I Don't Want To Be An Omega In My Sister's Trashy Reverse Harem [BL]-Chapter 185: A Little Bit Of Trouble!
Rin arrived at the Vortellion estate a few minutes ago and was taken to the eastern Wing of the house. Winter kept looking around, repeating the same word every ten steps.
"Wow, it’s beautiful,"
Rin looked at him, and his lip curled into a smile. He then looked around at the guards and maids, apart from Sasha, who were escorting him. He was sure that Lucien had planned all of this. It was just so his father wouldn’t approach him at all.
’Isn’t he a little bit overprotective?’ he asked himself.
"Young Master asked that we prepare this room for you. If you need anything at all, please, ring the bell,"
"Sure, let me know when he arrives,"
"Yes, sire," they bowed and left, leaving Rin, Winter and Sasha inside the large room. It was just like the other rooms in the house, but, this one was filled with sweets, books and refreshments.
"Are these for us?" Winter asked, pointing at the large table filled with snacks and drinks.
"I... guess so," Rin folded his hands.
"I’ll join the guards to wait outside," Sasha said, already heading to the door.
Rin’s eyes followed him till he spoke.
"I never said you could leave. If you want to protect us, keep an eye on my brother," he said.
Sasha wanted to refuse but he just nodded his head and stood behind Winter, whose hands were filled with cookies. He even tossed one to Sunny and handed one to Sasha.
Sasha looked at it but didn’t move a finger. Rin was watching him and suddenly, they exchanged eye contact.
"His little hands must be trembling already," Rin said, tilting his head. Sasha groaned inwardly as he took the cookies from Winter. Winter clapped his hand and continued eating.
Sasha wanted to keep it in his hand but he unconsciously took a bite. His eyes widened at how sweet it was. He doesn’t enjoy eating sweets, but this one was different; it tasted milky and rich. He took another bite and caught Rin looking at him. His face flushed red as he slowed his chewing.
"Stay with Winter, will you? I’ll be back,"
"Huh? Where are you headed to?" Sasha asked. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Brother?" Even Winter was surprised that he got up.
"Don’t worry. I’m not going far. I just want to check the library. Count to a hundred and I’ll be back," he winked and without waiting for them to speak, he left. Sasha and Winter exchanged glances with each other.
"You want another one?" Winter asked.
"...Yes, thank you," Sasha replied.
.
.
Rin stretched his hands as he walked to the library. He wasn’t alone since he had the guards stalking behind him. Just as he thought, Lucien had planted them with him to make sure he was safe.
He looked around to make sure he wasn’t lost. He wasn’t used to the Vortellion estate yet, so he had no idea where the library was. Though, he had been in it once.
"Sire... You’re heading towards the wrong direction," one of the guards said.
Rin stopped walking and turned to the guard who was a bit flustered. Of course, Rin was gorgeous, as anyone would say, and anyone who looked at him would wish they were in a relationship with him.
"What’s in that direction?" He asked.
"It’s the Lord’s main building. The young master ordered that we make sure you do not end up there," the other one spoke.
Rin rolled his eyes as he was a bit glad they stopped him. He didn’t want to see Evan Vortellion even if he had given up on him.
"Lead me to the library then,"
"This way," he said and they started walking again. He got to the library and entered. The guards waited outside and Rin started studying the shelves, looking for something to read. He knew that there were no books about demons, so he just grabbed anything about history that he couldn’t read in the palace.
There were a bunch of them...
"Oh! I didn’t know this book had a second edition!" He said, grabbing it and placing it with the ones he had gathered.
When he moved to the next aisle, the book shifted and fell off. Rin couldn’t catch it because of the pile in his hand. However, someone caught it before it reached the floor.
Rin’s eyes trailed the floor till he lifted his head and his eyes met with Evan’s. Evan paid no attention to him but the book.
"Great choice," Evan said, placing the book back.
"Uh... Thank you, Your Grace," he said and turned to leave. He thought Evan would follow him or stop him, but Evan turned away and went the other way.
Rin heaved a breath of relief. His heart was pounding hard when he saw Evan. He suddenly remembered the past when he was in his carriage and Evan broke his bones just so he wouldn’t run.
"That man is crazy," he grumbled to himself. "Relax Myung... I’m not the same person that I was at that time. If that monster gets close to me, I’ll use my gun," he whispered to himself and picked up the last book. After getting what he wanted, he placed them all on a table. He was thinking of putting them in his inventory. It would be better than carrying them. But he realised that if he wanted to read it in the room, he would have to use his inventory in front of his brother and Sasha. Or even Lucien.
He rubbed his chin after thinking too hard, and he decided to carry them. He walked towards the door and once again, Evan was there to open the door for him.
Annoyed, Rin snapped his gaze at him.
"Are you stalking me?"
"What?" Evan asked, lifting a book he had just grabbed when he saw Rin leaving. "I came to get this because my fiancée wanted it. Why would you think I’m stalking you?"
"Is that so?" Rin asked and Evan nodded, not even smiling. "I’m glad to see you’ve given up on something you can’t reach,"
"What do you mean?" Evan asked but Rin just smiled and walked out. The guards helped Rin carry the books and immediately took him out of there. They were supposed to make sure Rin and Evan didn’t meet, but they couldn’t even do the job.
.
Evan, on the other hand grinned as he tossed the book he was holding to Lioran.
"I can still perceive it, even if his scent is faint. But, he has that annoying stench over him," he frowned.
"By stench, do you mean, the young master’s Pheromones?" Lioran asked and the Duke didn’t answer him. It was obvious. Since Rin has been marked by Lucien, it was difficult for Rin’s Pheromones to flare as before.
"Should I kill him?" Evan mumbled and Lioran’s eyes widened when he heard that. By all means, he must make sure Lucien doesn’t die.
"My lord, he’s your only heir," Lioran reminded him and Evan tutted as his hand went from his jaw to his waist.
"I have another one. Though, he’s in the dungeon. If I also have none, Rin and I can always make another one. To get rid of that annoying stench, Lucien just has to go,"
"My lord..." Lioran tried to convince him but Evan placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled.
"Tell the chefs to prepare a feast and invite Rin and his people. Lucien can join if he wants. It’s just dinner,"
Lioran, who had lost his chances to convince Evan, lowered his head.
"I understand, My lord,"
.
Evan walked back to his room and saw Mirielle, getting dressed already. She saw Evan enter the room and she immediately rushed to him.
"Oh! My lord..."
"You’re awake, Mirielle? I thought you’d sleep more," he said, cupping her cheeks like he really cared. She moaned softly as she tilted her head.
"I wish I could stay, My lord. But I have a tea party to attend with the other ladies,"
"I’ll arrange a carriage for you," he said and she thanked him before heading back to the table to get dressed.
"You see, Lady Seraphina is the one hosting the tea party, and I must look good. After all, she would be my daughter-in-law,"
Evan tilted his head, trying to understand what she was saying.
"Daughter-in-law?" He asked and she stared at him.
"We’ll be getting married and I’ll be your duchess. Lady Seraphina is interested in your son, Lucien. It’s only right that those two end up together, so she’s my daughter-in-law, right?" She asked but Evan had no reaction. It was his first time hearing of this. He thought he knew about everything that happened in the kingdom, but he missed this.
He had no idea that Lady Seraphina, the only daughter of the Marquess, had an interest in his son.
"We’re going to get those two married, right?" She asked again but Evan rubbed his chin.
’Causing a bit of trouble for Rin isn’t that bad, right?’
"I agree with you, my love. But, what can we do?" He took a dramatic pause as a grin appeared on his lips. "My son has marked someone else,"
"... What? That’s unbelievable! Who is it?" She yelled.
