I Created Scientific Magic-Chapter 685 - 567: The Stellar ’Gas Station’ and Geometric Civilization
Chapter 685 -567: The Stellar ‘Gas Station’ and Geometric Civilization
“Supreme Officer, the target has been completely cleared!”
Aboard the disc-shaped starship, the elongate creature turned towards the officer behind him after clearing the civilized planet, and a cascade of colors began to flicker across the surface of its skin, its organ of communication.
By emitting electromagnetic waves of various frequencies to transmit messages, they were capable of real-time communication even in the vacuum of space.
“Very well, having taken this star system, we needn’t worry about the reserves of Element Seven,” the officer’s body lit up with a red glow, signifying delight.
The officer’s form was that of a pointed, isosceles triangle, seeming out of place among the elongate crew members and exuding an indescribable authority.
For a civilization that had complete mastery over physical and genetic alteration, capable of weaving their bodily forms at will, appearance was not significant.
The reason for adopting these shapes stemmed from a reverence for geometric forms, with most of the civilization’s upper echelons firmly believing that geometric shapes, to some extent, represented the truth of the universe.
However, morphological alterations followed strict standards; the lower-class citizens couldn’t even adopt complete geometric forms, and elongate rectangles became the choice for the overwhelming majority.
Triangles, squares, polygons and the like were the distinguishing features of higher-class citizens…
Above them were circles, a shape only the elders and Supreme Ruler were entitled to assume.
Typically, the higher the status, the rounder the shape!
This was why they were known as the Geometric Civilization!
The importance of Element Seven went without saying. If not for discovering this peculiar, spacetime-affecting material over a thousand years ago, prompting a scientific research boom, they likely would still be a modestly developed Level Four civilization, barely advancing into the star system level, let alone surviving their recent conflict with the silicon-based life forms.
At this thought, the colors radiating from the officer shifted from red to black, indicative of shock and anger.
Those damned silicon-based monsters from the neighboring quad-spiral galaxy, spreading endlessly like locusts across the star systems, plundered all resources, converting them into armies and warships for endless warfare, and refused any negotiations. They had become the ultimate foe of the Geometric Civilization.
Without Element Seven, their homeworld, situated on the border of two galaxies, would likely have fallen long ago.
“Supreme Officer, we have just received a distress signal!” suddenly, a square-shaped subordinate transmitted a message, breaking into the officer’s thoughts.
“Can you determine the location and the distance?” the officer calmed the fluctuating emotions, concealing his thoughts, somewhat anxious over whether the homeworld might have been attacked…
“The message appears to come from seventy light-years away, it’s not a transmission from the homeworld…” A rectangular appendage extended from the square subordinate’s body into the void, touching it lightly. A complex star system map suddenly materialized overhead.
It was filled with closely packed star points.
Each point represented a star; even the position of every planet was meticulously annotated. Yet nearly half the region remained obscured in mist, displaying only the corresponding stars without revealing specific details about the star systems within.
These areas were either under the jurisdiction of powerful civilizations or were relatively dangerous or peripheral zones. The square crew member pointed to a location on the fringe.
The officer’s emotion surged once more, now a bemused light red, for according to records, they had dispatched no fleets to that region.
“The communication uses a very old encryption method, deemed obsolete and discarded over a thousand years ago according to the records,” the square subordinate reported.
“Is it a remnant vessel from that exploration mission?” the officer responded quickly.
After a new round of technological breakthroughs, their homeworld had become one of the most powerful civilizations within the observable cosmic region, embarking on an ambitious expedition to chart a complete map of the entire star system.
They sent out seventy fleets, each comprising a main battleship and two Escort Ships.
The numbers were sparse, but these were the most advanced ships of the time.
Unlike certain civilizations that favored victory by numbers, they preferred quality over quantity. As the elders would say, producing cannon fodder was pointless, a sheer waste of resources.
What about routine patrols through star fields? Decommissioned old warships or civilian ships equipped with weapons would suffice for the task.
However, the expedition did not fare well. Only half of the seventy exploration fleets returned, greatly dampening the zeal of the expansionists. It also provoked a mighty enemy, dragging their homeworld into an endless quagmire of war.
It was precisely because of the continuous wars that they really couldn’t spare much effort to search the entire star domain for those fleets that had mysteriously disappeared. They could only silently swallow the bitter fruit and mark these regions as dangerous areas.
Having consulted the database, the square adjutant naturally also considered that the message might have been sent by an exploration fleet, and his body quickly emitted electromagnetic waves of communication once again.
“The communication we received is intermittent; they seem to have discovered a new and very powerful energy source… perhaps capable of rivaling Element 7!”
An energy source that could rival Element 7? The Supreme Ruler’s interest was immediately piqued, as this could mean a new technological breakthrough, even the key to the geometric civilization’s victory over those silicon-based monsters!
“I believe that the civilization we’re dealing with is probably inferior to ours in technological level. Although they’ve destroyed the exploration fleets sent from the home planet, they did not completely annihilate them, or else we would not be receiving this message,” the square adjutant suggested.
“No, you’ve missed a very important detail. The message is from a thousand years ago when the other party had the technology to block communications, yet now they let the message get out, which I suspect might be a trap!” another adjutant countered.
Although the exploration fleets from a thousand years ago were technologically imperfect, they were equipped with quantum communication technology; within this star system, there was virtually no delay in communication.
It made no sense for the communication to have been intercepted back then, but to be able to get through now.
Colorful light waves flashed incessantly within the spaceship, indicative of the increasingly heated debate.
The Supreme Ruler also fell into a dilemma.
This could be a rare opportunity, but it could also be a dangerous trap…
Over the past thousand years, due to the spur of war, the advancement of geometric civilization’s technology was not slow. The ships had been upgraded several times, but in fact, there hadn’t been any real technological breakthroughs… only improvements on the existing foundation, enhancing performance or the power of weapons.
He had heard that some top scholars on the home planet had made some headway in the research of the Curvature Engine, which was key to developing faster-than-light ships, but it would still take some time to be actually equipped.
And because of the war, they didn’t have much force to spare…
However, they soon didn’t have to think about it anymore because a communication from the home planet had come through.
The message was concise: head to the location where the signal originated and judge the situation for themselves.
If the civilization that destroyed the exploration fleets is relatively weak, directly annihilate it, retrieve that special energy, and bring it back.
If the technological level is high, attempt to coexist peacefully, indicating that the exploration fleets previously sent were actually intended for friendly exchanges, but some misunderstandings inadvertently occurred.
For this command, the Supreme Ruler did not hesitate to choose implementation, assessing the method of interaction based on strength and threat level has been a consistent practice of geometric civilization.
In the vast expanse of the universe lies infinite possibilities; no one knows how many unknown elements and energies there are, which could allow a weaker civilization to surpass a powerful one in just thousands of years,
For instance, the civilization they had previously destroyed posed no real threat to the home planet, but they found a large reserve of Element 7 within the star system, indicating that the adversary could undergo a technological revolution at any moment.
It is undoubtedly foolish to rely on the enemy’s kindness. There is no room for two powerful star system-level civilizations in this region. Rather than having disputes in hundreds of years, it’s better to resolve them now.
“Where is our nearest coordinate to this star system?” The Supreme Ruler’s body was surrounded by white light waves, a cold expression.
“Near the Xiha’er Nebula, about two hundred forty atomic hours (eight light-years) from the target star system, and within fifty atomic hours from us, there are also two other fleets. We could possibly request support!” the adjutant replied.
The Supreme Ruler nodded and, after issuing the command for reinforcement, piloted the spaceship to hover above the crimson star, dazzling in its brilliance.
Immediately after, the bottom of the ship suddenly opened up, and four broad arms extended from the interior; space began to distort and shape-shift…
Under the powerful gravitational pull, the star’s surface energy was rapidly extracted, forming a huge plasma flame vortex, feeding a continuous stream of fusion energy into the spaceship.
The recent war had been resolved in a crushing victory, but the consumption of energy was no small amount. Luckily, they were situated within a star system, able to replenish their energy supply promptly…
The Supreme Ruler quietly waited for the energy reserves to be filled before slowly selecting a knuckle-sized sphere and placing it into the launch port.
The velocity of this launch was very ‘slow,’ not even reaching one-tenth the speed of light. After flying for an atomic hour, the sphere began to collapse rapidly inward, with the surrounding space curling inward, forming a temporary wormhole swiftly.
The geometric aliens inside the spaceship entered into hibernation, and three Escort Ships sped out at sub-light speeds, plunging into the surging temporal node.
