Fujiwara Reya was torn with indecision.
Just then, he heard the familiar roar of a motorcycle nearby and immediately turned to shout outside the door, "I like Fukaeri the most." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Kasahara Fumi took off her helmet and glared at him with cold, sharp eyes.
Without responding to him, the older sister held the younger sister’s hand and bypassed him directly to go inside the house.
As they passed by him, the younger sister pointed at him with her index finger, her expression one of disdain.
"Senpai, you’re so lame!"
After saying that, she didn’t even look back as she walked away.
All that was left for him was a whiff of their fragrant scent, their orange hair, the sway of their hips, and their graceful silhouettes.
Watching Fujiwara Reya’s awkward situation, the two mothers laughed brilliantly.
Mrs. Kasahara grabbed his arm and with great amusement, dragged him into the house: "Let’s go inside, I can’t wait to see Mr. Fujiwara get torn apart tonight."
"Where can Mr. Fujiwara hide tonight?" Mrs. Hoshimi said gleefully.
"In your rooms!" Fujiwara Reya grumbled.
"Make sure you mean it." Mrs. Kasahara teased, tapping his nose with her fingertip.
"Huh?"
Mrs. Hoshimi was momentarily stunned.
"Let’s go in." Mrs. Kasahara pulled her into the house.
After entering, the two ladies immediately noticed the piles of gifts in the hall.
"You’re quite popular now, aren’t you?" Mrs. Kasahara remarked, surveying the gifts.
"It’s all thanks to having such strong backing from the two of you." Fujiwara Reya laughed, "By the way, how’s the situation with the mythical creatures being handled?"
Mrs. Hoshimi glanced at him, "We’re planning to designate the entire Shikoku as a special administrative area to trial a system of coexistence between humans and mythical creatures, and then gradually implement it nationwide based on the experiences from the management area."
"Great idea!"
The three of them walked into the living room.
Both girls were in the rooms upstairs.
In the warm living room, only Tamamo Mae was lounging on the sofa, holding a bag of squid snacks while watching TV.
Though she was said to be a fox, she now appeared more like a cat.
Mrs. Hoshimi walked over and curiously glanced at her belly, her voice gentle, "Don’t eat too many snacks."
"Hmm?" Tamamo Mae looked at her.
"If you’re going to eat snacks, you should have more walnuts and peanuts." Mrs. Hoshimi sat down, looking like a typical mother, holding her hand and advising her on various dietary matters.
By the end of their conversation, she even outlined a daily meal plan, specifying how much meat, soy, and rice to eat, and how much oil to consume...
Tamamo Mae listened intently, becoming much more affectionate toward Mrs. Hoshimi.
As expected of Mommy Yako.
Truly gentle.
Fujiwara Reya gazed at her stunning face and joked, "A woman with children really is different."
"Nonsense."
Mrs. Kasahara tugged at his ear.
Fujiwara Reya dashed into the kitchen.
The three Mountain God’s Wives were busy.
Kawashima Miki had been busy for several days, bustling around doing shopping trips during the day. As night fell, she was in the kitchen slicing radishes, peeling shrimp, and boiling water... busy but organized, truly embodying the aura of a housewife.
Kasahara Fumi was chopping seaweed on the cutting board, and a pot on the stove was steaming.
A delicious aroma filled the air.
Fujiwara Reya couldn’t help but chuckle.
Kasahara Fumi glanced at him, "What are you laughing at?"
"It’s the first time I’ve seen Fumi wearing an apron while cooking." Fujiwara Reya hugged her waist from behind, picking up a piece of seaweed with his hand, "The cool policewoman turning into a gentle wife, it’s too blissful."
"Let go." Kasahara Fumi said coldly, "That’s for making seaweed rolls, don’t mess with it."
"Okay, you continue, I won’t disturb you." Fujiwara Reya buried his face in her back, feeling her warmth and the fragrance of maple leaves.
Kasahara Fumi elbowed him.
He didn’t move, and the policewoman sighed helplessly, letting him cling to her.
"Fumi, you should stab her with the knife!" Kawashima Miki said with a murderous aura.
"It’s New Year’s Eve, let’s not cause trouble." Yukino Ritsuko said with a smile, trying to mediate.
Despite all being wives, their contrasting personalities doomed the Fujiwara Family’s future to be colorful and eventful.
Once dinner was ready, Kawashima Miki busied herself with setting the table, her movements lively and her face joyous.
Yukino Ritsuko had never seen her so thrilled, perhaps because it was the first time everyone was celebrating the New Year together; her mood, as the head wife, was exceptionally joyful.
In the kitchen, only Kasahara Fumi was left carving cold dishes.
Fujiwara Reya grabbed her wrist and pressed her against the washstand, planting a kiss on her soft lips.
Kasahara Fumi frowned and glared at him, "It’s time to eat!"
"You kiss me, too." Fujiwara Reya requested, gazing at her lovely, fair face.
Kasahara Fumi struggled for a moment.
Unable to break free, her cheeks turned slightly pink, she surrendered and gently brushed Fujiwara Reya’s lips with hers, resigned.
"Miss Himeko just told me a secret." He murmured.
"What is it?"
"It’s a secret, how can I tell you?"
Footsteps could be heard from outside the kitchen.
Kasahara Fumi snapped back to reality.
Her arms, which were originally wrapped around Fujiwara Reya’s neck, now rested on his shoulders, trying to push him away.
Mrs. Kasahara soon peeked in at the doorway, watching her eldest daughter and son-in-law, "Why don’t you eat first and then continue?"
"Mother!"
Kasahara Fumi’s face was as red as the cooked prawns in the pot, blushing furiously.
"Hurry up!" Mrs. Hoshimi urged from outside.
In the living room, people were gathered around the heated kotatsu, with Kawashima Miki rolling up her sleeves, distributing bowls, chopsticks, and wine glasses with elegance and efficiency.
