Humanity.exe-Chapter 38: Struggle (1)
I brought him back to the headquarters to meet Reika and get a room assigned to him. We definitely have the rooms to offer to our members as they come along.
It didn’t take long for us to make it back, as soon as I entered the headquarters I could see Reika waiting by the computers.
"Who’s that?" Nyoshi asked with a bit of curiosity.
"Reika, my second in command." I responded, almost instantly.
"So you did manage to find a new person to join us, that’s great." Reika spoke up with a bit of excitement in her voice.
"Yeah. I’m Nyoshi, nice to meet you Reika." Nyoshi said with a respectful tone.
I’m glad this guy seems to be a respectful one since not everyone in Kairox is like that. It’ll be quite a pain in the ass to recruit people since not a lot of them tend to have respect for authority.
I mean, look at me for example. I definitely have quite a few problems of my own but I’d also like to believe I’m an exception with certain things.
Regardless we’ll be dealing with quite the struggle for awhile.
"We’ll just pick one of the rooms that don’t have a name on them since most are free anyway." Reika replied before leaning back in the chair.
"Thank you both. I look forward to working with you guys." Nyoshi said before leaving the room.
I’ll have to see what he is best at since we need people to specialize in certain areas. I won’t be able to cover everything forever, otherwise we wouldn’t need more members.
After Nyoshi left the room I was able to take a look at what Reika had been up to since I left earlier. Looking at the computer screens I could see that she was definitely looking around for a good doc for us to bring in.
Most of them weren’t really that big of a deal to me since I don’t really have any knowledge on the docs.
"What about this one?" Reika asked while pointing at one of the screens.
"Junji’s Fix it All Office". So that’s the potential candidate she wants to bring into Kuroten. He looks a bit more promising than some of the other ones I see across these screens.
Though, I don’t know how to feel about a guy that seems that happy and excited about his work. I’m sure it could definitely be a good thing for us to have someone like that but who knows.
We’ll have to see if he even wants to leave behind his office to join us. That’s something we also have to take into consideration.
"Junji could be a good choice for us but there’s still the possibility that he decides he doesn’t want to join us." I answered while scratching my head.
"I think he’ll be up to it. The opportunity to do something bigger might be enough to bring him in." Reika said with some confidence.
"I love the confidence, go ahead and reach out to him. I’m going to check something out." I replied before heading over to my room.
It would be a good idea to actually investigate the damn gangs around us. I already know about some of them but I don’t know the important ones.
I opened up the computer in my room and started to search around to the best of my abilities. Running searches through multiple cameras throughout the streets around us and into the city a bit further.
This was the struggle of starting up a new gang, knowing who your rivals are. After about an hour of searching I still couldn’t find anything important.
Click. The door opened and Reika walked right on inside. "I can see what you’re looking into, you could’ve just asked me since I’ve been around awhile." Reika spoke with a laid back tone in her voice.
"So who is the current boss of Kairox then? The one who runs the streets." I asked with a curious tone.
"Myra. They’ve been the top dogs of Kairox for some time now and I don’t think anyone is capable of bringing them down at the moment." Reika answered as she begins to cross her arms.
Myra. That doesn’t really sound like a name that you’d hear for a gang that runs the city itself but I guess that’s why it is good. Myra also seems familiar to me in a way.
Maybe dad talked about them in the past or had some sort of relationship with them that I remember. It has been too long since I really thought about any of that.
It would be helpful if I remembered his gangs name as well since I could probably make them in into an ally.
"So we need to get strong enough to fight against Myra. It’ll be possible with more power." I said with confidence.
"No one has really tried anything in a long time so I don’t really know know if that’ll be something we can achieve. They also have a good amount of allies to assist them, mostly corporate assholes." Reika replied with a bit of disappointment and anger in her voice.
"Corporate, other gangs, it doesn’t really make a difference. We’ll take them out regardless of who they have at their side." I said while looking closely at the screens.
Fighting against everyone else is always going to be how it is, so it’s better to accept that now instead of later. I’ll make Kuroten strong enough to beat anyone that gets in our way.
I’m also going to do my best to get Renji in here since he has definitely grown a bit since I supposedly died.
This wraith nickname of his is definitely quite interesting, but I’m not dumb. That was definitely Renji and I believe he is probably skilled enough to bring on board.
He could add to our strength though.
"I do love how confident you are in our abilities and future members." Reika responded with an appreciative tone.
