I Have a Dice Left by a God-Chapter 412 - 4: Farewell
Just as she was about to enter the Star Disc, Estella hurriedly got up, went to the dressing table, and tidied her appearance in the mirror. She had been too rushed earlier, and her hair was a bit messy. After fixing it, Estella finally entered the Twelve Zodiac Star Disc.
Sitting once again on the high-backed chair, Estella felt very fulfilled inside. She activated the Gemini constellation and then quietly waited. While waiting, she felt a little uneasy—what if her teacher’s information was inaccurate?
No, it won’t be. There’s also the scroll from Grandmaster Vladimir. It’s sure to be at the behest of Grandmaster Vladimir; a Demigod wouldn’t be wrong.
As the stars of the Gemini constellation lit up, Li Xin appeared on the high-backed chair of Gemini.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Gemini. How have you been?" Estella couldn’t suppress her joyful mood and said happily.
"Good afternoon, Miss Aries," Li Xin replied, "I’m doing well."
"It’s such a pleasure to see Mr. Gemini," Estella’s joy was apparent.
"Thank you, Miss Aries. Is everything alright in the Royal City?"
Estella nodded, "Thanks to Mr. Gemini, everything is fine."
"That’s good to hear. Originally, I was planning to say goodbye to Miss Gemini. I need to leave Hedan," Li Xin said.
Upon hearing this, Estella was taken aback but quickly understood. It was probably because of the Church Court. She sincerely wanted Mr. Gemini to stay, but she knew how dangerous it would be to remain in Hedan—the Church Court would certainly not spare Mr. Gemini.
Feeling Miss Aries’s slight sorrow, Li Xin forced a smile, "Miss Aries, though I am leaving Hedan, we can still keep in touch through the Star Disc, and there will surely be times when we meet again in the future."
"Yes, Mr. Gemini, I don’t know how to express it, but thank you for everything you have done for me." Estella stood up and curtsied.
Li Xin stood up as well, "Miss Aries, I am not worthy of such thanks. I merely couldn’t stand it. Demons like Oliver should be executed by everyone; those who sacrificed are the true heroes."
"Mr. Gemini, would it be convenient for me to visit you later tonight? Grandmaster Vladimir has given me a Holy Word Technique scroll for you, saying it contains a great Holy Word of the Pope, which might be useful in the future," Estella said, which indeed was a smart and reasonable excuse, very clever.
"Please thank the Demigod on my behalf. Such generosity, then I’ll accept it," Li Xin said, "I’m on a ship leaving early tomorrow morning."
"So soon? I know a cafe," Estella blurted out, feeling a sense of reluctance.
Two hours later, Li Xin appeared at a cafe in the Holy Grace District. In a corner, a woman in a gray and white long robe was drinking coffee. Li Xin glanced over; it wasn’t Estella, but the woman waved at him.
"Mr. Gemini."
"Miss Aries?"
Estella smiled slightly, "This is my disguise when going out. Mr. Gemini, what would you like to drink?"
"Just a cup of coffee will do," Li Xin replied.
They drank the steaming, fragrant coffee, reminiscent of an encounter between online friends in a previous life. Estella took out a sealed scroll and handed it to Li Xin, who received it carefully and curiously asked, "This thing won’t explode, will it?"
Estella couldn’t help but laugh, "It shouldn’t."
Li Xin put the scroll away, asked about the usage, and took a sip of coffee. Among the rich aroma, there was a hint of perfectly balanced acidity. Estella looked at Li Xin, "Mr. Gemini, Teacher Kundra asked me to consult you on a question."
"I dare not be called a consultant, but we can discuss it," Li Xin said.
Estella relayed Kundra’s question and also described her observations, "I feel that my big brother has been very excited recently, talking a lot about reform ideas during meals, but I don’t think it’s that easy."
Li Xin hadn’t interacted with Crown Prince Hokele, who’s now the King. His reputation among the people is still acceptable—a young king who has gone through tumultuous changes and regained power, making bold decisions wouldn’t be surprising. Compared to this, the Grand Scholars of the Celestial Principle School remained relatively calm, deeply apprehensive of the Church Court.
The Church Court is currently quiet, not due to conscience, but at the cost of many lives for temporary peace.
The advice of those who have experienced it often falls on deaf ears for those who haven’t faced it.
Persuasion doesn’t help, but since Kundra sent a gift, he still had to answer the question.
"Unite all those who can be united. The purpose of struggle is for unity." Li Xin stated.
Estella looked at Li Xin quietly, "Mr. Gemini, could you elaborate a bit more?"
"In unity, avoid two pitfalls: one is to unite by endless concessions, which leads to ruin. The other is focusing solely on extreme conflict. The purpose of struggle is unity; unity is for garnering support from those who disagree, forming broad alliances, and strengthening oneself."
Estella noted everything seriously as Li Xin took another sip of coffee, "I’m just speaking off the cuff, provide it just as a reference. I hope it helps the Celestial Principle School."
Estella was still lingering on his words; while she understood every sentence, she couldn’t fully grasp the meanings right away. These were issues that should trouble the Grand Scholars.
"Mr. Gemini, I also have a gift," she said, removing her mask and revealing her breathtaking beauty beneath the hat, handing the mask to Li Xin, "This is a Secret Item given to me by the Monastery, capable of changing appearance and form. I have no further use for it and hope Mr. Gemini can benefit from it, but it shouldn’t be used for too long, else it’ll lead to the loss of self."
Estella explained the rules of using the mask. Looking at the mask, Li Xin didn’t refuse; it was indeed something he needed, somewhat like a protective suit, but more durable, capable of resisting the unraveling of Hidden Power.
Although he intended to return to Dragon Capital, he first needed to ascertain the attitude of the Night Patrol. Given his actions, the possibility of being sacrificed for convenience couldn’t be dismissed, and he had to be cautious.
"Miss Aries, this gift solves my urgent needs. I am deeply sorry; I have nothing prepared," Li Xin said.
"Mr. Gemini, everything you have done is the best gift you could give me, and I will never forget it," Estella stated solemnly, looking at Li Xin. During her most desperate times, the companionship of Mr. Gemini had given her courage and strength. She couldn’t imagine what kind of agony she would endure if Oliver were still alive.
"Miss Aries, life is rarely as one desires; keep the best in mind," Li Xin said, as much to comfort Miss Aries as he did to remind himself.
Time was about up. Estella revealed her true face. Even with the cloak concealing her, some began to notice.
"Goodbye, Miss Aries, and thank you for the coffee," Li Xin stood and extended his hand.
Estella stood up as well, "Mr. Gemini, it’s our tradition in Hedan to embrace when bidding farewell to a dear friend on a journey."
"Bon voyage, Mr. Gemini," Estella said, gently embracing Li Xin.
"I’m glad to have you as a friend, Miss Aries."
Li Xin left, and Estella quietly watched as Li Xin disappeared from view outside the window, carrying with him the sorrow he couldn’t conceal...
The next morning, Hedan welcomed another bright and sunny day. On the distant sea, the silhouettes of ships were visible. Standing on the balcony, Estella played the flute given to her by Mr. Gemini, performing a piece she had practiced over and over again.
The wind carried the melody afar.
A merchant ship bound for the Dragon Capital of the Li Long United Kingdom gradually departed from the port.
On the merchant ship, Li Xin stood at the bow, silently gazing at the city receding into the distance.
He had once met a woman there and left her behind when he departed from Hedan.
