How Did I Become an F1 Driver?-Chapter 111 - 87: All-Nighter (Part 2)
Chapter 111: Chapter 87: All-Nighter (Part 2)
"Who is Jame?" Zhou Guanyu asked curiously.
Qin Miao didn’t explain, just replied perfunctorily, "Nobody, just a sniper who’s good at saving guns."
"Oh." Zhou Guanyu didn’t press further, "Out of money, lend me a gun."
"Economic black hole!" Qin Miao grumbled, but with over seven thousand bucks on him, he still handed Zhou Guanyu a 4750 AWP.
He then splurged on a shotgun for himself.
Life’s tough, better earn some money with a shotgun first; otherwise, losing this round means no money for guns in the next.
Zhou Guanyu wasn’t the least bit embarrassed; he happily took the AWP Qin Miao tossed to him and ran off to play on the Banana Path.
With no worries left, the two of them once again threw all their attention into the game.
Zhou Guanyu did keep his promise of treating Qin Miao to a late-night snack.
Around two in the morning, just as Qin Miao was starting to feel hungry, someone dressed like a delivery guy opened the internet cafe door and walked in.
After a quick scan of the place, he found where Qin Miao and Zhou Guanyu were sitting and placed the bag he was holding on an empty seat next to Zhou Guanyu.
At this moment, the two were in the midst of a battle in Purgatory Town, naturally unable to sign for the delivery.
The delivery guy didn’t seem to care about getting a signature. After confirming the address and machine number were correct, he just left the stuff and walked away.
Immersed in their game, the two didn’t even notice when someone had come by and dropped off something.
But after playing for so long, both were really hungry. Zhou Guanyu finished a round, and noticed his delivery had arrived, so after a quick bite, they continued to battle in the hail of bullets.
...
By seven the next morning, the pair had switched games.
After all, CSGO is a competitive game that demands high concentration from players.
In each short round, you must stay focused.
Initially, they could still play quite relaxed at double AK and small eagle ranks.
But reaching the big eagle and small globe stages, they had to really perk up because no players at this rank had poor shooting skills—if you didn’t play seriously, the opponents would teach you a lesson with their terrifying reflexes and marksmanship.
Playing such intense games for a few rounds, the pair, who had been gaming all night, inevitably started to run out of steam.
Realizing they were tiring out, they decisively chose to switch games.
The two were of similar age, with comparable gaming experiences, so they found another game they both could play.
Warcraft
However, instead of the official RTS mode, they played custom maps made by players.
Having switched to Warcraft, they played all the way until now.
Honestly, though he stayed up all night for the first time, Zhou Guanyu didn’t feel too uncomfortable.
Nearly 24 hours without sleep only made him feel a little weary; physically, there’s not much exhaustion or discomfort.
All that intense daily exercise really builds endurance.
But when Zhou Guanyu saw Qin Miao’s condition, he was completely stunned.
It wasn’t because Qin Miao looked like he was about to collapse. Quite the opposite: Qin Miao, who hadn’t slept all night alongside Zhou Guanyu, showed no sign of fatigue whatsoever. Instead, he looked spirited, as if he had just woken up, full of energy.
He was even still engrossed in the computer game in front of him.
"Old Qin, stop playing, buddy. I can’t hold out any longer. We need to go back and sleep, or I’ll drop dead," Zhou Guanyu hurriedly pulled Qin Miao up.
Although Qin Miao seemed fine, Zhou Guanyu wasn’t about to gamble on Qin’s fortitude and ability to continue functioning without sleep.
And anyway, even if Qin could go on, Zhou Guanyu just couldn’t.
So Zhou Guanyu quickly dragged Qin Miao up, took him to eat breakfast, and then both went back to the hotel to rest.
Qin Miao actually still wanted to play, but seeing Zhou Guanyu’s exhausted face, Qin knew they couldn’t continue, or it might cause problems for Zhou.
The hotel they were staying at was the same one, and on their way back, they just popped into a convenience store to grab some snacks to fill their stomachs.
On the way back, they had enough energy to discuss some impressive moves they made during the game, boast a little, and share their thoughts at those moments, making the trip back not boring at all.
But once they got back to the hotel, they didn’t mess around; they went straight to their rooms to sleep.
Qimeng watched Qin Miao come in, not even bothering with a shower, and dive straight under the covers. She shook her head helplessly.
She forcibly pulled Qin Miao up, didn’t make him shower, just wiped him down with a wet towel before letting him sleep.
Looking at Qin Miao, already fast asleep on the bed, Qimeng sighed helplessly. The plan to check out today was off the table; later, she would have to go downstairs and pay for a few more days.
The good news is she could handle the visa formalities on her own, and she could even take care of Qin Miao’s as well.
But it was clear that they would have to stay in the UK a while longer.
