"Sir, is that really alright? Letting him taunt the others like that?"

One of the professors asked, looking at the screen. Portraying what’s happening at the facility.

"I think we should reconsider placing him there," another professor added, looking at the broad shouldered man standing in front of them with his hands behind his back.

Behind them stood the guides who were meant to be assigned to the students.

The figure spoke, "No, that’s how it was decided by the headmaster. He’s more than qualified for Class 1-A."

"He should learn how to behave first. And moreover," a smile spread across his face as the screen changed, displaying several students and their performance today.

’He’s not the only one with such monstrous potential.’

At the underground OK facility. Almost instantly he got on their nerves, some instantly refuting right away.

Almost instantly, many voices raised up.

"Who even are you?!"

"You, barbarian."

Darius didn’t mind that at all,rather, it made his smile wide even more. Strength was everything.

Before it got more heated, Professor Corwin stepped in. "Darius Volkran, tone it down."

"Do your bickering outside, not here." The professor spoke sternly.

Darius stopped speaking, but that sneer of his didn’t disappear. Kairos could only lament seeing such stupidity.

’He’s really up for a ride with that attitude of his.’

While Professor Corwin watched it all. All of them. The one he has to maintain. Just thinking about that, he felt like he had a headache.

He took a deep breath, calming himself and gathering himself up. This was his first year actually teaching in the academy, after serving the academy for a whole two years.

He was already prepared for such cases. Of what he had to face, but seeing his class now, he felt like it was never enough.

He gave a deep sigh. "I can only do what I can. Let’s hope for the best."

Seeing everyone quite down, he rotated a small node on the pillar beside him.

Gears spin loudly inside the pillar. The sound is drawing every attention.

Before, the eyes of the dragon flared up, releasing a harmless blue shockwave that rippled through the chamber.

Right up in the air. A huge translucent blue cube appeared. Then it split, turning into two, identical to it, positioned right beside it.

The translucent boxes flickered for a moment before letters and images appeared, showcasing their ranks, each box holding twenty students.

Instantly his gaze falls onto his picture.

’I still did pretty well,’ Kairos pondered, looking at his rank. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Beside his name, 16 was there. Still, it made Kairos quite amazed. ’What I showed there should still be something worth considering. He’s at 16.

That meant there were fifteen more people who did better then him.

Kairos gave a dry laugh, ’Great, this is really great,’ but putting aside those, Kairos looked at Darius’s shocked expression.

He smirked, seeing that kind of reaction on his arrogant face.

Despite Darius lasting the longest among all, he was ranked last. And instantly fuming with anger, he shouted out loud.

’I don’t believe this! ’How is he ranked first?’ He uttered, pointing at the calm white-haired dude.

Kairos, Also took notice of him. Being ranked one means among the class 1-B, he’s the best.

"I don’t believe this! How is he ranked first?!" Darius again shouted. He couldn’t believe that scrawny looking white hair was ranked first before him!

It should have been him who was ranked first. He could feel everyone’s gaze and some embarrassment about what he did earlier.

He can’t back up from it!

"Professor Corwin, there might be a mistake; I was the last one to come out."

Just hearing all that, Professor Corwin had a headache, rubbing his temple.

"Quiet down, Darius. The academy judges on things you can’t perceive... Everything is as accurate as it gets."

Darius gritted his teeth hearing that again, looking at Nathan’s calm face. He can’t accept that.

"Quiet down, you barbarian. I’m ranked below you. But I’m pretty much sure. I’m better than you." Felix Nauvierr said calmly, picking on his ears.

"You shut up, you trash of seas."

Felix’s eyes twisted. Before his head turned out. "You damn barbarian, I’ve had enough. Come fight me, you piece of jungle shit. You were already on my nerves from yesterday. Come at me."

He uttered and swing his hand, Instantly a spear materialized on his hand. Making many look at it. Including Profesor corwin.

That’s a soul gear! Many looked at it, staring. That weapon indicates! They have the potential, and that’s the best thing they can have and are most suited for.

"You.... No, Before you" Darius spoke turning head around to Profesor corwin.

"Professor, I don’t agree with the ranking system!" He stopped before pointing his hand towards Nathan, who remained calm all this time.

"I want to have a duel with him!" The place felt silent; Nathan raised an eyebrow hearing that.

While Professor Corwin was about to retort to that! Questioning the ranking means questioning the academy. That’s absurd!

But before he could speak up. A message floated before. He was shocked seeing that blabbering it out.

"Will this really be ok, Commander?"

The message flickered. "Yes, proceed. I will take care of the rest."

Professor Corwin felt reluctant seeing that. But proceeded anyway.

"Darius Volkran and Nathan Lumainn are to have a duel! The result will decide who gets ranked first."

Instantly, a sneer appeared on Various’ face as he looked at Nathan. While Nathan could only give a deep sigh walking up to the professor.

Many looked at it carefully. They were interested. A battle of Rank 1 and Rank 2 wouldn’t be something ordinary, and moreover, they can see why they are ranked so high.

Teresa was also nodding, feeling a relief inward.

"Everything is still going according to the story." She gave a subtle glance at kiros before looking at the ranking.

"Except for him, that is," she murmured what happened yesterday and how his rank so high. As she clearly remembers, he wasn’t ranked so high, as the first arc of the novel heavily focused on the rankings. Kairos Nozvan wasn’t that high! Rather, he should be at the lowest ranking.

While Darius sneered, pointing his hand, a huge one sided sword materialized in his hand. Another soul gear!

Professor corwin, "You may begin."

Instantly both of them moved. Teresa also looked at it the most. She would be able to see the main character in action finally.
