I Have a Dice Left by a God-Chapter 399 - 266: Ambush
As night fell, the manor appeared even more desolate, with occasional howling in the air, unclear if it was wailing or merely the sound of the wind.
The ground, which should have been clean and tidy, was densely covered with moss, and the walls all over the manor were climbed by some thorny vines, making it look like a place abandoned for years. Yet, just a few days ago, it was quite lively here.
The entire Ola Manor was shrouded in darkness, as if even the light of the red moon shunned it. At this moment, a dim light illuminated the castle at the center of the manor.
The black cat finally arrived at the manor, never having experienced such a terrifying experience in its battle-hardened fleeing career, feeling as if its nine lives were almost completely spent. Upon reaching the manor, that insistent feeling vanished, sourced from Oliver’s lack of interest in dirty and vile things. With a meow, Justin fled, rallying its last bit of strength to stay far from the dark world and cunning humans.
Oliver, with a cold demeanor, arrived before the castle he was most familiar with. Many a time when restless, he would come here to calm himself. He pushed open the vine-clad door and walked inside, caring little about who the intruders were, or even if Alain Ducasse indeed existed. He had a strong urge to unleash his emotions, inappropriate within the Royal City. His rationality remained intact, but the provocation from his enemies was indeed a welcome opportunity. He relished tasting his adversaries, especially when it came with an atmosphere of fear.
In the dim light, a girl sat elegantly, her gaze a mix of anticipation and anxiety, much like a daughter who had long awaited her father’s return. Oliver looked coldly at the enigmatic opponent, only to be hit like a lightning bolt the next second.
The familiar princess dress, the face that kept him sleepless at night, now vividly appeared before him.
"Amo...sa..." Oliver’s gaze focused intensely, unable to move an inch momentarily.
Upon seeing Oliver, the girl revealed a long-awaited radiant smile, "Father, you finally came back. Look, is this not the person you were looking for?"
Oliver paid no mind whatsoever to Alain Ducasse standing nearby with a food box, his eyes solely on Amosa. His usually sullen face instinctively relaxed, as if he momentarily returned to his days as the great wise king, "Amosa, my Amosa, you truly came back,..."
"Yes, Father, I have returned," Amosa said gently, "I died a miserable death, painfully, my heart cut piece by piece by the father I revered the most..."
Amosa spoke slowly, her expression pained, with each word like an awl driving into Oliver’s soul. His handsome, demonic face contorted in pain; meanwhile, "Alain Ducasse" quickly opened the food box, revealing a crossbow engraved with runes. With its shield removed, an awful power spread uncontrollably.
The God Slayer Crossbow 6-157, a sealed item from the Moon God’s Court, was not in Ma Zhe’s hand; instead, it was the determination of many sacrificed comrades who expended a lot of life force.
The God Slayer Crossbow shot out, Oliver hesitated for a moment, his expression slightly bewildered, yet his body remained motionless, his attention still fixated on "Amosa". The God Slayer Crossbow directly pierced his body. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
The next second, red light exploded from within Oliver, and a fierce hidden power surged out like a tide. The energy wave blew off the building, instantly collapsing the entire castle. Spiritual Ability continued to explode in all directions, as two figures darted out.
It was Dragon Mother and Ma Zhe. After gathering intelligence, Ma Zhe formulated this plan. Dragon Mother used Amosa’s disguise, and Ma Zhe used Ma Liu’s disguise. Although Ma Zhe’s strength wasn’t as great as Dragon Mother’s, he was a veteran Night Patrol who had unlocked four lives. Dozens of Night Patrol members took turns depleting many years of life to activate the God Slayer Crossbow, enough to kill or severely wound an Angel, even if not a god.
Dragon Mother admired the Night Patrols a bit; she had encountered many in the Secret Organization, and these people had a tenacious and mad nature while remaining very calm. No wonder the Moon God’s Court expanded so fiercely. Although she did not fear the newborn Greedy Angel, defeating one quickly without paying a price was unrealistic. This way was indeed the best punishment for Oliver.
Just when the two thought they had succeeded, the sky ignited with burning Spiritual Ability, a power covering the sun like an all-consuming force. Dragon Mother’s eyes turned skyward, under the red moon, a figure hovered—none other than Oliver. His clothes were tattered, holding a half-broken dark golden crossbow arrow. His chest was half obliterated by the God Slayer Crossbow, ribs exposed, organs spilling out, blood flowing profusely, yet Oliver’s eyes remained calm.
This arrow had completely awakened him; he needed such an arrow to erase the last guilt in his heart.
Oliver slowly descended from the sky, gazing peacefully at Dragon Mother and Ma Zhe, as if looking at old friends.
"I once abandoned my true love here," Oliver said faintly, "But the moment the arrow pierced my heart, I realized she always was in my heart, forever."
Oliver spoke slowly, dark clouds unknowingly cloaked the sky, obscuring the red moon, his expression gradually twisted, his handsome face contorting into a terrifying monster: "And you dare to defile it all, Holy Judgement~~~"
Suddenly, Oliver’s mouth split open like a basin, revealing shark-like cold dense teeth, roaring madly.
Boom...
Holy Light enveloped, and countless thorns burst out from the ground, covering the mountains and fields, transforming the surrounding kilometers into a thorn-filled Hell. Accompanying the roar of Holy Judgement, the Night Patrols ambushing around suddenly spat blood, while the sneaking vines had already pierced their bodies, gorging on life and flesh. Those who narrowly evaded were trapped by countless vines. These vines were as tough as steel, yet as agile as venomous snakes. Hex-Tech was useless; only Spiritual Ability blades could barely fend them off. Meanwhile, on the other side, through the vines, absorbing flesh, blood, and souls, Oliver’s wounds were visibly recovering rapidly.
The entire manor was like a thorny nest, with everyone already surrounded, leaving no way out.
Dragon Mother furrowed her brow—wasn’t this the Holy Word? How could a Greedy Angel wield such power?
Ma Zhe, hit head-on by the Holy Word, instantly bled profusely from his seven orifices. Dragon Mother threw Ma Zhe far away. When confronting an Angel’s power pedestal, a four-lived Night Patrol had no chance. Suddenly, a dragon’s roar emanated from her mouth, scattering the Holy Word.
Oliver rubbed his chest, only the shape of his mouth was slightly crooked. With a touch and rub, it restored his handsome appearance. He licked his lips, his long tongue curling up, "The Ancient Dragon clan, truly with a strong life force, not yet extinct in the Sixth Epoch. Very well, it seems you harbored Alain Ducasse; no wonder I couldn’t find him. The dragon blood must have let him escape death. Humph, Boka truly is foolish. But I really should thank you properly for helping me cultivate a better chef. I will let you personally experience his culinary skills."
