I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 120: The Ugly Truth
The rainbow sheen and the aura on its cover grew even more intense after it absorbed another drop of Origin Energy from him.
According to Edith, she also now has another drop of Origin Energy inside her.
This Origin Energy was still mixed with his Yang Energy when he fired it inside her pussy earlier.
It seemed that from now on, every time they dual-cultivated and every time he fired a shot inside her, she would gain another Origin Energy drop for her to use.
With another drop of Origin Energy, she could now stay in the real world for much longer to accompany him. Miguel also told her that she could use the Origin Energy for her skills to have a much better effect.
Miguel counted the Origin Energy drops now floating above his Inner World and realized that he now had a total of 58 Origin Energy drops.
Since he knew that this was not enough to make a breakthrough yet, he decided not to use them for the time being.
After the two of them got dressed, they finally got out of the carriage.
The morning sun struck their faces as a warm feeling coursed through their veins.
Miguel looked up and couldn’t help but marvel at how big this world’s sun was.
He was suddenly curious about what its name was as well as the stories that revolved around it.
He wondered when he would be able to journey into the vast space outside the world once more. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
As he was looking up, someone suddenly entered his peripheral vision.
"Mister Journey, when should we set off to Red Cliff City?"
It was the Red Devils’ leader, Albert, an Advance Apprentice Rank Summoner with a Bronze Grade Grimoire.
"Let’s set off as soon as possible. Who knows if there are still new assassin groups coming our way?" Miguel said with a meaningful smile on his face.
Hearing that, Albert twisted his head to the side in confusion. However, when he realized the meaning behind Journey’s words, he suddenly felt a chill running down his spine.
He no longer wasted any more time, as he ordered all of them to pack up as soon as possible. They would set off after they were done eating breakfast and hopefully reach Red Cliff City before the sun set.
The sudden rush startled everyone present, including Erika and Gasper.
Erika thought of the reason and could not help but grit her teeth in anger and reluctance.
She went forward and came in front of Journey.
"I... I want to know the truth." She looked up at him with a determined gaze.
She already learned yesterday that the assassins were no longer the bandits’ business.
At this point, she already has an inkling as to who hired the assassins, but deep inside, she was still hoping that she was wrong.
Seeing her determination, Miguel merely smiled beneath the lizard skull and snapped his fingers to activate the [Concealment Barrier], encasing the two of them as well as Edith, who was right beside Miguel.
"It’s a concealment barrier," Miguel explained when he saw Erika’s confused expression.
"Do you really want to know the truth?" He asked.
Erika gritted her teeth with a nod in her head. She was determined to learn about the real culprit behind the assassins yesterday.
"The ugly truth hurts more than the beautiful lies," Miguel stated with a hint of melancholy on his face underneath the skull mask.
"I thought your family was different from the rest. They would go to such lengths to protect their members’ interests in public. But behind that bravado and glorious reputation, who would have thought that they would actually want one of their members dead in private?"
Erika immediately teared up as she heard the words that came out of Miguel’s mouth.
She felt as if her heart were stung by a sharp dagger.
’It hurts,’ tears welled at the corner of her eyes as her hand reached to grasp her chest.
She had also believed that her Red Family was very righteous.
In her mind, they were the embodiment of justice in Blazing Expanse.
Everyone was afraid to hurt, even a single Red Family member, afraid of the whole family’s retaliation. Everyone knew that each member of the Red Family was like a chick covered by an aggressive and overprotective hen.
One poke was all it would take for the hen to fight back aggressively.
This was what she had believed in even when she was captured by the bandits.
She knew that they would not hurt her, as she was a direct member of the Red Family.
However, who would have thought that the Red Family, which she so relied on, would actually send assassins to hunt her down?
Her worldview came crashing down like a building that was smashed by a humongous beast.
Like Miguel said, the ugly truth truly hurts.
Her thoughts were in chaos as her beliefs were broken by the ugly truth.
The next moment, a hand suddenly patted her shoulders, waking her up from her stupor.
Unknowingly, tears had already started to stream from the corner of her eyes.
"I know it’s tough to reconcile what you believed with what you’ve just learned. However, the truth is like a jagged mirror that forces us to see things differently. However, overcoming this harsh truth means that you will finally see the true colors of the world around you."
"After betrayal and challenge is growth, and all I can see right now is an opportunity for you to grow stronger and even more resilient."
"Believe in yourself and see through the facade that clouds your mind."
"Be your own timber for your own fire!"
...
The orange sun was beginning to set at the end of the horizon.
A group of carriages pulled by Wind Horses could be seen traveling on a dirt road with swift speed.
In the distance, a humongous rift could be seen connected by an equally large bridge.
"Finally, the Red Cliff!" Albert, who was driving a Wind Horse carriage in front, uttered with extreme relief on his face.
"Just a little more, and we will finally arrive in Red Cliff City."
