His Toxic Addiction-Chapter 369: Trust Issues
Chapter 369: Trust Issues
Nicklaus washed Arissa after their activity. He made sure to clean her in the most gentle way possible. He also gave her no reason to shake or turn her body too much.
He helped her out of the Jacuzzi after washing her and began to clean her up after making her relax on the vanity seat.
"I can do this, Nick," Arissa interjected as the idea of him doing everything did not sit down well inside her. To be honest, she felt tired but not tired to the point of not being able to lift a finger.
Nicklaus smiled at her and said, "I know you can but you do not look strong enough to do it," he held her leg in his hand and placed a kiss on it, "Now relax so you’ll rest,"
Arissa relaxed in her seat and enjoyed the sensation that came with letting her husband take care of her.
She shut her eyes and asked softly when she remembered that the doctor texted Nicklaus about an hour ago, "How about Mr. William?"
Nicklaus took her cream beside him and poured a little quantity on his palm. He rubbed his palm in between her legs and kissed her stomach, "If I could make time wait, I would do it for you. So he should wait until whenever you have taken a good rest,"
He stared deeply at her stomach for a short while before he continued rubbing the cream on her legs. His mind ventured into deep thinking when he remembered the higher-ups.
He already loves his child and does not regret planting his seeds into Arissa as that was one of his ultimate wishes in the world. He has always wanted her to bear him children and she’s a step away from fulfilling that wish.
However, he wondered how he would keep her away from the sights of the higher-ups. They have eyes everywhere and even the hospital would not be safe for his wife and child.
The media would surely spread the news the moment her stomach became visible. His only option was to make sure she stayed in all through her pregnancy period but he did not want her to feel suffocated.
She values her freedom so much and he wants to give her all of it. His only option now was to explain everything to her, which he didn’t want to.
He wants her to live without fear and enjoy her pregnancy days and change, freely like every other woman out there and not with thoughts of her safety and that of the babies.
He felt Arissa’s fingers combing into his hair and it pulled him out of his thoughts. He let go of her legs and rubbed the sides of her curves. He put on a bright smile so she wouldn’t see through the hard time he was having inside.
The news of them having a baby gladdened him deep down in his heart and he would not let her think otherwise.
"Nick, you_" she trailed off her words and released a yawn. She felt so sleepy but she refused to admit to that.
"That’s it," Nicklaus ended the conversation as he stood straight. He reached for the hem of his shirt and pulled it off, "I’m sorry for taking so long," he apologized.
Arissa frowned at the face of his apology. "What’s the apology for?"
Nicklaus knelt before her and tried to put his shirt over her head, "I took a long time to help you get ready and now you feel sleepy,"
Arissa sighed and helped him put the shirt over her, "That wasn’t a good reason for you to apologize. And besides, I only yawned and did not doze off,"
Nicklaus did not reply to her or defend himself. He hummed and kissed the crown of her the crown of her head after covering her with his shirt.
"You seem worried," Arissa muttered when he pulled away from her head.
Nicklaus chuckled, "I am. My wife is pregnant and I have heard little details about how labor pains feel like," he took in a deep breath and paused.
Arissa grabbed his wrist and squeezed it, "That shouldn’t bother you so much,"
"It should Love. And also_" he cut himself off when he realized he was one step away from telling her what could happen with the higher-ups.
Arissa stared into his eyes when he trailed off so suspiciously and raised a brow at him, "And also?"
Nicklaus avoided her gaze, "You should rest," he stood straight and proceeded to carry her from her seat to the bed.
"I can walk," Arissa said in disappointment and anger as she pushed his hand away from her.
She can’t believe he still has trust issues. This wasn’t his first time doing this to her and she believes it would not be his last.
She reached for the hem of his shirt and pulled it off her body. "I think you should have this," she fumed as she returned his shirt to his hand.
Nicklaus looked dumbfounded, "Arissa,"
"Don’t call my name, Nicklaus," she shunned him, "You do not have to worry about me if you do not trust me enough to open up to me," she took the bathrobe from the hanger and put it on.
Nicklaus ran his hand through his hair and watched her, "Arissa you do not have to get this mad," he reasoned.
Arissa faced him. She shook her head at him in disbelief, "I do not have to get this mad?" she asked, moist filled her eyes.
Nicklaus released an exhale, "Take in a deep breath, Love. I want you to please take in a deep breath and do not let those tears leave your eyes,"
Arissa nodded, and then she moved towards him. Holding both sides if his face, she pleaded, "You are only this way when it has something to do with me. Please tell me what it is,"
