Chapter 559: Combat Module Optimization

10 Days Later...

After ten days of focused work, Nash had finally finished optimizing the [Combat Module System].

"Now I should be able to fight a tier 6 War Emperor without any problem."

The changes in the module system weren’t many.

Aside from becoming faster, more precise, and more adaptive, it had also undergone a major overhaul of its logic processing.

Rather than responding only after calculating the opponent’s moves, it could now simulate all the way to the end of a fight, provided it had enough data.

That’s right: before a battle even began, as long as he had sufficient information on his opponent, the [Combat Module System] could instantly simulate a path to victory.

It would continue refining that path throughout the fight, preventing any unexpected variable from overturning the result. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

In other words, unless his opponent was truly unbeatable, the longer they fought, the higher his chances of winning.

The inspiration had come from Thomas, whose ability allowed him to simulate anything in his mind.

Nash hadn’t replicated it perfectly, but he had managed to incorporate the core processing logic into the system.

Coupled with his runic mastery, which could disperse an opponent’s attacks, he felt confident he could advance to Gold ranking single-handedly.

Unfortunately, as a Void Venerate, he still lacked a reliable way to actually hurt high-tier opponents.

Using the celestial beast to harm them from the inside out was a trick that wouldn’t hold up against more experienced fighters, especially as he rose in rank and more eyes began studying his patterns and habits.

"I just need to get stronger."

The tier 8 treasure set from the Covenant of Truth gave him the power to pressure higher-ranked opponents, but it was finite.

Once the energy inside was drained, he’d be left waiting for it to recharge at the worst possible moment.

Ultimately, the only real solution was to increase his own strength.

"What about the Severance Knife?" Nash suddenly thought.

The Severance Knife was a growth-type conceptual weapon capable of cutting anything of a rank higher than its own.

Currently at the tier 4 realm, it could slice through anything that hadn’t gone beyond tier 5.

Unfortunately, advancing it required killing one billion tier 5 dark beasts, which was not a small task.

Even if he slaughtered a tier 5 dark beast every second, it would take over thirty years to hit the required number.

Unable to meet the conditions for its growth, Nash had set it aside for now.

"There should be some change once I unlock the first seal."

The Severance Knife was a fragmented weapon.

To unlock its full power, he needed to gather the other pieces and merge them into one.

According to what he’d read, the original had been shattered into a million shards, scattered across the Dark Plane.

Fortunately, he only needed ten fragments to unlock the first seal, the Elemental Severance.

So far, he already has eight and just needs two more.

"Two left. I should be able to find them fairly quickly."

The best place to look was inside a secret realm. With the Star Alliance spread across the Dark Plane, a trip or two should be enough.

"I can also test the [Combat Module System] while I’m at it."

Leaving his room, Nash first made his way to the Star Alliance’s internal data server.

Julius was still in seclusion, so he couldn’t ask for help.

Without any other choice, Nash could only search on his own.

---

Arriving at the Data Server Facility on the Neon Plane, Nash walked in unimpeded as various members greeted him along the way.

Going straight to the core of the facility, he began searching for any available secret realms in the Dark Plane that would be opening soon.

A few minutes later, he had found three, all set to open within the week.

Aside from that, he also uploaded all the secret realms that will be opening in the next few months.

Having found what he needed, he left without lingering.

---

Back in his training chamber, Nash opened his Chronos Communication Token and input several coordinates.

Although he could enter the virtual world using soul power alone, it wasn’t advisable.

Besides the random spatial transportation, it also drained massive amounts of energy.

Using an external device was far more efficient than forcing his way through on his own, especially since the Chronos Communication Token carried special privileges.

By connecting to the Void Administrator, it could request direct transport to any coordinates he set.

Although it costs a significant amount of merits, with the stock and profits the Star Alliance had been generating lately, it was nothing.

"It’s set."

---

A Few Days Later...

Nash stepped out of the last secret realm, looking hollow.

"Nothing. How am I this unlucky?"

After clearing all three secret realms, no matter how many points and honors he had accumulated, without the fragments he needed, none of it mattered.

"Is it because they were only low-level secret realms?" he wondered.

The area had long since been explored and picked clean.

Most mid and high-level secret realms were either no longer accessible or would take far too long to reopen, which time he didn’t have.

"Should I take my chances on mid-level secret realms?"

He wasn’t sure, but his odds of finding Severance Knife fragments in those should be higher.

After all, the seven he already had were all found in mid and high-grade secret realms.

Then it hit him.

"Elizabeth’s luck ability!"

If he remembered correctly, Elizabeth’s genetic ability could grant her or someone else an additional dose of luck.

Although intangible and somewhat of a fallacy, it should be able to help him.

Straightening his clothes, Nash headed back to reality.

---

Arriving at Elizabeth’s training chamber, Nash didn’t go straight in.

Using the [Sensing Module System], he peered into the room to check whether she was at a critical juncture in her training.

Seeing she was simply absorbing elements, Nash let out a sigh of relief as he pressed the notification panel beside the door.

"Hmm? Nash?"

Opening her eyes from training, Elizabeth guessed it was Nash outside.

Sure enough, opening the door, she quickly leaped into his arms.

"Elizabeth." Nash smiled, pulling her into a hug.

Now that they had confirmed their relationship, such intimacy came natural.

"I might need your help."

"Of course. What do you need?"

"I need to find some fragments of the Severance Knife."
