I Don't Want To Be An Omega In My Sister's Trashy Reverse Harem [BL]-Chapter 188: The Dinner!
Caspian stood from his seat and walked towards Lucien, who still had an angry look on his face. Everyone was getting worried and he wasn’t saying anything.
"Why isn’t he speaking?"
"Is it an attack? Should we deploy the soldiers already?"
They were murmuring among themselves but Lucien was already squeezing the letter in his hand just so the crown prince wouldn’t see it.
"Is there an issue?" He asked.
"It’s nothing serious." He spoke and they all heaved a breath of relief, except Caspian. "However, I must excuse myself,"
Caspian furrowed his brows. He knew something was up but he couldn’t figure it out.
’I’m sure it’s about Rin. If not, there’s no way he would make such a face,’
"I’ll be on my way. I’ll return tomorrow," he said and walked towards the door. Cassian’s gaze followed him as different thoughts rushed to his head. He wanted to stop Lucien from going, especially if he was leaving to see Rin.
He didn’t want to see those two together. He didn’t want to see Rin smiling because of Lucien. He stretched his hand, wanting to call Lucien back, but his lips couldn’t move. No matter how hard he’d hold Lucien back, Rin would always look at him. Only him.
’That’s why I must use this war to my advantage and get rid of him. Then, Rin’s smile will belong to only me,’
He clenched his fist and turned to the other nobles seated around the table.
"Let’s continue..."
.
.
Lucien, on the other hand, didn’t take a carriage home. He rode a horse just so he would get to the house as quickly as possible. When he saw that letter with no recipient, he wanted to ignore it but he remembered Lioran. He would be the number one person to send the letter, just so he wouldn’t get caught.
He smirked.
"I don’t know what that old fart is up to, but he’d better not lay his tainted finger on my Rin,"
He said and hit the horse again.
"Hiya!"
.
It was just ten minutes remaining before dinner. The maids came to inform them just a few seconds ago. She told them in the room to prepare.
’Prepare for what? We never wanted to have dinner with that fucking Duke,’
Rin thought to himself, as his face turned sour. He was annoyed. He didn’t want to spend a single minute with him, not even an entire hour of eating dinner.
Winter tugged his shirt and he suddenly changed his sour expression to something soft as he squatted in front of his brother.
"Huh? What is it my darling Winter?" He asked, with a charming smile, and Sasha, who saw the quick change in his face, went from sour to soft, furrowing his brows.
"Are we having dinner with the dook?"
"It’s Duke," Rin laughed and ruffled his brother’s hair. "Don’t worry. It’s just a meal. Nothing would happen,"
’I hope so. The Duke wouldn’t do anything crazy when there’s a little boy there, right?’ he wondered and then looked at the door. ’When is Lucien returning? Shouldn’t he be here by now? That insanely handsome dumb...’
He was already preparing to call Lucien more names when the door burst open and he entered the room panting.
"I’m here," he spoke as if he knew Rin was insulting him.
Rin’s lips curved into a smile. Winter is the only reason he’s not running towards Lucien, jumping on him and planting a hundred kisses on his face.
But, Lucien didn’t have any reason not to kiss his Rin after being apart from him for more or less than forty-eight hours. Without closing the door, he walked towards Rin and wrapped his hands around his waist, pulling him for a quick hug.
"Oh! I missed you, Rin," he said, sniffing his hair. "I came as soon as I got the message. Did my father speak to you? Did he touch you?"
He asked as his hand trailed every part of Rin’s body.
"Brother?" Winter called from behind.
Rin’s eyes shot wide open when he remembered his brother was right behind him. He shoved Lucien from his body and looked back at Winter.
"Oh, Winny darling, don’t tell Aunt or Mom what..." He spoke but Lucien interrupted him as he stared at Winter.
"Is he your brother? The one you spoke about?"
"Of course! Don’t we look alike? Isn’t he soft and squishy and cute and..."
"Yeah, yeah, I can see that," Lucien smiled at Rin, who was obsessed with how cute his brother was and then turned back to Winter. After all, Winter was going to be his little brother-in-law soon. "Hello, Winter. I’m Lucien,"
"You cannot...." He spoke in a soft voice that Lucien couldn’t hear him but Rin heard him, thanks to his demon abilities.
"Huh? Did you say something kiddo?" Lucien asked, tilting his head to the side slightly.
Winter immediately clenched his tiny fist as he screamed at the top of his voice.
"You cannot hug my BROTHER!!!"
Everyone in the room froze, including Sasha behind him. Lucien peeped at Rin who covered his mouth to hide the fact that he was laughing. Lucien cleared his throat and looked back at Winter.
"I see. Why can’t I hug your brother?"
"My brother belongs to me. He can only hug me! And... Mother and aunt," he said. Lucien thought he was done and was ready to speak until, winter added one final name. "And Sasha!"
Sasha felt his blood go cold when Lucien glared at him with his icy eyes. He shook his head repeatedly to show that he never thought it hugging Rin.
Rin just continued laughing behind his hand, and Winter kept mentioning a bunch of names like Kiro, Lia and the like.
Lucien tried his best not to get pissed off at a little kid. After all, he’s an adult.
"You should know that your brother will spend the rest of his life with me. I’m going to wed your brother,"
"Wed? What is that?" Winter asked as he lowered his small fists.
"That means, your brother would live with me forever in this house and only I would hug him every morning... Afternoon and night," Lucien spoke proudly and Winter remained silent.
He was expecting Winter to argue more but the little kid burst into tears.
"Puhahahaha!" Rin couldn’t hold it any longer. He leaned on a table to support his body so he wouldn’t fall. He held his stomach with the other hand and continued laughing.
"Oh-ho! Are you laughing?"
"I’m sorry... I just couldn’t help it. Aren’t you too old to bully a child?" Rin said, walking towards Winter who was crying down the estate. He hit Lucien’s back and cleared his throat. "The only person I would hug is my brother. Not you!"
He said and Winter stopped crying. He lifted his teary eyes to stare at Rin and Rin winked at him.
"Don’t worry. I won’t leave you,"
Winter nodded his head and stuck out his tongue to Lucien. Lucien just couldn’t say anything. The maid came again. Since the door was open, she just stepped in and bowed.
"Dinner is ready. Please, follow me," she said.
"Is my father there already?" Lucien asked. The maid lifted her head to see Lucien’s face. She flinched and threw her head back down.
"I apologise, young master. I didn’t see you,"
"Answer my question," he frowned and she nodded.
"He’s waiting in the dining area," she said and Lucien smirked.
"Sure. Lead us to him,"
"Pardon? Us?" She asked, confusion flooding her face. They only told her to invite Rin and the people with him. But, she didn’t expect Lucien to be there. She had no time to go back to report to the Duke, so she just bowed again.
"This way, Young Master,"
They walked out together and Rin swallowed hard. He just kept wondering what the Duke had prepared for an ordinary dinner.
"Sasha, whatever happens... Make sure to protect my brother," he whispered to Sasha and Sasha nodded his head.
Rin swallowed hard and tightened his grip around Winter’s hand.
"It’s just dinner. It shouldn’t be that... bad,"
.
.
Meanwhile, back at the palace, everyone had returned home after the short discussion after Lucien left. There wasn’t much to talk about since the one in charge of the war preparation had excused himself. Caspian called off the meeting and went to his office. He poured himself a glass of wine and sipped from it as he stared out the window. It was evening and the sun had almost vanished from the sky.
The door opened and the man in black greeted the prince.
"Greetings, your highness,"
Caspian didn’t even turn back to look at him. He just sipped from his cup.
"Tell me,"
"It’s as you suspected. Lord Lucien returned because of the white haired boy. I saw them through the window, hugging each other tight and I left before anyone would catch me,"
As he ended his report, he flinched as a crash echoed in the room. Caspian threw his glass at the wall and the red wine stained the curtain.
"He left the talk about war... Just for Rin. Their love is stronger than I thought but... Not strong enough for me to come between them. How is the preparation?"
"It’s coming up quickly, your highness. By tomorrow, it will be ready,"
"Good. That potion is the major thing needed for this war. It must end well... for me,"
An evil smile crept on his face as he grabbed the bottle of wine.
