Hitman In The Apocalypse: I Evolve Infinitely!-Chapter 46- The Rise (Part 4)
Chapter 46- The Rise (Part 4)
"Would that bastard really find a way inside?"
After sneaking inside, Rein navigated the area for a bit, locating every single person he could find and then drawing a map in his head of every single room, turn, and interesting detail that he assumed would be useful.
After that, he moved back to the entrance where he let Violet and Teo inside.
"We will move to the lower floor. The stairs are on the other side. Your family should be downstairs." Rein said to Violet as he pointed with his hand.
"Ok."
"Get your weapons out. We will have to take care of several targets." Rein said with a calm tone. However, his words made Teo and Violet flinch visibly. They knew exactly what ’taking care of targets’ meant. Killing them.
Naturally, neither of these two had killed a living person before. In fact, neither had hurt anyone before, let alone killed them. To suddenly do that... It wasn’t going to be easy.
"I will do it," Violet said as she clenched her weapon tightly. "I won’t spare them for what they did to my family."
Rein nodded his head. "Good. You can’t hesitate. Hesitation is death."
After saying that, Rein turned around and started moving with the two following him. Outside, the storm was only getting stronger and stronger with every passing minute. The wind was reaching dangerous levels as it whistled loudly, and the rain created rivers throughout the entire city.
It was almost becoming a flood that would swallow anything in its path. This storm was one of the strongest storms this city had ever seen... No, this entire region had ever experienced.
The sky above felt like it was about to split open from the sheer violence of the thunder rumbling through it. It felt like the world was angry, and it is showing its wrath in full to the survivors.
"Do you see anything?!" One agent yelled as he covered his face. The rain was so fast and violent that it kept hitting his eyes, making him unable to see.
"No!!! The storm is too strong! We will get thrown off!!!" Another replied as he tried to fight the wind that kept pushing him back.
"What the hell are we supposed to do?!!!"
"We need to retreat! There is no way that bastard could do anything in this storm!"
The urge to just hide from this brutal weather took over them, and so the agents started retreating back to the warehouse.
"Rrrrrr! I can’t feel my limbs..."
As they marched back through the rain, one of them noticed something that the others didn’t.
"Hm?" The man stopped and looked to the side. In the very far distance, he saw a faint light... One that could be barely seen even in the blinding darkness of the night. However, he could see it, clear as day.
"What’s that?" He squinted his eyes. However, before he could even figure out what he was looking at... The entire ground beneath his feet started shaking violently, throwing him off balance.
"Woahhh!!"
The group fell to the ground, unable to keep standing on their feet. A loud, ear-splitting noise invaded their heads, making them cover their ears. Then, they saw it... The ground started cracking before their eyes.
The cracks started very small before quickly spreading out quickly and instantly. The size of the cracks expanded from mere inches to several meters, running through the entire district and beyond.
"What the hell?!!!" One yelled as they crouched back. However, before he could even get away from it, he slipped into the crack as he started falling into the abyss.
"Run!!!! It’s an earthquake!!"
The others felt their entire bodies shake from fear as they stood up and started running as fast as they could. Except... It was far too late.
The cracks split through the buildings, the streets, and everything in their way. The structures started crumbling before their eyes.
"Move out of the way!!!"
One yelled as they saw the building to the side fall before them, all the rubble moving directly toward them.
The entire group... was buried under tons of rubble.

*Inside the building*
Rein and the others felt the entire world shake before them as they stopped. The light above their heads flickered and then went completely off.
"What’s happening?" Violet asked as her eyes widened. Before she could even finish the question, another violet wave hit the building, making the walls and the ground crack.
Rein’s eyes followed the cracks before he quickly looked up. ’Don’t tell me.’ He thought to himself as he rushed to the nearest window.
There, outside, he saw something he could never even imagine in his wildest dreams. The entire world was shaking before his eyes as large cracks appeared everywhere. Each crack big enough to swallow a car or even an entire building.
He could see the entire city crumbling in the distance as this earthquake ate everything in its way.
’An earthquake? This region had never faced an earthquake before.’ He clenched his teeth. ’This is bad! This is really bad!!’
With no time to waste, Rein turned around to rush back to Violet and Teo. However, at that moment, the building was hit a third time as the cracks finally split the ground beneath their feet open.
Then it started spreading quickly, separating the three quickly.
"Rein!!"
Violet tried to jump over, only for the ceiling above their heads to collapse and tons of rubble blocked the way.
"Shit." Rein cursed as he tried to keep his balance. "It’s fine! You two get out of here!! I will try to leave from the other side."
"But, Rein!!!"
More and more of the ceiling started crumbling, almost hitting Violet in the head.
"I will be fine! I promise! I will find your family and get them out of here! Don’t worry!" He said as he turned around. At the same time, Rein saw several agents rushing through the corridor, only to end up facing him as they stopped.
’It could never be straightforward, can it?’
