I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time!-Chapter 69: Past — 3
Chapter 69: Past — 3
"O? Look over there, something interesting is happening..." one of the spectators pointed toward the upcoming fight between Lin and Charles.
The other wealthy individuals followed his finger and looked in that direction, seeing a 14-15-year-old teenager staring with murderous intent at a ten-year-old boy.
"How interesting..."
"Just look at that boy... I can feel an unparalleled rage in him. This fight is going to be very entertaining."
"Seriously? That’s Charles — he’s an interesting boy who knows how to fight. You really think he’ll lose to some ten-year-old kid who’s just a bit angry at him? Ha-ha. Don’t make me laugh."
"Then let’s make a bet."
"A bet?"
"Yes. I’m putting a million credits on that boy..."
"O? Now it’s getting interesting... I’ll also bet a million on Charles."
"Ha-ha-ha! Excellent! I hope that boy doesn’t let me down!"
...
As Charles charged full speed at Lin, Lin didn’t run in panic. Instead, he raised his dagger and prepared to face Charles’ attack with full combat readiness!
"Even though I’ve only spent a month in this place, I’ve learned how to use a dagger at least somewhat!" he grinned brightly.
"Overconfident bastard!" Charles raised his sword high and brought it down on Lin with great speed!
Clang!
The sword hit the stone floor, forcing the confident Lin — who barely dodged to the side — to freeze in place!
"Damn!" Lin quickly recovered and pushed off the ground, thrusting his dagger at Charles’ stomach!
Charles scoffed coldly and swiftly raised his right leg, kicking Lin’s small body.
"Argh!" the ten-year-old boy fell to the stone floor. But instead of getting up, he crawled toward Charles’ legs!
"Filthy worm!" the teen raised his sword and was about to stab it into Lin’s back!
"Aaargh!" Lin saw the sword above and could think of nothing else but to attack Charles first!
Clang!
The sword missed Lin’s body by mere millimeters!
Lin opened his mouth and began biting Charles!
"Aaaah!"
With all the force his mouth could muster, Lin bit into Charles’ leg, not caring that he was biting a human!
"Bastard!!" Charles stumbled around and tried everything to shake Lin off, but the boy clung to him like a leech!
Just as Charles raised the sword again to strike Lin’s back, Lin gave one last vicious bite, tearing off a piece of flesh and rolling to the side!
Clang!
The sword once again missed Lin!
"Shit! Damn it! That hurts like hell!" Charles looked at his right leg and saw that a chunk of flesh was missing!
Lin, with a piece of human flesh in his mouth, smiled, then spat it out and prepared to attack again.
Charles looked at Lin with disgust and slowly centered himself, calming down.
"Now, it gets serious," he stared coldly at Lin, giving the boy goosebumps.
Lin scoffed and charged with his dagger!
Whoosh!
Charles slashed with his sword, but missed again!
Suddenly, he felt something strange in his stomach and looked down — seeing Lin had stabbed him in the gut with the dagger!
"What... How?" rage overtook his heart; he dropped his sword and grabbed Lin by the head!
But Lin didn’t back down. Using his small size and agility, he managed to stay unnoticed by Charles long enough to drive the dagger deep into his abdomen!
He kept pushing the dagger deeper into the teen’s body!
"Aaagh! Damn you... I’ll kill you!" Charles gripped Lin’s head with one hand and started punching it with the other!
Whoosh!
Bang!
Lin felt unimaginable pain in his skull and almost blacked out, but he held on and twisted the dagger side to side, worsening Charles’ condition to kill him faster!
"Aaaagh!!!" Charles kept hitting Lin’s head, causing blood to pour from every part of Lin’s face!
After several seconds, Charles’ body slowly collapsed, his gaze becoming lifeless like a corpse — indicating he was dead.
Charles had died.
By Lin’s hand.
Lin wasn’t in much better shape — he staggered two steps back before collapsing. The pain in his head was so intense it defied description.
"Charles!" Ari, from the other side of the arena, noticed him fall and felt that something terrible had happened!
She quickly ran to Charles’ corpse and saw his abdomen full of deep slashes — exposing his internal organs, especially his intestines.
"Oh God..." Ari couldn’t hold back and began vomiting at the horrific sight.
Minutes later, regaining her composure, she finally dared to look at what had happened.
Ari saw Lin’s body and felt overwhelming rage!
"You... This is all your fault and that bitch Zan’s! If it weren’t for you two, Charles would’ve survived!" she raised her sword and aimed it at Lin’s body!
"Die!" she brought the sword down!
...
Death...
I didn’t die.
I’m alive.
But why does it feel like I’m nothing?
Is it because of the intense pain in my head?
Why am I still here?
I need to get out. I feel unnatural. Danger — I feel it so close it’s starting to merge with me.
That’s bad!
I have to stand up!
...
Clang!
Ari watched in shock as Lin suddenly turned to her and, using his legs, knocked her sword away!
"No... Wait!" she tried to explain something to Lin, but he looked at her with a cold face, raised his dagger, and stabbed it into her stomach!
"Aaagh!!!"
Lin continued to deepen the wound, ignoring the girl’s agony!
"W-wait... I... Bastard..." Ari collapsed.
She was dead.
Lin quickly stood and looked around, trying to see if there were any more threats to his life.
Realizing the girl was the only danger, he slowly turned and looked at the two human corpses. freeweɓnøvel~com
His expression was blank, as if he were seeing them for the first time.
He realized what he had done.
With no strength left, he collapsed and stared emptily at the two corpses.
"I killed them... I killed two people who wanted to kill me..."
A tear fell.
Lin touched his face and realized tears were streaming from his eyes.
"But why am I crying again?.. I killed them... They wanted to kill me... But I’m still crying..."
Lin sat in silence, unresponsive.
He slowly looked up with a hollow gaze.
He felt pain and weight.
Intense.
He was exhausted.
Lin wanted to rest.
Like before — with his family and school friends.
He wanted to get his innocence back.
But he couldn’t.
Once you walk deep into the wilderness of your mind — you can never go back.
