I Just Want to Farm, But My Beasts Keep Evolving!!-Chapter 67: Traveling in Style
"Are you sure I can’t come with you to watch the match?" A girl with glittering silver hair whined as she clung to her brother’s hand.
She had only seen him after nine days, and now he was leaving her so soon.
"Haha, I am sorry about that, little Sylvi. But I will be back in 2-3 days. You can watch me win on TV. The whole tournament will be a live broadcast." Raiden patted her little silver head as she pouted.
"Fineeeee. I’ll see you soon. But you’d better win!! Also, Sarah actually sent something, wait." Sylvia started searching her bag for something before she pulled out a rectangular box. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"She created these for the finals herself, saying you are the face of the brand and how the clothes make the man, blah blah, etc."
Hearing this, Raiden accepted the box with a smile on his face.
"Raiden, you ready yet? We are about to leave now." A voice called from behind as Morgana entered the scene, wearing what seemed to be her casual clothes with a normal green-black top and beige pants.
"Hello, senior. It’s nice to see you again. Also, thank you for taking care of my brother." Sylvia bowed a little as she greeted her, making Raiden speechless.
"Haha, it’s been a while, Sylvia. Your brother sure is a handful, but don’t worry, I will take care of him." Morgana laughed as she greeted her back.
"Hey, hey, hey, I am older than both of you, okay? Also, she is not taking care of me; if anything, I was the one who was taking care of her. Let me tell you, during our training she—" Before Raiden could say anything else, he found his mouth getting blocked by a fair little hand as Morgana almost teleported in front of him and blocked him from saying anything.
"Shut up! Not a single word!! Or I’ll castrate you." Morgana threatened with a glare as she blushed furiously. Her time during training was one of the most shameful periods of her life, and the one she wished she could delete.
Her mother had been really brutal with her, not to mention she was training with this monster who didn’t know what tiredness or pain was. She had broken down during her time there multiple times.
And ironically, it was this goofy guy who had consoled her while panicking hard. It was a little cute to watch, and naturally, the duo has gotten a little closer.
Sylvia, who was watching their interaction from the side, felt a warning bell go off in her head as she watched these two interact with each other.
’Morgana and my loser big brother?! Is it possible? Surely not, right? I mean, she is a bona fide princess, while my brother is a lazy, egoistic, narcissistic, and oddball broke guy. Yes, they are just good friends. There is no way someone like her can fall for my big brother.’
Sylvia assured herself in her head as she watched them interact with each other.
"Alright, enough time has been wasted. My grandfather is waiting for us. Let us go, we need to be there by tonight. It’s already evening." Morgana said.
Hearing this, Sylvia forgot all her thoughts and started to feel reluctant once again, and she hugged her brother with little tears in her eyes.
"Hehe, there there, aren’t you getting too attached to your big brother? Don’t worry, I will be back before you know it. And then, we will all go out to celebrate my win as a family. You, me, Woolie, and Aunt Ruby, just wait!~"
"Who is getting attached?! I was just worried you would do something stupid and embarrass yourself on live TV. Just take care, okay?"
"I will. See you, little Sylvia." Raiden placed his hands on her head and rubbed them furiously, messing with her hair, letting it fly all over the place, ruining the emotional mood instantly.
"You—!" Before Sylvia could get angry, she saw her brother running away from her, earning a chuckle from her.
Morgana nodded at her before she also left after Raiden, walking gracefully.
Soon, Raiden followed the path to the elevator, as it hummed to life.
As soon as Morgana climbed aboard, it started moving upwards.
"Well, do you feel confident about the matches?" Morgana asked.
"What do you think?" Raiden smirked in confidence.
"I think both you and Woolie are monsters, freaks of nature. I am just afraid you will give trauma to all the contestants there, you beast."
Hearing her words, Raiden didn’t know how to feel angry or flattered. It was like she was complimenting him, but at the same time, it felt quite like an insult.
Thump.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when they finally reached the destination, and took in the view of the entire city, coloured red by the evening sun from the rooftop.
In the distance, he saw Isadora standing there with Old Man Sol and his secretary, he forgot her name, Gin something with Woolie and Cinder.
"Woolie~" Don’t worry, little sister. You helped me before, I will protect you during the competition.’
Woolie put on a serious expression on his little face, trying to appear grown-up.
"Chirrp!~" For the last time, I am the big sister! Humph!!’
Cinder turned her head to the side in irritation.
"Woolie!~" Hehe, you can’t beat me, so I am the big brother, just accept it. It’s not a shame, losing to an Emperor like myself.’
Hearing his words, Cinder got even more irritated the more she thought about it.
At first, she had been able to put up a fight against him. But the longer the time went on, the quicker she found herself losing against him. She was getting stronger at an extremely quick pace, but he grew at an even more absurd pace, surpassing her completely.
"Chirp!!" Take this, you blockhead.
She soared into the air and started pecking at Woolie’s head fiercely, causing him to round around, trying to dodge her attacks in a comical fashion.
Raiden ignored Woolie as he greeted everyone.
"So, how are we going to get there?" He asked.
"We are going to fly there, of course, how else?" Old Man Sol answered as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Fly there? But I don’t see any transport that will carry us." Raiden asked in confusion.
Hearing this, everyone burst into chuckles as they looked at him with a weird look.
"Who said anything about taking a vehicle?" The Old Man Sol replied as his body started shimmering like a diamond.
Before Raiden could register what happened, he found the sky disappear from his sight as a shadow fell over his head.
’No, that is not a shadow!!’ A frantic thought appeared in his head as the shadow started moving, almost creating a hurricane when it flapped in the air.
"Chirrp!!~"
The "Chirp" was a thunderclap that cracked the sky.
Raiden looked up and saw the sun vanish. Over a kilometre of obsidian wingspan unfurled above them, a Black Phoenix that draped the world in the shadow of an eclipse. He felt he wasn’t looking at a Terra Beast but a flying continent of dark, crystalline fire.
The pressure was suffocating. Every flap of its wings sent a hurricane of scorching air downward, the weight of its "Emperor" aura forcing the very earth to sink and crack. Its feathers shimmered like black diamonds, swallowing the light and replacing it with a terrifying, absolute authority.
Looking at the gigantic behemoth, Raiden only had one thought in his mind.
"Fuck."
