I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 62: Battle With The Serpent-Like Beast

Miguel looked around as he heard the rumble.

His senses suddenly screamed danger as his body phased into his own shadow before it appeared a few meters away from his previous location.

Without even knowing where the danger was coming, Miguel used [Shadow Steps] without hesitation, appearing on a tree’s shadow a few meters away.

The serpent-like creature fully emerged from beneath the earth. It looked around and hissed frustratingly at Miguel upon realizing that it had completely missed its prey.

The serpent-like beast was pretty massive. It was covered in black scales that shimmer with colors ranging from deep crimson to molten orange. Its elongated body was adorned with rows of razor-sharp spikes, much like a centipede’s legs.

Its head was like the head of a snake but with two horns extending out of its snout. Razor-sharp teeth could be seen underneath its terrifying mouth, criss-crossing within like the teeth of a saw. Its eyes burned with intense fiery glow as it stared menacingly at Miguel- the person who intruded on its territory, as well as its prey.

Looking at the humongous serpent-like beast, Miguel knew that he was in for a good fight. However, he knew his capabilities best and knew that he could not defeat it personally with his current strength.

At this moment, the serpent-like beast shrieked loudly before lunging towards Miguel, leaving behind scorched marks on the ground beneath it.

Miguel was quick to react and immediately used [Earth Escape], burrowing deep underground, completely evading the serpent-like beast’s attack.

The serpent-like beast hissed in frustration as it smashed into a tree. It looked around, trying to search for its elusive prey.

Meanwhile, Miguel emerged behind it a few seconds later, floating in front of him was a jet-black grimoire tinged with a hint of bronze around its four corners.

The next moment, a red-dressed lady wearing a half-mask materialized behind his back. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Knowing that he could not defeat the beast, Miguel could only summon Aaliyah, the Gold Grade Fiery Empress.

Miguel immediately relayed the situation to Aaliyah, telling her the danger and his preliminary observations regarding the serpent-like beast.

Emerging with an oppressive aura, the serpent-like beast immediately turned around as it curled its elongated body in fear and trepidation, after feeling the oppressive aura of a Golden King Beast behind it.

However, when it saw Aaliyah and sensed her strength, the serpent-like beast roared in displeasure as it felt that they were mocking it from its cowardly action earlier.

The next moment, a massive ball of flame condensed in front of its mouth. It quickly formed into something bigger than its head. The serpent-like beast did not waste any time as it immediately fired the ball of flame towards Miguel and Aaliyah.

Aaliyah and Miguel were not idle either.

Multiple fireballs as big as a head materialized around Aaliyah in a single breath. Meanwhile, Miguel casted his absolute shield, covering his body with a possible damage that it might receive.

With exquisite control, most of the fireballs evaded past the serpent-like beast’s ball of flame and only two of them directly met the massive ball of flame in the middle.

Flame versus flame, yet one would immediately be able to tell which one was hotter and more cruel.

A strange phenomena appeared as the two types of flames met in the middle. An explosion ensued, but Miguel definitely saw that before it did so, he saw the serpent-like beast’s ball of flame getting melted.

A massive explosion caused some of the trees around to get uprooted. Even Miguel who was inside the absolute felt the terrifying explosion as well. In fact, one corner of the absolute shield was actually being melted away from a stray fire made by Aaliyah.

On the other hand, the serpent-like beast immediately retreated a few meters away, trying to avoid the fireballs traveling its way.

However, Aaliyah skillfully controlled the fireballs as her body disappeared behind Miguel, materializing in a flame right behind her incinerating fireballs.

With a thought from Miguel, Aaliyah actually learned the [Flame Jump] on her first try.

Phasing out of a fire, she immediately followed up the fireballs with an [Incinerating Beam].

The serpent-like beast could only passively evade, extremely afraid of Aaliyah’s incinerating fire.

As it was being cornered by her, its body immediately went completely still, as it hardened like a rock. Its defense immediately rose to a terrifying level, even Aaliyah’s incinerating fire could not penetrate it in the short time.

"Thanks for the help," Miguel stated as he patted Aaliyah’s shoulder lightly.

Aaliyah pursed her lips and did not reject his actions. In fact, she was secretly loving it for some reason.

At the same time, Miguel looked at the new data provided by the grimoire.

And for the first time, Aaliyah finally gained her first batch of experience points.
