Chapter 62: First Fight In Dark Plane

"A trial in the Dark Plane?" Hearing this, Nash couldn’t help but frown.

The Dark Plane was no ordinary place.

Strength alone wasn’t enough; one also needed adaptability and resourcefulness.

One wrong move and it could cost a life.

Meanwhile, despite the urgency of the situation, Camilla wasn’t shocked. In fact, she seemed a little excited.

Ever since she first heard about the Dark Plane, she had been eager to go inside, wanting to experience the front lines of the universe’s battlefield.

Unfortunately, their academy strictly forbade them from entering without sufficient strength and preparation.

Even taking the Dark Void Trial was banned. If caught, they would be expelled immediately.

"I’ll see you later, Nash... I’ll wait for you to catch up," Camilla said before logging out of the virtual world.

As Camilla left, Melina turned to Nash with a cold gaze.

"You’re Nash?"

"Yeah?"

"If I were you, I’d stay away from Major Camilla. You’re not from the same world."

Without giving him a chance to reply, she walked away.

"Not from the same world? Tsk, what an arrogant subordinate." Nash shook his head, unfazed by her words.

With his unique talent and the Runic Space, it was only a matter of time before he caught up to these so-called elites.

The Dark Plane was an equal place; whether it was status, strength, or wealth, it meant nothing there.

He never saw himself as inferior to anyone.

Determined, he left to prepare for his journey to the dark plane.

---

A few days later, after entrusting Amber, Hector, and Emily with the affairs of Eastdam State, Nash entered the Virtual Dark Pod.

Arriving in his familiar virtual space, he clicked on the Dark Plane tab.

[Last Location: Lantern Shelter]

[Proceed to enter?]

"Enter..."

---

[Welcome to the Lantern Shelter!]

Feeling the familiar atmosphere, Nash couldn’t help but look around.

"I’m back..."

It had been a few months since he last set foot in this place.

Thinking about the dangers and opportunities beyond those towering walls, he quickly turned around, searching for the Nova Administrative Hall.

Established by the Nova Sector, this place housed official government facilities.

After asking around, he soon found the main hall of the Lantern Shelter.

"Hello~ How can I help you?"

Seeing Nash’s handsome appearance, the receptionist couldn’t help but stare in awe.

"I’m here to get my battle badge," Nash said with a frown.

It seemed his face was still as eye-catching as ever. He needed to find a way to cover it up soon.

"I see. Then, please follow me."

After registering his virtual ID and confirming the rank he achieved in the Dark Void Qualification Test, Nash quickly received his battle badge.

Looking at the badge, made of an unknown wood-like material and etched with three stars, he couldn’t help but smile.

The receptionist also didn’t dare to be privy, sensing Nash’s unapproachable aura.

After finalizing his registration, she didn’t even ask for his name.

Having got what he wanted, Nash headed straight for the city gates.

Unlike before, this time, the guards didn’t stop him after seeing his battle badge.

Stepping out of the shelter, he immediately noticed a difference.

Although the sun hung high, a faint chill crept over his body.

With his vision being at a high saturation rate, he could see an indistinguishable energy lingering in the air, something different from void energy.

"A newcomer?"

"Hahaha, is he scared out of his wits?"

"Tsk, I wonder how long this pretty boy will survive."

Seeing Nash frozen in place, most of the void warriors leaving the shelter assumed he was a newcomer.

But as their eyes fell on his battle badge, their expressions quickly changed.

"Three stars?!"

"Which prodigy came to visit our little shelter?!"

There was no doubt Nash was new to the Dark Plane.

Yet, seeing his battle badge marked with three stars, they could only assume he was a prodigy from a powerful force.

Unlike ordinary recruits who ventured into the Dark Plane as soon as they obtained a battle badge, true prodigies trained until they reached at least three stars before setting out.

Not wanting to offend such a young master, the onlookers hurriedly turned away, focusing on their own agenda.

Meanwhile, after steadying himself, Nash proceeded on his journey.

---

After walking for about fifteen minutes, Nash arrived at a vast stretch of grassland.

The only difference was that instead of green, the grass was pure white.

[Arrived at Silver Grass Plain: Danger Level – 2 Stars]

"This really feels like a game world!" Nash thought in amazement.

If not for the ever-present danger of the Dark Plane, he might have forgotten that this was a parallel plane of the universe.

As he stepped onto the white grassland, a sudden sense of danger crept up on him.

[White Rabbit: Danger Level – 1 Star]

"A Dark Creature?"

Nash frowned as he spotted a white rabbit charging toward him.

With its soft fur and innocent eyes, it looked nothing like the terrifying, bloodthirsty monsters he expected.

"Aren’t Dark Creatures supposed to be ugly and menacing? What’s with this cute rabbit?"

However, as the rabbit approached, its mouth suddenly stretched unnaturally, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth. Its eyes gleaming with a red, sinister glow.

Before Nash could react, his [Combat Module System] took over, dodging on instinct, delivering a swift counter-kick.

"What the hell?! Did it just hypnotize me?"

Snapping out of his daze, Nash wiped his nonexistent sweat.

If not for the [Combat Module System], he might have already lost an arm or a leg.

Although injuries sustained in the Dark Plane didn’t transfer to reality, they weakened the soul, leaving a person fatigued for days or weeks.

"Still alive?"

Despite the powerful kick, the rabbit wasn’t dead. It lunged again, eager to sink its sharp teeth into him.

Without a weapon at hand, Nash resorted to brute force, smashing his fists into the creature, pounding it into the ground.

[White Rabbit Killed: +0.5 Merit]

"Hah... That thing had way too much vitality!" Nash muttered, shaking his aching hands.

Although the rabbit wasn’t powerful, its resilience was absurdly high.
