Let’s Go!!

---------------------------

After returning from school, Raiden brought up the topic of living in the city hostel. But her response was stronger than he anticipated.

"No!! Absolutely not!! Nada!! I’m not leaving you and Ruby alone!! I want to live with you!!" Sylvia was absolutely livid and turned her head away, not listening to anything he said.

This left Raiden feeling that he had nothing left to do.

"Alright, listen to me, little Sylvi, be good. It’s not like I’m sending you to the Moon to live. We both will still be living in the same city. You can visit Aunt Ruby and me any day you like! And spend your weekends here any time you want. I just want you to spend more time with your friends, nothing else."

Raiden tried to explain once again, but his words fell on deaf ears, and she turned her face away from him again with a stubborn expression on her face, tears at the corner of her eyes.

Left with no choice, Raiden brought out his ultimate weapon.

"You must go to the hostel. I have already paid for it, you know. And it’s non-refundable. So if you don’t go, more than a million Credits will be wasted."

"You paid HOW MUCH?!! And it’s non-refundable?! Are you mad?!!" Sylvia turned around, with distress clearly written all over her face.

"That’s right. I paid for the most luxurious experience. You need to go and get the money’s worth; if you don’t, it’ll all go down the drain."

It was a blatant-faced lie. Raiden didn’t pay anything. He tried to offer money to Yuna, but she just brushed him off with disdain clear all over her face, saying pay with what money.

And when he heard the amount, he silently withdrew his offer. He didn’t have so much to pay anyway, and promised he would pay her back later. She just brushed him off, saying she didn’t care about this little amount of money, and she was doing all this for little Sylvi.

After a lot of convincing, his sister, who was really reluctant to go, finally agreed. Raiden dropped everything else for the day and just spent time with his sister and Aunt, talking about everything under the sky.

Just like that, the siblings spent their last day together with Woolie acting as their source of entertainment and happiness with his silly antics.

The next morning, the pickup trucks arrived at the farm as scheduled, taking Sylvia and her stuff with them.

Raiden stood there and watched them go until they disappeared on the horizon.

Taking one last look, Raiden took a deep breath and addressed Woolie, who was standing near his feet.

"Alright, buddy, she has already left. Now we need to start preparing for the competition. Let me show you how a real trainer trains his Terra Beasts."

"Woolie~!!" (ㆁωㆁ)

Woolie felt fired up. His human was a lazy piece of arse, who didn’t like to train him at all. The only time he ever taught him was once, back in the small backyard at the previous home, where he taught him how to do a quick attack effectively.

They were both training under Ruby, but it was more of a combat honing training than anything else.

But now, after hearing his own words about training him seriously, Woolie was fired up.

Together they made their way back to clear ground, as Ruby silently spectated them from a far distance, lying under a tree’s shade.

"Alright, buddy. Show me all the moves you know, and attack that boulder. Start from the Tackle." Raiden pointed to a 10-meter-tall rock in the distance.

Hearing his words, Woolie was fired up and rushed directly at it, hitting it face-first.

BANG!

The impact created a lot of noise, as a slightly dizzy Woolie took some wobbly steps, feeling a bit shaken after the hit. This left Raiden feeling speechless.

"Alright, next. Now use Quick Attack!" Ignoring his condition, Raiden issued his next order, as Woolie soon got back on his feet, hitting the boulder once again with much more force.

BANG!! 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Just like that, he spent half an hour with Woolie, reviewing everything he knew.

The results were kind of disastrous. Out of all the moves Woolie knew, he could only use fewer than 5 moves with decent proficiency.

If that was it, it would have been fine. That could be worked upon. But no. The biggest disaster Raiden found was something else.

His Woolie, it only knew how to attack in a straight line!!

He didn’t know how to take turns or be more nimble. Even when he tried to teach him, Woolie just came to a halt in mid-attack and turned his whole body around in the other direction before continuing the attack. He had no flexibility at all.

The sight was so comical and heartwrenching to watch that it made Raiden sit down on the spot, clutching his chest.

"You know what, it’s fine. It’s all completely fine. This is not his fault. It’s all on me. I didn’t pay attention to him at all. Or never did I teach him about it before. It all can be fixed. That’s right. We have plenty of time. I’m sure I can fix all his bad habits and clinch the championship, that’s right. I can do it!!"

After a convincing self-talk, Raiden dusted off his clothes and looked at Woolie, who was standing in front of him with starry eyes, as if asking,

’Did I do well?! I know I did well! Quick!! Praise me some more, human!!!"

( ╹▽╹ )

"You were extremely great! But we can definitely do better. Turn you from farm Woolie to a King Woolie!!"

Woolie felt happy upon hearing the first part, but shook his head at the second part. It felt like it needed to correct him.

"Woo Woolie Woo!!" Who are you calling King? This one is an Emperor. Call me Emperor Woolie. (ㆁωㆁ)

"Alright E... Emperor Woolie, do you want to continue training?" With a twitch of his lips, Raiden forced out his words. His Woolie was a newborn, and newborns must be praised a lot in the beginning to build up their confidence in the beginning.

Even if it seemed like his little one needed no boost of confidence.

A small smile appeared on Ruby’s face as she watched them interact with each other.

Just like that, the whole afternoon passed as a cool breeze kicked up, flipping the pages on a small calendar that was hanging outside the house, with a date marked with a giant red circle.

[Date: 16th October, 3327. Days until the Competition Began: 15 Days]
