Wearing a dark-blue scholarly robe as well as the dragon-like skull of the demonized beast they killed previously, Miguel walked toward the podium calmly and leisurely.

Walking right behind him was Edith; she was wearing black and white martial artist-standard clothing, looking strong and valiant even with such a standard outfit.

These outfits were handed to them by Damian yesterday. They were nothing special, and they were only worn to pair with the theme of the event.

"Everyone, let us all welcome the newest Elder of the Red Family, Elder Journey, with a round of applause," the host announced as Miguel finally arrived at the podium.

The whole area became silent; all their attention was focused toward ’Journey’, who was now at the center of the podium.

All of them were curious about this new elder and how he popped up out of nowhere. They were also dubious of his strength. Someone who could contract a Gold Grade Beast was not someone simple, even in a big city like Blazing City.

Gold Grade stood at the peak of power here in Blazing Expanse. Each of those existences, even the Gold Grade Beasts kept to themselves and rarely fought with each other.

The addition of ’Journey’ in Red Family’s circle might change this status quo, though.

All of them came here with the intention to probe, wanting to see if the Red Family would become arrogant after acquiring a Gold Grade strength or if they would keep to themselves and maintain the checks and balances in Blazing Expanse.

Some of them came here to confirm if he was truly someone who contracted a Gold Grade Beast. They wanted to see for themselves first before taking their next course of action.

Seeing him personally on the podium, all of them could not help but frown as they realized that they could not see through him and even his beast, which was standing calmly right beside him.

In one corner, a person turned to look at the man beside him and asked, "Even your Innate Skill could not see through that draconic mask?"

The man beside him nodded his head with an ugly expression on his face. This was the first time that his Innate Skill [See Through] failed to see through ’Journey’s’ face behind the draconic mask he was wearing.

"He’s shrouded in an ethereal feeling. When I used my skill, all I could see was a cascading rainbow of colors intertwining his whole body. It’s very strange, yet marvelous," he said.

The others around them who brought experts with the same kind of Innate Skill also had frowns and ugly expressions on their faces.

Journey became even more mysterious in their eyes. An inexplicable feeling rose inside them, as they felt being seen through, instead of them seeing through ’Journey’s’ facade.

On the other hand, Miguel faced the crowd and scanned all of them leisurely with his naked eye.

He could see that most of the people who came here had a strong aura. They were strong in their own right, and he could even feel that some of them were as strong as him as a Martial Artist.

He emitted confidence and looked unbothered as he scanned the entire room that had turned silent.

Even though there were strong auras, Miguel was still confident in facing all of them at once and still left unscatched.

Not to mention the recently advanced [Shadow Steps], Miguel was not idle and also has another set of skills he managed to create during these past few days.

After realizing the effects of Innate Skills in this world, Miguel focused on creating some skills that could potentially counter some of them.

The Innate Skills of this world were just like the immortal techniques in his previous world. All of them have specific uses, and all of them have pros and cons, as well as their own weaknesses.

His Innate Skill, [Boundless Sage of Knowledge] already has the effect of being able to hide from others prying eyes and even deceive them.

What he created was instead a skill called [Mind Shield].

It can protect a user’s brain from mind attacks such as mind control or mind shock.

Another thing he managed to create was called [Psychokinesis]. This one was a very broad skill that allowed him to use his mental prowess to move objects around and even attack using mental waves to confuse the enemy during a battle. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

It has a lot of potential and applicability. It took him almost five days to convert this technique into a skill.

Although they were both level 1 for now and only had limited uses, Miguel knew for himself that they were two terrifying skills with huge potential.

Both of these skills were created with the’mastermind’ in mind. That person could control someone even from afar, so he especially created the skill in order to defend such an Innate Skill lest he fall for it unknowingly.

With these two skills, Miguel was very confident in dealing a massive concussion to everyone here unless they had a way to protect themselves from the psychic wave that he could create using [Psychokinesis].

As he observed them, Miguel also felt a lot of prying eyes trying to see through him.

A smirk appeared on his face beneath the skull mask as he ordered Edith to release her King Aura in full blast.

DOONG!

A massive gong resounded in everyone’s mind as Edith’s Gold King Aura pressed them like a boulder was on their shoulders.

Gold King Aura was also another mental-type attack. It targets the person’s mind, and the weaker and less confident they are in themselves, the more the Gold King Aura would affect them.

Miguel actually got inspiration from this skill, and hence he created a similar one, the [Psychokinesis].

There were a lot of people who were pressed down by her aura, but there were also those who managed to resist because they had a strong mind and were very confident in themselves.

One of them even stood up with a loud snort and pointed at ’Journey’ and Edith arrogantly.

"Hmmp! What do you mean by this? I want an explanation!"
