I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 479 Treasure Quest
After lunchtime, Alina returned to Class D with the warmest, brightest smile. While the babies had been playing outside, she had asked the staff to quietly prepare something special inside the classroom.
The babies were already settling into their seats, though "settling" was a generous word, because Boo was floating upside down near the ceiling like a rebellious balloon, Drake was trying to balance a pencil on his nose with intense concentration, Kelpie was whispering dramatic secrets to Rocky, and Vlad Jr. was sitting with perfect posture like a refined prince judging the entire classroom.
Alina clapped her hands gently, trying not to laugh. "Alright, everyone. Since we already ran so much outside, we are going to play a new game inside today."
Instantly, the room lit up with excitement.
"A GAME?" Drake gasped, his tail flicking so hard it almost knocked over a chair.
"Fun game?" Kelpie asked eagerly, scooting forward.
"Spooky game?" Boo whispered hopefully, glowing a little brighter.
"Elegant game?" Vlad Jr. murmured thoughtfully.
"Safe game?" Rocky asked softly, clutching the edge of his desk.
"Yes to all of that," Alina laughed. "This game is called Treasure Quest."
Boo gasped so dramatically he nearly phased through the floor. "TREASURE?!"
"Yes," Alina nodded solemnly, as if announcing something extremely important. "I have hidden small surprise cards around the classroom. Each card has a tiny mission. If you find a card and complete the mission, you earn a sticker."
She turned and lifted a basket filled with colorful stickers shaped like stars, moons, tiny crowns, paw prints, seashells, flames, and even tiny ghost faces.
The babies stared like she had just revealed the greatest treasure in the world.
"MISSION?" Drake whispered like a warrior preparing for battle.
"TREASURE HUNT?" Boo floated closer, eyes sparkling with excitement.
"High level competition," Vlad Jr. murmured seriously.
"Before we start," Alina said gently but firmly, "three rules. No running too fast. No pushing. And if someone feels stuck, we help them."
Lucien nodded like a responsible commander. Luna crossed her arms like a strict security guard. Felix sighed like he was already exhausted.
"Ready?" Alina asked.
"YESSSSSSS!" the whole class shouted.
"Go."
The classroom instantly exploded into adorable chaos.
Chairs scraped. Tiny feet hurried. Boo zoomed through the air like a glowing missile. Drake dove under a desk with heroic determination. Kelpie crawled behind a bookshelf like a sneaky explorer. Rocky peeked nervously behind a plant. Vlad Jr. searched with the grace of a refined detective. Felix checked under one chair, then gave up halfway through standing.
"Teacher," Boo announced while floating upside down, "ghosts have advantage in treasure hunting. This game is unfair."
"Boo, no cheating," Alina laughed.
"I am not cheating," he said proudly. "I am enhancing."
Drake popped out from behind a desk. "If I find treasure, I will guard it with fire!"
"NO FIRE," everyone yelled in panic.
Kelpie crawled out from under a table holding a card like he had discovered ancient sacred knowledge. "Teacher! I found one!"
"Read it," Alina encouraged.
He squinted dramatically. "Give someone a compliment."
He straightened proudly. "Teacher, you are the prettiest sea queen in the whole ocean and also on land and also in space."
Alina laughed, cheeks warm. "Mission completed."
Rocky carefully found a card near the window. He opened it slowly.
It read: "Roar loudly like a monster."
Rocky stared at it. "...Roar?"
Everyone leaned forward, waiting.
The shyest child in the classroom took a deep breath.
"...RAWR."
It sounded like a confused kitten trying to be scary.
Drake gasped. "THE SCARIEST ROAR EVER!"
Luna nodded solemnly. "Terrifying."
Rocky’s face turned pink. "...Mission completed?"
Alina handed him a sticker. "Completed."
Vlad Jr. found a card hidden behind the curtain. He unfolded it elegantly.
"Act silly and make a funny face."
Silence fell over the room.
Everyone stared at him like the world was about to collapse.
Vlad Jr. looked personally offended. "...This mission attacks my dignity."
Then, with the air of a tragic hero, he crossed his eyes, puffed his cheeks, and stuck out his tongue in the most exaggeratedly ridiculous expression imaginable.
The room exploded into laughter.
Boo screamed laughing. "THE PRINCE HAS FALLEN!"
Felix covered his face with two tails. "I will never recover from this."
Vlad Jr. straightened immediately. "Do not speak of this again."
Drake found a card under the teacher’s desk.
"Sit still and relax for one minute."
He froze in horror. "Sit... still? But I am a dragon."
He sat down and tried. His tail twitched. His wings twitched. His fingers twitched. Even his face twitched.
Ten seconds later he popped up. "I FAILED PHYSICALLY."
Felix lazily picked up a card near a bookshelf.
"Jump three times enthusiastically."
He stared at it like it had personally offended him. "...No."
"DO IT," Boo urged.
Felix sighed deeply, stood up, and performed three slow, painfully unenthusiastic hops. "I hate this game," he announced.
Luna found a card behind a table.
"Say something sweet."
She stared at it suspiciously. "...Sweet?"
She glanced at Rocky, who was still holding his sticker nervously. "...You are... not annoying," she muttered.
Rocky blinked in awe. "...That’s the nicest thing anyone ever said to me."
Lucien found a card behind a stack of books.
"Tell a silly joke."
He frowned. "Jokes are inefficient."
But he cleared his throat anyway. "...Why did the broom get tired? Because it swept too much."
Everyone stared.
Then Drake burst into laughter. "HE TOLD A DAD JOKE."
Lucien looked quietly proud.
Sable found a card near Alina’s desk.
"Brag about yourself."
He froze. "...Brag?"
He looked down shyly. "...I... um... I am good at listening... and being gentle... and... hugging."
The entire class melted emotionally.
Boo floated over, clutching his chest. "This is emotional damage."
Then Boo found his card.
He unfolded it dramatically.
"Be calm and quiet for thirty seconds."
Silence.
Boo gasped in horror. "IMPOSSIBLE."
He tried.
Two seconds in, he whispered, "I am suffering."
Five seconds in, he whispered, "This is torture."
Ten seconds in, he dramatically collapsed midair. "I CANNOT LIVE LIKE THIS."
Alina laughed so hard she had to sit down.
"Teacher, I found another!!!" Drake shouted, practically launching himself across the classroom like a heroic treasure hunter.
He waved the new card like it was a sacred prophecy.
"Read it! Read it!" Boo chanted, spinning dramatically.
Drake unfolded the card with exaggerated care, cleared his throat loudly, and read:
"Mission: Act shy, soft spoken, and polite for one whole minute."
