Chapter 206: Zero

The man suddenly appeared in the middle of the road. His long, grey hair was swept up by the wind and a black raven circled over his shoulder. He wore a long, dark-coloured coat with wide sleeves and a fitted waist, a white shirt with a high collar and cuff, and a pair of breeches tucked into a brown boot with a low heel and a buckle. And on his head was wide-brimmed black hair with a small black feather.

"Don’t I look fetching?"

"Not at all, Master. No one is dressed like this." The bird cowed as it flew over his head.

Zero shot a sideway glance at the bird and looked around. Sure enough, the men were dressed in various colourful and simple attire. How many years had it been since he came here and so much had changed?

"You, fucking dick. Watch where you are going, you twat." The man in the red car swore as he did his best to turn his car to avoid the cosplayer in the middle of the road.

Zero blinked and snapped his fingers. The shadows around him leapt into obedience, wrapped around him and he appeared at the other side of the road.

It was so, so different. Zero sighed and looked around until he saw a young man in his late twenties. He had a gold chain around his neck and a gold wristwatch that shone from where Zero was standing.

He held a card in his hand that had the word ’Possession’ written in the Dharma Epistle. The man was tall, and fairly handsome and with all the gold on him, he should have a bit of sway on Earth. Who would wear that much gold if they did not have the power to protect it?

The card faded into smoke and Zero disappeared.

The next second, he opened his eyes, his nose twitching, the scent was just too strong. He did not like it, not even one bit. He waited for a minute for the memories to assimilate into his body and he frowned.

He fucked up. He looked at the raven tattoo that suddenly appeared on his rest, "June, you might have to look for food for the both of us."

According to his memory fragments, this body was not only poor but he was in debt. Not only was he in debt, he was at the edge of being evicted from his flat.

"Jax. What are you spacing out for, Are you not going to buy the bag, you promised that his hand.

Zero looked at her and pulled his hand away from her grasp, "Eva. Let’s break up." After a few seconds, "I would take your silence as agreement." After saying it, he turned and left. Having a lover by his side was agreeable but the person had to be someone who could bring benefits and make his mission easier.

He tapped the air in front of him.

His mission was there in bold, [Find Alvar and cause him to sin. Reward: 100,000 points.]

Zero rubbed his hair, frowning as his hand detected grease on his hair. 100,000 points was insane and could get him enough cultivation materials for him to reach the Ascension Soul but points that high meant this mission would not be easy at all.

For one, he did not know who Alvar was, who he reincarnated into and his body in this world. The only hint he had was that if the Nest he opened was dangerous enough, Alvar would help.

Could anything be less vague? But what to do, he was not a Sentinel that had different departments backing them. Not like being a Sentinel was a good thing after all, they might raise their shoulders as high as they want but weren’t they all immortal dogs in the end?

He rubbed the talisman in his hand, when he met Alvar, this talisman would glow. Cause him to sin?

"Jax! Jax!" The woman seemed to have recovered and she screamed loudly, chasing after him. A double-decker bus stopped ahead of him. He appeared in front of the bus, taking out the card in the pocket of the man to scan the bus. Good thing he still had points in the bus pass.

The bus soon moved and Zero comfortably leaned back in his seat. Earth has really changed, the last time that he was here, he could recall that they rode on horses. Scientific and technological progress is a good thing.

Zero looked at the ordinary people who entered the bus. Even though the cosmic gateways, Nests are what they are called here, filled the land, these people still did their best to make life even better for themselves.

They worked, they studied, and ran their stores and stalls. Zero felt a little pity for the people that he had landed in their city. To create a Nest like the likes that would bring Alvar to this place, the magnitude of the cosmic gateway would be large enough to engulf half a city.

3 months. In 3 months, he should have gathered enough materials to create a Cosmic gateway and invite lower-level creatures and demons to fill this place. 3 months should be enough time.

He stared curiously out of the window at the various people that were wandering the street. What constitutes a sin, shedding innocent blood should be good enough. Best if Alvar was married, Adultery was also a good way to go. The immortal’s servant had made it very clear, that once he caused Alvar to sin, he was to kill him immediately. He must enter the Netherworld with the mark of the sin on his soul.

Zero suddenly froze and plastered his face on the window of the bus in disbelief. Just outside the window, four people were walking out of a building. Even if he was dreaming, he could recognize the fourth person.

High cheekbones, deep eye socket, a straight and prominent nose and thin, slightly curved lips.

What on earth was Ravi West doing in that realm?

The man who had been walking calmly behind the arguing teenager soon stopped and looked in his direction.

Zero ducked.
