’t look like someone who should know a lot about kids,"

Geal sat up straight and pointed at his chest, "Trust me, I know a lot more than you could imagine. I do not even need to ask you about a few things," he chuckled proudly at the end.

Arissa rolled her eyes playfully, "Okay, okay," she agreed.

She took in a spoon filled with noodles into her mouth and Geal continued sipping his water slowly.

"Childbirth sulks," Geal spoke up thoughtfully after a while, "It terrifies the hell out of a few persons. I’d never put a woman I love out there to experience it," his voice sounded all serious and honest as he laid out his thought.

Nicklaus’s fingers clutching his fork stiffened and Arissa giggled, "You would when you get there," she lectured him, "It won’t sulk as much as you think it does,"

Geal shook his head in disagreement, "You’re saying this because you haven’t experienced childbirth. Maybe when you do, you’ll change your mind," he said, a small friendly laugh at the end.

"I pray I don’t," Arissa countered with determination.

Nicklaus paused eating, interlocked his fingers together, and placed his jaw on it, waiting eagerly for Arissa to stop giving all attention to Geal and look at him.

Right at that moment, he looked like a sulking child waiting for his momma’s attention but wasn’t having any.

Geal nodded, "If you consider yourself strong, then you won’t,"

Arissa paused for a moment. And then she smiled, saying softly, "I’d always be strong for my baby. You can’t make me do otherwise,"

Geal’s lips parted in surprise. Seems love does change people a lot. He could still remember the first time he spoke about kids in a dining setting like this which upset her greatly but now, she willingly kept the conversation going.

Hearing them talk about kids with Arissa having so much interest in it, Nicklaus forth hard to forcefully suppress the ecstasy in his heart, and when Arissa said she would always be strong for her baby, their baby, it threw a straight arrow filled with more determination to make them work into his heart.

Nicklaus looked at Geal and Geal turned to him. Their eyes interlocked and they both realized they were having the same thoughts. While Geal’s eyes explained he would help Nicklaus make them work, Nicklaus’s eyes explained he wasn’t letting her go, no matter the obstacles.

Geal faced Arissa again and asked, "How about the stress that comes with taking care of them? How would you fare with that?" he sounded hellbent on making her change her mind but that was far from the case. He was only giving Nicklaus more reasons to keep her by his side.

Arissa chuckled, "In as much as I would cuddle them to sleep every night, I won’t bother, neither would I call that a burden. Cuddling them to sleep with lots of kisses and waiting for the next day for them to flash me a small smile with their toothless gum is enough to kill any body ache or headache," she replied, lost in her daydream without a second thought.

Geal dropped his glass on the dining table already speechless and Nicklaus could only stare at Arissa without blinking.

They both stared at her like she grew two horns before them, not that she noticed. She was still in her daydreaming world where she had kids and wasn’t yet back to reality.

She sipped in a glass of water, drooped the glass, and asked with a questioning smile on her lips, "Why do I feel like this is some interview,"

Geal woke up from his dazed dream and then he smirked, "What do you think? You might be in one, you never can tell," he released a small smile at the end and Arissa laughed along.
