I Became a Nobody in My Favourite Novel-Chapter 20: “Ranks Assessment?”:12
Chapter 20 - “Ranks Assessment?”:12
Emil and the team slowly made their way to the main hall of the academy, their steps were heavy and were filled with exhaustion, but their spirits were strong. The place slowly started filling with the students who came back from the trials, many were bru, and some were limping.
The large scoreboard made out of crystal was on the wall, currently it was dim as the final teams were yet to arrive. The head instructor, Aravelle, raised her hand and silence fell like a blanket.
She took a pause and then said. A voice filled with authority. "The trials have ended. All data has been processed. We hereby will now announce the results."
A low hum echoed in the hall and the crystal board lit up, golden lines began to form across its surface, and letters and numbers were visible now.
Riven smirked, Luin gasped and smiled a bit and Luin smiled brightly and they all in unison looked at their captain Emil.
Emil sighed and said. "As expected."

Cheers started to fill in the grand hall. Some students were clapping genuinely, others just stared at Emil and his team, feeling jealous. Emil noticed Arthur butting his lips, Draven cursed them while whispering under his breath. Raen and Lyra simply just smiled. Raen gave Wmil a respectful nod from the distance.
Emil nodded back at him and gave him a small and calm smile. But, Emil knew something, something about the true nature of Raen.
After the announcements were made, instructors handed out the badges, and silver pins which were subjected to individual scores. Everyone in Team Emil received bonus merit points for clearing the trial first and setting up the new record.
Later that day, Emil, Riven, Luin and Kael sat quietly near the garden fountain, they were watching the students walk past. Normally chitchatting with each other. They knew that the real thing would start from tomorrow when they would start their classes.
Kael puts his hands behind his head and stretches a bit. "Well, don't you think it's so peaceful right now?"

Riven coldly replied to him. "Yeah idiot, what else you want, huh? We came back from the dead a while ago and you want us to be in danger again."
Luin giggled and said. "He is right, Kael. We should rest up as much as we can because from tomorrow our hectic schedule will start."
While they were talking, some guys approached them.
A group of five students walked toward them, all of them were wearing rich clothes, and they were walking like they owned this place.
The one in front had a cunning smile on his face, and dark blonde hair tied back neatly. His uniform had a silver crest pinned on his collar, it was a twin serpent emblem that sparkled faintly.
"Emil Valcrest," he said, the voice was smooth. "Iam Lysander Thalor. House Thalor of the Northeast region. I want to make an offer to you."
Riven narrowed his eyes and said. "We are not interested even a tiny bit in your stupid offer."
But Lysander kept speaking, his eyes never left Emil's eyes.
"You and Riven don't belong in a team like this. You could do so much more, like way better than you can imagine, with people like us. Our family can offer you more resources, better training, and real connections. Just say the word and we'll sort out everything with the instructors and get you on our team."
One of the guys who came with Lysander said. "You would be treated way better with us. No offense. But, the team you currently are in? They're just nobodies who are slowing you down."
Kael stood up fast, his fists clenched, aims popped out of his forehead. "Say one more word and I swear I will break your jaw."
Luin grabbed Kael's arm. "Kael, stop. Let Emil handle this, you and me, we both know that Emil is the best when it comes to handling these sorts of scenarios."
But Kael's face was burning. "You think just because you wear some fancy clothes like that, you can talk shit to us, and you can think you're better than us? Get the hell out of here, you fucking maggots."
Before things got worse, Emil stood up.
His tone was calm, but the fit was firm. "We're not switching, and with you? Not a chance, we are a team and will stay like that only. It will be better if you go away now because you see, these boys are a bit aggressive you know."
Luin's golden mana started appearing on his hands, Kael grabbed his spear and was ready for a fight, and Riven's hand went to the handle of his sword which was in the sheath and hanging around his waist.
Lysander studied Emil for a moment, then said "Hey chill out man, we don't want to fight you guys, we just came to make a proposal that's it."
Emil fake smiled and said. "Then fuck off."
They all ran away, they ran so fast that they disappeared into thin air in under a few seconds.
Emil turned around to look at his group.
They all stared at each other for a while and then laughed as hard as they could.
After the situation got normal.
Kael muttered. "Spoiled pricks, they thought they were better than us."
Riven crossed his arms. "For the first time, I agree with this idiot."
Just then, a bell rang through the courtyard. A magic screen flickered, a huge screen was placed over the central tower.
"Class assignments are now posted."
Students rushed to the announcement board to look for their class. Emil and others walked over there too.
Class S— Elite Combat and Magic Training Division
Team Emil Valcrest
Team Raen Aldcroft
Team Irelia Dawnmere
and others...
Kael's eyes widened and he said. "Fuck... Class S... we fucking made it, damn it."
Luin gave a tired look and said. "Heh. I already knew we won the trial so of course we will get the top class."
Riven looked at Emil and said. "Emil, you see that? Raen and his team got the same class too."
Emil maintained a calm expression and said. "Well, I guess we will get into a lot of trouble because of them."
Emil saw the results too, it was class S, but he didn't smile, Not this time.
His eyes moved to the side, to a second message that was flickering in the air faintly, it was his system window.
It was a message that only he could see:
Claim rewards.
