I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 32: Bloodline Traders! IV
Chapter 32 - Bloodline Traders! IV
Incapacitated, Rex gathered his mana near around his face and resisted whatever the boss had done to him. After some struggle, he finally managed to speak.
"Please... listen, Giroldus," Rex rumbled with cracking voice.
When the voice reached his ears Giroldus narrowed his eyes. With Rex focusing all his strength around his face, speaking wasn't too hard. After all, the difference in their rank was just—one star.
Even though I can't move my body, what better weapon than a tongue? he thought, and began.
"Can you recognize me, Giroldus?" Rex said, his voice shaky but deliberate.
Giroldus focused his eyes, his brows shooting up. "You... you're that 100% appraiser I wanted to kill," he said, pointing at Rex.
"Exactly. I was invited here by this man named Rurik," Rex said carefully. "He led me here and wanted to kill you along with his brother, Murik."
"Bullshit," Murik's voice cut through Rex's speech.
But Rex continued, unfazed. "They said once you were dead, they'd give me a beast from your collection."
Giroldus stared, unblinking. "Why should I believe you?"
"Yeah, if you're with us, why did you injure my brother?" Murik added.
Rex smiled. "After he helped me infiltrate and kill all the men here, he arrogantly said something... advantageous to me. That's when I decided to take him as a hostage. If I can side with the boss," Rex looked at Giroldus, "why should I work with his subordinates?"
Giroldus pressed in, "What did he say?"
Rex gave a crooked smile. His tone unwavering. With an exhale, he began, "Something no outsider would know." He paused, letting the tension build before whispering, "About that night... when you pissed yourself in front of Brevil's corpse. How you begged not to be next."
Murik flinched and sneakily glanced at Giroldus. Rurik, the hostage, parted his mouth slightly in shock.
"Funny, right?" Rex added, low and smooth. "Said you cried for your mother, too. Almost made me feel sorry for you. Almost." He pressed in, adding fuel to the fire already burning in Giroldus's eyes.
"Boss, he's lying! I don't know how he found out, but everyone knows it's forbidden to talk about that here," Murik tried to calm Giroldus, but Rex wouldn't let that happen.
"Forbidden? Rurik was laughing the whole time. Even went as far as describing how you cried with snot running down your face. And what did he call you?" Rex paused, glancing at Rurik, pretending to recall. "Ah, yes. He called you the Pisslord," he said, locking eyes with Rurik.
Whoosh.
Crunch.
An axe flew through the air, striking Rurik square in the chest. With a shocked gasp, he fell to his knees, eyes dull, as if he had more to say—but his body gave out. He collapsed... lifeless.
[Taming Complete]
[Subjugated Rank: {Murik (2–Star)}]
{Shut up and listen. If you want revenge, try to distract him. If I can move, I'll kill him immediately,} Rex spoke telepathically.
{Why...should I?} Murik replied hesitatingly.
{I know how much you cared for your brother.}
{You bastard... wait until I deal with Giroldus.}
While they communicated, Giroldus recalled his axe using his skill and frowned at the silence, keeping an eye on his right-hand man.
When the conversation ended and Rex smiled, Murik moved—fast and silently... almost too silently. Like the silence that had once filled the room when Rex was with Rurik.
Noticing it, Giroldus turned and smirked. When he did, Murik froze in his tracks—much like Rex and Darius earlier.
Giroldus said something, though no one could hear it through the silence. But if one read his expression, they'd know he'd already expected this.
The returned axe flew again. This time, it struck Murik's head directly. With more life than a 1–star, he released a choked roar—then collapsed.

two?" He rested the recalled axe on his shoulder. Murik's blood dripped steadily—
Plop.
Rex and Darius still couldn't move, restrained by Giroldus's skill. Rex frowned. "We're on your side! Release us."
"Hahaha! Do I look like I have moron written on my forehead?" Giroldus sneered. "Pisslord, huh?... You're dying, boy," he drawled. His anger flared, his voice dripping menace, as he walked toward Rex—slow, steady, deliberate, like a predator.
"Shit," Rex grimaced, trying to push his immobile body. But it didn't even twitch. He was completely paralyzed.
{Arcane, kill him.}

Arcane appeared in a regal flash. The moment she did, a half-formed lightning bolt crackled, ready to impale its target. But before it could launch—
Giroldus's gaze turned toward her. As he bellowed, "[Paralyze]!"
Arcane crashed from the air. But like Rex, she resisted with everything she had. The lightning bolt crackled wildly—but due to her imbalance as she fell, it struck the man's leg instead of his heart.
"Ah," Giroldus grunted in pain. His red eyes locked onto Rex with vengeance. Giroldus's target had never been Arcane. Only Rex. Who would be foolish enough to kill a beast that might have a bloodline?
{Father, Father!}
{Don't worry. Everything is alright.} Rex calmed her.
"I'll take good care of that goddamned beast," Giroldus limped forward—not slowly now, but with a quick, purposeful stride toward Rex.
Darius wanted to speak, but couldn't even move his lips. As he began to give up, his eyes dulled. What strength? What dream? he laughed bitterly inwardly.
"KILL YOURSELF." Rex's whisper echoed like thunder.
[Commandment Engaged: ❮Tamer's Authority❯ {Giroldus} Irrefutable Decree: ❮"Kill Yourself."❯]
Giroldus, mid-motion, reversed the sword and drove it into his own neck. Blood poured over Rex's face. Giroldus's eyes widened in shock. He collapsed, still clutching the sword.
As he fell, the skill [Paralyze] was lifted.
"Rex! Rex!" Darius rushed to him the moment he was free and checked to make sure he was okay. Confirming it, he lifted Rex up. They both stood, staring at Giroldus's corpse.
Rex placed Arcane into the Tamer's Sanctuary only now. If he had done it earlier, Giroldus might have grown suspicious and killed him before the taming was complete.
"Rex... we almost died."
"That we did," Rex agreed, shaking his head. "But look what we've got. Skills, and no enemies. I'd say we won—and that's what matters."

Darius frowned, finding no words.
Rex continued, "Let's go. We've got to meet Lady Seraphine at the auction house."
As they left...
A cloaked figure landed in the chamber, eyes glowing. He looks around... at blood and bodies.
"Who...?"
