Hunter Of The Six Realms-Chapter 40: Meeting with Iroh
Chapter 39
[DAILY TASK: BEGINNER TIER
60 PUSHUPS
60 SQUATS
60 SITUPS
6 KILOMETER RUN]
[PENALTY FOR FAILING QUEST: UNKNOWN]
[Time remaining: 23:59:58]
[WOULD YOU PREFER TO COMPLETE TASK NOW OR LATER?]
Kaizen’s expression lit up, was that all? Like, nothing else? No killing or anything like that?
This is easy, but...not that easy. I’ve never done this much workout all at once. It shouldn’t be that hard, right?
He had already eaten to his fill so he didn’t want to mess up his stomach by doing some workout, and since there was still a lot of time, he decided to complete it tomorrow.
"Later."
[BE SURE TO COMPLETE TASK BEFORE TIME IS UP. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL ACTIVE PENALTY]
By penalty you mean take back the life you gave me? You fucking selfish whatever you are, just suck me dry if that’s what will make you satisfied.
"So is this how you’re gonna remain floating over my vision? Black is not really my favorite color you know."
[WOULD YOU LIKE SYSTEM TO CLOSE WINDOW?]
So it’s called a system?
"Yes, close window."
As soon as he said that, the screen blinked close.
Finally
The texts were finally gone from his vision. Kaizen felt relaxed, closing his eyes to sleep after a long day. But as soon as he did, he saw something...someone.
He hurriedly snapped his eyes open, shocked.
What the hell was that?
It wasn’t just anyone, it was someone with white hair just like his, a young boy...but taller and well built. His white hair was long, falling down his shoulders, his eyes were sea blue, but his expression, he looked sad, like someone who was extremely pained.
Could that be him? Iroh?
Kaizen quickly closed his eyes, expecting to see him once again, but this time he saw nothing, just...darkness.
He opened and closed, repeating the process in an awkward fluttering and blinking of his eyelids. But still nothing.
Where did he go? I got a whole lots of questions to ask him.
"I’m right here."
Kaizen almost yelled when he heard someone else’s voice inside his room. He jolted up looking around for who just spoke, and he froze when he actually saw someone.
Is this another fucking hallucinating?
"Hi, Kaizen." Iroh waved, grinning widely.
Kaizen stared, completely speechless. This was the same person he just saw when he closed his eyes. How, like what in the world is happening right now.
"Umm, who let you in?" Kaizen asked, raising a brow.
Iroh blinked, "You did, you summoned me."
Kaizen blinked, scratching the back of his head, "I don’t remember performing any summoning ritual...drop the pretence and introduce yourself."
Iroh’s expression turned serious as he stared deeply into kaizen’s eyes. "You did summon me. And that’s only possible because I’m now part of you now."
"So you’re really Iroh?"
"The Elf must have already told you about me." Iroh asked, walking closer to kaizen’s bed were he sat.
"You look, really young." Kaizen asked, eyeing Iroh with a suspicious gaze. Knowing how Iroh existed hundreds of centuries ago, what Kaizen pictured when his name was mentioned was an advanced elderly man with muscles and destructive powers. Honestly that’s what everyone would have pictured based on what he’s heard so far about Iroh.
"I’m just a year older than you." Iroh shrugged, seating on the bed beside Kaizen. Kaizen shifted away awkwardly, his mind still questioning what the hell was happening.
"How come I can see your physical form? You’re dead right? You’re supposed to be a corpse."
Iroh chuckled when he noticed Kaizen seemed to be cautious of him. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Relax, I am able to manifest because of the power you now possess. This isn’t my physical form, this is just what’s left of my concussioness inside your power." Iroh explained calmly.
Kaizen raised a brow, "And why is your consciousness inside my power?"
"Because it was passed down from me to you. The concussioness of all other past weilders would have been also visible to you but unfortunately, they were all killed before their power even fully awakened."
Kaizen remained quiet for a moment, processing the information. He looked down at his palm, then clenched it before looking back at Iroh. "Did you actually cause destruction? Or were you framed."
Iroh’s expression turned serious, his smile falling. "They challenged me Kaizen. They hurt the people I loved, they tried all ways to get rid of me, so I turned against them to protect my self and the people I cared about. And because of that, they tagged me as a villain, for defending myself. Ridiculous isn’t it?"
Now it makes sense. They forced him to turn against them, just so they could find a reason to get rid of him.
"Honestly I’d do the same if anyone messed with my family. Heroism is not my thing."
"I will give you one advice, no matter what happens, don’t make the same mistake I made. Don’t let them push you to turn against the world, you’ll be playing into their hands if you do. Because that’s just want they want, a justified reason to get rid of your existence. You’re meant for something greater, to become the..."
"Wait!" Kaizen cut in raising a finger, "you mean to tell me, I should accept whatever they give me with a smile? I should play some patient hero who won’t break no matter what harm they bring to me? I should become some great ruler to some ungrateful people who want nothing but my death?" Now hearing Iroh’s side of the whole thing, he now understood what really happened. He had planned to fix everything by letting the world see that this power was meant for something greater and not just destruction, but bullshit, he didn’t give a damn anymore.
"Look Iroh," Kaizen continued. "I’m someone who values peace, I can be really nice to those who are nice to me. But believe me when I tell you this..." He said, his cold tone dropping into a deep whisper as a placed a hand on Iroh’s shoulder, his eyes burning into his. "And I swear it, if they go as much as hurting my family, I’ll burn them all to ashes."
