Chapter 80: 80: Cerberus

At the exit of the Champion Secret Realm.

Robert stood on alert with three priests and more than ten professional medical staff.

Today was only the sixth day since the realm opened.

There were still more than twenty days left.

In previous years, people were already seriously injured by this point.

Caution was mandatory.

"This batch of champions is impressive," Robert said with a smile.

"It is already day six, and no one has come out injured yet."

Priest One nodded.

"Yeah. By this time in past years, we were already overwhelmed."

"You can tell this group is on a different level."

Priest Two sighed.

"Hopefully they all make it through safely."

"That way we can relax a bit."

Priest Three agreed.

"Exactly."

As they chatted, a large group suddenly rushed toward them at full speed.

Robert’s heart sank.

This usually meant someone was badly hurt.

"What happened?"

"Who is injured?" Robert asked quickly.

"Well... we are not exactly sure who it is," someone replied awkwardly.

They placed a charred body in front of Robert.

"What the hell?" Robert jumped.

"This bad?"

"Did he run into a high level fire attribute monster?"

"Priests, hurry."

The three priests worked together immediately.

The severe burns began to heal.

Fresh skin grew back, smooth and pale like a newborn’s.

"Whew," Robert exhaled.

"Only one so far."

"That is still much better than previous years."

Before he could finish relaxing, more than ten wriggling lumps of flesh were carried over.

"What is this?" Robert frowned.

"Low level slime monsters?"

"No, Robert," one champion said with lingering fear.

"These are Garen and his group."

"What?"

Robert’s eyes widened.

They almost popped out of their sockets.

"You are telling me these meat piles are all people?"

The group nodded slowly.

Robert felt dizzy.

He nearly fainted on the spot.

He had just praised this year’s champions.

Now they had turned into meatballs.

The three priests were stunned.

Priest One muttered, "What happened to make them like this?"

Priest Two shook his head.

"Were they crushed by some gigantic monster?"

"This is tragic."

Priest Three sighed.

"Indeed."

Restoring more than ten piles of flesh into living people was a terrifying workload.

Robert immediately called in several high level healers from Bitnoris.

After inspecting the remains, their eyes lit up.

If they succeeded, this would be a major highlight in their careers.

Soon, the realm exit became extremely busy.

On the other side, Zayne and Eva were just as busy.

They chased in the direction where the Treasureback Golden Turtle fled.

They found nothing.

No turtle.

Not even turtle droppings.

"That bunch of bastards got off too easy," Zayne said coldly.

If Garen had not interfered, the turtle never would have escaped.

Now that it had been scared once, it was likely hiding somewhere deep.

Finding it again would be extremely difficult.

"Forget it."

"Let us level up instead."

Zayne gave up the chase.

The realm was enormous.

Searching with just the two of them was like looking for a needle in the ocean.

Zayne led Eva deeper into the Champion Secret Realm.

After awakening his second talent, he favored Fireball even more.

Forbidden Spells required casting time.

That gave enemies time to react.

Fireball was instant.

Under Absolute Ascension, it reached Forbidden Spell power anyway.

It was perfect for ambushes.

They cleared monsters rapidly and pushed onward.

Soon, they encountered several terrifying groups of enemies.

The closer they got to the center, the more monsters appeared.

They were stronger as well.

Level 30 monsters began to show up.

Zayne’s expression grew serious.

Level 30 monsters could not be instantly killed by a single Forbidden Spell.

It took two.

"That is enough for today," Zayne said.

The moon was already high.

His mana was fine, but his mind was exhausted.

Even with immortality, rest was still necessary.

He lit a campfire.

Eva was assigned to keep watch.

After all, she had gained plenty of free experience.

Zayne took out Starfall Skytrace.

He struck the back of his head with the flat of the blade.

He fell asleep instantly, like a baby.

Eva listened to his steady breathing.

She muttered softly, "What a strange guy."

Growing up, almost every man near her had bad intentions.

Nine out of ten were creeps.

Zayne was different.

He did not see her as a woman.

He barely saw her as a person.

In his eyes, she felt like a useful tool.

Her thoughts drifted as she stared at his sleeping face.

In the darkness, three crimson eyes stared at them from afar.

Eva suddenly shivered.

She turned around sharply.

There was nothing.

"That is weird," she murmured.

"Was I imagining it?"

The next instant, a deadly sense of danger struck her.

"Zayne, watch out."

She did not hesitate.

She grabbed the sleeping Zayne and dove aside.

Sizzle.

Something splashed onto her back.

A violent burning pain followed.

It felt like sulfuric acid.

Eva gasped sharply.

Zayne woke instantly.

He looked at Eva’s back. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

Her clothes were eaten away by thick green liquid.

Even her pale skin was badly corroded.

Zayne frowned.

He looked into the darkness.

His pupils contracted.

His expression turned grim.

"This is a high level monster."

"Hells Three Headed Hound."

"Cerberus."
