I Got A Title: Lord Of The Time!-Chapter 75: Distorted creature level: Monster!
Chapter 75: Distorted creature level: Monster!
"We finally made it past those cliffs," Royal slowly sat down on the grass and leaned against a tree, breathing heavily, as if he had run a full marathon without any rest.
Aran laughed roughly and looked back at the massive cliffs, each hundreds of meters tall.
"I wouldn’t call those cliffs — more like small mountains... Either way, it took us three days to get through them."
Silia slowly sat down on the ground and began meditating, trying to calm her body and mind from the severe exhaustion she had felt while crossing the small mountain.
"Was it really that hard?" Yulan stood calmly next to Lin, observing everyone who had taken several days to overcome that "insurmountable" little cliff.
Lin simply snorted, feeling a bit proud that these "geniuses" of great families couldn’t handle a regular little mountain without getting worn out.
Except for Egro.
He had nearly passed out from exhaustion. Fortunately, Lin had quickly supported him and helped him in time so that he could make it through the small mountain.
Now, he was lying on the grass, just staring at the blue sky, thinking about nothing.
Lin shook his head and decided to rest a bit himself. After all, they still had several days of travel ahead before reaching that "castle" on the map.
Yulan sat down next to him and asked:
"Lin, how many Distorted creatures have you killed while spending time in the Magic World?"
"Hm?" he turned to Yulan and sighed. "Not many. On my own, about six. With a team, around forty."
Yulan’s eyes widened in surprise. She gave an awkward smile and said:
"That’s... a lot. Personally, I haven’t killed any. But with Silia and Egro, we’ve defeated around thirty Distorted creatures, less than you."
Lin nodded.
"With your abilities, it’s normal not to have killed any Distorted creatures alone. You need to find a proper weapon," he looked at Yulan’s wooden bow and its makeshift arrows. "And make Contact with it."
"U-uh..." Yulan sighed at Lin’s advice and nodded. "Of course, I’m doing my best to make Contact with a weapon, and it’s going fairly well..."
Lin patted her shoulder and said:
"That’s good. Just keep doing that, and you’ll succeed," he stood up and began training with his katana, performing a dance with it.
Yulan watched Lin’s graceful dance with the blade and then looked at her bow, thinking:
"It’s not over yet. I just have to persevere," she smiled and slowly closed her eyes to try once again to feel the bow.
...
Several hours later, the group of six had already entered the depths of the green forest and were moving forward steadily, trying to reach the castle depicted on the map.
"I didn’t think you were all so weak. Especially when crossing an ordinary little mountain," Lin said slowly, watching Silia, Aran, and Royal, who had been walking quietly the whole time.
Aran sighed lightly and replied:
"I, as your guardian angel, always protected you, and because of that my strength to climb the small mountain was minimal..." he looked at Lin and added, "If only my prince had helped me a little, my condition would be much better than it is now."
Silia smiled slightly and nodded, saying to Lin:
"Yes. If we had gotten some help, the mountain would’ve been crossed much faster."
Lin looked coldly at Silia, making her feel uncomfortable and turn away from him.
"Interesting..." Aran, of course, noticed and thought to himself:
"Their relationship might be more interesting than I expected."
Meanwhile, Royal walked calmly ahead of the group like a leader until he stopped and frowned.
"Something’s coming," he warned quickly.
Egro also stopped abruptly and looked down at the ground in shock!
"It’s..."
Lin and Aran dropped their previous expressions, and Silia and Yulan tensed up, ready to respond to any attack from the depths of the forest!
Boom!
A large brown worm burst from the ground and instantly attacked the group!
"Aaah!!" roaring, the massive creature sped toward the group almost instantly!
If they hadn’t dodged in time, the massive brown worm would have devoured them all!
"Lin!! Use your skill and transport us!" Royal shouted, looking up to see the worm just a meter from his head!
Lin reacted instantly and activated his skill: "Slow Motion Perception!"
Within five meters of him, time completely slowed down. Any movement within that zone happened at minimal speed — only Lin could move freely inside, as if the field didn’t affect him!
Without wasting a second, he ran first to Royal, whose head was already inside the giant worm’s mouth. If he didn’t save him in time, the great heir of the Arsafon family would end up in the stomach of a giant insect!
"It’s pretty fast, even in slowed time..." Lin glanced at the massive worm, the size of a bus.
He quickly pulled Royal’s entire body downward and launched him with great force out of the slow-time zone!
He repeated the same with everyone, throwing them far enough away, and when the duration of his skill was ending, he ran out of the zone himself to avoid becoming the worm’s next target!
He also glanced at its stats:
[Distorted Creature: Stone Worm.]
[Rank: Monster.]
[Abilities:
— "Crushing Teeth (Lv.3)"
— "Underground Tracking (Lv.2)".]
[Description: Stone Worms are capable of crushing entire cliffs to carve paths for themselves. Due to their abilities, these creatures are extremely arrogant and do not consider ancient beings their equals. They mostly live alone and rarely interact with the outside world.]
"It’s Monster rank!" Lin was shocked — it was his first time encountering a Distorted creature of Monster rank!
Completely surprised, Lin didn’t realize his skill had ended and that the slow-time zone had vanished.
Boom!
The Stone Worm slammed into the ground, but to everyone’s surprise, it began drilling into it with its powerful teeth like a drill, burrowing deep underground!
"Phew... That was dangerous," Royal breathed heavily and quickly regained his composure. He looked at Lin, who was still slightly dazed, and gave a small smile.
"Thanks."
He looked around at everyone and shouted:
"Stay alert! If you feel the worm approaching, shout immediately! And try to protect Lin until he regains his memory!"
Everyone nodded and got ready to defend themselves!
"Egro, with your skill, you should be able to sense it within ten meters," Silia turned to Egro and said.
Egro nodded.
"Yes. My skill is already level two, after all!"
