His Toxic Addiction-Chapter 347: Errand.
Chapter 347: Errand.
Getting into the monitoring room, Sarah stared at the group of monitors before her and began to view the whole corners of the mansion, mindlessly using the limited time she had.
Seeing the dining hall, her blood boiled in her when she saw Valeria cleaning the side of Logan’s lips. Her jealousy controlled her and she entirely forgot about the task at hand for a moment.
She fixed her piercing black eyes on the screen and concentrated her whole gaze on Valeria. Luckily, she can’t produce lasers from her stares because if she could, she would have burned Valeria through the screen.
She felt she had a lot of time so she stared at the other corners of the house and when she saw everywhere empty except the dining, she fixed her eyes on the faces of the men in the dining hall with Logan. free𝑤ebnovel.com
She had a strange feeling that someone among them might be from Mr. Adam and if her suspicions were true, how was the person able to get into her room without her consent and how could she be sure Mr. Adams would keep to the end of the bargain?
However, what if he did not plant any spices into Logan’s men? What if she doesn’t see her father after this?
Coming back to her senses, she pushed all thoughts in her mind out of the window and decided to focus on the one before her.
Fixing the tiny camera on the screen closest to her, she fixed her stopwatch for exactly ten minutes. She sat down and relaxed while watching in amazement how the tiny camera tried moving into the screen of the computer.
Her mouth parted open and her fear returned. She regretted being involved in all of this because the issue doesn’t seem to be resolved and might never be.
Alfred has been put behind bars but still, Mr. Adams entrusted her with a task like this. What does he want to know about Logan’s indoor life to be doing this?
Questions about how Mr. Adams was able to come up with something like this and also, sneaky hid himself in her room lingered around her mind longer than it should have.
Five minutes into her sight, she caught sight of someone walking towards a corridor that wasn’t related to the dining hall.
She squinted her eyes and zoomed the man out and her heart jumped into her stomach as she panicked when she recognized some spots she came across while coming in here.
"Fuck!" she cursed and stood up from the seat she sat on when she saw the man fast approaching the left turn to the monitoring room.
She frantically looked around for a place to hide but found none. "This is b_" The door pushed open from outside and cut her off her speech.
Her soul left her when she stood face to face with the man. From the corner of her eyes, she stared at the camera and cursed out loud in her mind when she caught sight of it.
She stared back at the man and as if charmed and distracted, her mind went off her predicament, and for that moment, she admired his well-built body and square-jawed face. He had taunting deep sea blue eyes and there was something in there that got her lost in them. In one word, the man before her looked very handsome, more handsome than Logan.
Sarah haven’t come across this man before and the fact she became attracted to him at first sight just like with Logan made her feel like a whore
The man who came in narrowed his gaze at Sarah suspiciously. His face scrunched upward as if disgusted by her.
He looked around her and then the room for something suspicious but when he found nothing, he decided to ask, "Why are you here?" his voice wasn’t welcoming.
Sarah’s heart thumped loudly at the sound of his deep masculine voice and she finally came back to her senses without thinking, she looked him in the eyes and replied, "I was on my way to an errand,"
"An errand?"
Sarah nodded, "Yes an errand," she stared at the open door, "If you would excuse me, I think I have to go. I’m done here," she wanted to leave immediately - she couldn’t even tell if it was because of her suspicious presence here or because she doesn’t want to be swept off her feet more than she already was by this man before her. But whichever reason it could be, she had to leave the spot she stood on.
Her presence in this particular room was dangerous.
Her only prayer was for the man not to notice the camera until the minutes were completed but doubted he would notice it since it was almost invisible now.
The man’s brow arched. He saw Sarah staring at the door and he closed the door behind him and folded his both hands across his chest.
Sarah gulped. She did not like the glint in the man’s eyes, it made her uncomfortable.
"What was the errand about?" he sounded interested and threatening.
The monitoring room was his to control and things can’t go wrong under his watch unless he dies.
Sarah clenched her fists by her sides nervously and said nothing. She felt suffocated and the feeling she might die creeped in.
Her non-reply made the man more suspicious and he asked, "Why are you here and not in the dining room as the others?"
"As I said, I’m on an errand," she repeated her first choice of words. Technically, she was on an errand.
The man frowned and pressed on, "And? I mean who sent you on this errand?"
Sarah looked at him, acting numb. Her mind thought of possible ways to escape any harsh fate this errand Mr. Adams pressed on her would bring.
"BAM!!!"
A loud explosion resounded from one of the screens. The man forgot about Sarah and rushed towards the system. His jaw drooped when he saw the massive explosion in the kitchen and he immediately let out a fire alarm and rushed out of the monitoring room.
While the man rushed out, Sarah stood frozen, unable to say a word because she knew who the fire might come for and wondered why.
