I Don't Want To Be An Omega In My Sister's Trashy Reverse Harem [BL]-Chapter 195: Three Days!
Rin stepped out of the Vortellion estate after Lucien left for the palace. The morning air was cool as always, but the lane where the brothel was still carried the faint smell of wine from last night’s Golden Goose game. People were already sweeping the streets, and the nobles who lived nearby walked around with sleepy eyes, as if they regretted staying up too late but were already preparing to do it again tonight.
The brothel looked busy from afar. Men and women hurried around, cleaning up broken glass and sweeping confetti into piles. Some workers dragged bags of trash outside while others carried in new decorations. The whole place smelled of perfume, alcohol, and something sweet that Rin couldn’t name.
He didn’t waste time. He rushed straight inside, ignoring the guards who already knew him well enough to let him pass without a word.
As soon as he entered, he saw Lia coming out of a hallway with an empty tray. Her eyes lit up immediately.
"Rin! You came to see Lady Elyria?" she asked cheerfully.
Rin nodded. "Yes. Is Mother inside?"
"She is." Lia stepped closer and lowered her voice like she was sharing a secret. "She just woke up from a short nap. She needs more rest after... eating. So don’t take too long."
Rin raised an eyebrow at her expression. He lifted his hand and ruffled her hair. Lia froze, blushing and whispering something like, "Oh Rin..." under her breath.
"Thank you," Rin told her softly. "You’re taking good care of her."
Lia shook her head shyly. "It’s nothing. She’s your mother."
Rin smiled and went straight to the door at the end of the hallway. He knocked lightly and entered.
Inside, Elyria sat at a round table with a plate of food in front of her. Her hair was tied loosely behind her back, and she looked tired, though she forced a smile as she continued eating. When the door opened, she assumed it was Lia coming back.
"Did you bring more..."
"I didn’t expect to see this," Rin said dryly.
Elyria froze. Her fork slipped from her weak fingers and hit the table. She lifted her gaze and when she saw Rin, her eyes softened instantly.
"Rin..." she whispered.
She didn’t wait another second. She opened her arms.
Rin dropped the argument he had prepared and walked straight into her embrace. She pulled him down and made him sit right beside her, forcing his head to rest on her shoulder. She continued eating with her free hand and fed Rin with the other, placing a piece of fruit between his lips.
He chewed slowly.
"...Why are you doing this for seven days straight?"
Elyria sighed like he was asking a foolish question.
"Because I need to replenish my demonic energy. There’s no telling when they’ll attack. It could be tomorrow... It could be now." She popped another bite into Rin’s mouth. "Seven days is nothing."
Rin swallowed. Her calm voice didn’t match the seriousness of her words.
His mind went back to the crow and those glowing red eyes, especially its strange presence.
He was sure it wasn’t just a random demon spy.
Maybe it was Asmodeus or someone else who’s after him.
He touched the skull ring on his finger without meaning to. The cold metal made him shiver.
"You’re right," he said. "I’m just worried about you. You’re taking... more than two men."
Elyria blinked. Then she laughed.
"Only two? I normally take more than ten. It’s faster that way."
Rin choked. "Mother! Should I be hearing this?"
She only laughed harder and fed him again. "You’re old enough."
"No, I’m not," Rin muttered. "Please."
"You are," she insisted, patting his cheek. "And I only do it because I want to live long enough to protect myself and Winter. I know you’re strong... stronger than anyone. But I don’t want you to worry about me. Focus on yourself."
Rin lowered his eyes. She was right, and it annoyed him. He came here to make her stop this ridiculous seven-day ritual, but she made it sound normal. He has been fully convinced.
He stayed with her until she had eaten almost everything. When she yawned, he helped her lie down. She curled up on the bed, already looking sleepy.
"How’s Winter?" she asked quietly.
"He’s fine. Trust me when I say he’s having fun at the estate."
Elyria smiled a small, soft smile that Rin almost missed.
"You must take care of him there, even if he’s not a demon... he’s still weak. I wish I knew how powerful you are, Rin. We could have a duel. But I don’t want to push you. I’ve done enough wrong."
Rin adjusted her blanket. "Stop thinking about it Mother."
"I’m not..."
"You are," Rin said. "Close your eyes and rest."
She obeyed quietly, closing her eyes.
After making sure she was comfortable, he slipped out and closed the door gently.
But the moment he turned... he jumped slightly as he placed a hand on his chest.
"Aunt Lirien," Rin said. "Fuck! Why are you always just standing there? Are you trying to scare me into an early death?"
Lirien crossed her arms. "Is that how you speak to your aunt?"
Rin blinked innocently, ready to defend himself, but she looked like she was about to lecture him for real.
Before she could continue, Rin quickly said as he tried to change the topic, "I saw a crow today."
She paused. "...There are many crows in the capital. This isn’t news."
"This one had red eyes."
Lirien’s whole expression changed. She unfolded her arms.
"Red eyes? Are you sure?"
"Yes," Rin said. "It was outside Lucien’s window. It stared right at me."
Lirien didn’t speak not even a breath escaped her.
Rin frowned, seeing the seriousness on her face. "Aunt? Do you know something..."
"So," she cut in sharply, "you were in Lucien’s room? Doing what?"
Rin froze. He nearly slapped himself for revealing too much information. He suddenly found the tiles interesting as he stepped away from her.
’Why did I say Lucien’s window? Why did I even say anything?’
His aunt’s eyes narrowed.
"Didn’t I tell you not to get close to him? Didn’t I warn you I would cancel your wedding if you disobey..."
"Aunt!" Rin interrupted. "Why bring that up now? We’re talking about something more important."
"That is more important," she said boldly.
Rin took a deep, frustrated breath and bowed his head.
"Fine! I’m sorry. I didn’t do anything with him. I just went there to tell Viktor that I’d stay for a few more days after receiving Mother’s letter. I swear."
His calm expression worked like magic. His innocent eyes always did the trick. Lirien studied his face for a long time before clicking her tongue.
"...Fine. I believe you."
Rin exhaled quietly in relief.
’Oh! Thank goodness.’
She returned to the main topic.
"As for the red-eyed crow... I have intel. The demons are advancing already." She leaned closer. "They’ll reach the capital in approximately... three days."
Rin’s eyes widened.
"What? Three days? That’s too quick."
"Yes," Lirien replied grimly. "Three days. And when they arrive..."
She lowered her voice.
"...the capital will turn into a battlefield."
Rin swallowed hard, staring at her with rising dread. Everything suddenly felt too close. It was all real and... Fast.
