I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 283: The Infernal Covenant
Chapter 283: The Infernal Covenant
Ravi saw them first. Twelve people with masks with white priestly robes.
One of them suddenly clapping, "Arlen Sinclair, what a wonderful display of ability. Your mother would be most proud. At last, you are worthy to be called A Sinclair."
It was the voice of a man, maybe in his late thirties. Arlen could not tell. Seeing the robes and the emblem, he could recognize this group.
In every police system, the number one most wanted criminal was a group. Infernal Covenant.
He had grown stronger than he initially was but it was still folly to engage the Infernal Covenant.
This people were not only very strong, but extremely elusive. Like a snake, they would slither away when the fight becomes too much for them,
It would slow them down. And time was their enemy.
"How much were you paid?" There was no reason for the Infernal Covenant to be here otherwise if they were not paid.
There was the sound of someone scoffing from behind the masks.
"Paid?" Another voice sounded from within the ranks of twelve, "Are you saying that you, Arlen Sinclair, of the Sinclair family would pay us more in order not to fight you? This should be in recording."
"Zero gave you something else. A potion?"
For this kind of group, money was not too hard for them to get, it was only something like a Mana replenishing or a potion that would increase their power that could move them.
"You are the one that killed Kadia. Ravi West."
Unlike when the first time, when the man was talking to Arlen, he seemed to have lost all amusement.
They wore black masks but Arlen knew they were all tense behind his masks.
Ravi blinked and nodded, "I was afraid that you would all hide away forever but you all came to find me. It is not even my birthday. " ƒrēenovelkiss.com
He then looked at Arlen and explained calmly, "Min sol, these are the people who made my Ash’s life miserable."
Ravi faced the twelve of them and closed his eyes. He looked serene like he could not be bothered with everything that was happening around them.
The person who had spoken first suddenly raised his mask slightly and opened his mouth. At that moment, a white strand of silk shot out like a bullet.
Arlen’s brows furrowed but he did not dodge it.
The thread slammed against the air in front of them.
The barrier was still around them. Was it a one-way barrier?
He raised his hand and the wind around him spun faster, growing so wild that it could be seen with a single eyes. It formed into a violent cyclone and then swirled tighter and tighter until it formed a single point.
He wanted to send it forward when Arlen froze. It was not just him, the members of the Infernal Covenant who were about to jointly attack the barrier stopped and looked up.
The sky rumbled so loudly, like it was about to split apart. A sword fell from the sky and landed in Ravi’s outstretched sword.
The sword blade was silver and was as thin as a cicada’s wings. It looked very simple and even though it had stayed in the last hundred years in the Netherworld, it still emitted a vast and mighty aura of righteousness, as if it as capable of accommodating the entire Universe.
Ravi looked down at the sword; it felt so light and cool in his hands.
He smiled and called it softly, "River."
Arlen could swear that he heard the sword humming. He looked at Ravi; this was his Ravi without a doubt. However, his bearing had completely changed.
His gaze was sedate and calm, it was as if with him standing there, the heavens and the earth had become silent and the world had become calm.
It was the most eerie of feeling. Like as long as this person was present, everyone ion the world had someone to rely on, someone to entrust their hopes to. Like the Ravi in front of him wished for nothing but to give his heart to the heaven and his life for the people of the world.
It scared him. It entranced him.
"What the fuck!"
"What on earth are you scared for? He is just one person. Let’s kill him and go." The twelve priests were the leader of their small groups and were highly trained and experienced.
Even though the sky splitting to deliver a sword was out of what they had seen, they still divided themselves into four groups and attacked the barrier.
"Don’t be so eager to die." His voice was indifferent, his face was calm and there was no killing intent in his eyes.
His sword pierced out and a wisp of hot red blood sprayed out to form a matchlessly beautiful and tragic sight.
Death in a single strike.
The Infernal Covenant had been mankind number one trouble. Their abilities were unique and powerful, their devices were devious but in front of River, it was as if they had become headless chickens without any strength or direction.
It was simply overkill.
There was no conversation, no spouting nonsense, delay or hesitation. Ravi just deflected their abilities and his wrist moved numbly.
In the air, there was a string of thick blood that was spraying lava everywhere Ravi passed.
Towards this one direction slaughter, their killing intent fizzled away as they stared at Ravi like he was a devil. Some of them turned, taking over various items as they tried to flee.
A light flew out of River and the head of one of the members separated from his body and flew high up in the air.
It was too late. Wanting to flee was already too late.
One crumbled into fine dust when his head was blasted open before the sword even reached him. Mini who could jump space had fled more than 200 meters and she did not even have the time to speak when she felt her neck go cold, when she looked down, a thin sword had penetrated his throat and let out a spray of dazzling blood.
Ravi looked at the last one and was about to attack when he heard Arlen’s voice, "Ravi. Don’t."
