– Kwak!
The Silver Spear stabbed forth and came out drenched in blood.
The fight was over.
Eochaid Bres, Dumnorix, Dun Scaith, Fermack Daman.
Erin Danua, Hua Ran, Alicia Arden, Marie Dunareff.
The fight between the two groups ended as Erin Danua’s spear penetrated through Eochaid Bres’ heart.
“Fuu… Seriously. As sharp as always with the spear, youngest one.” 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
“…”
Erin looked at the former King of Gods who was smiling despite the trail of blood traveling down his face. Despite the spear going through his heart, he was looking at the sky instead of the one stabbing him.
“…The sky.”
Powers were colliding and the world was reacting to it.
Even from below, they could see the heavenly natural disaster.
“Do you see it? That is our next God King. The owner of a generation who would reopen the era of mythology.”
Feeling the power that even the gods would tremble before, Eochaid was smiling.
“We don’t know who won yet,” said Erin.
“I don’t care who won! The world has already seen it.”
Erin understood what he was saying.
This battlefield was full of Unique Grades battling for their lives. The ones at the pinnacle of all creation were colliding and yet the soldiers, northerners… and even the demonic beasts were looking up at the heaven.
They weren’t the only ones either. Across the continent, everyone could see amidst the confusion of the vanished light, the Sun appearing in space and rays of light dismantling the clouds.
“Worship begins from awe and fear.”
Lighting, storms and famine… Humans tended to shout when facing natural disasters that they were powerless against.
O god.
Please appease your anger.
“Cough…! It doesn’t matter who won anymore! Now… they shall see the true gods, fear and worship them! They will at last worship the ones that truly deserved their praise!”
Power always existed in society, and the history of humanity was a repetition of worshiping those in power.
Warriors, chiefs, landowners, feudal lords, kings, emperors and popes.
Now, everyone could see that there was the true sky above the skies.
That there was a god – one who could bring darkness to the world, and another that could shed the Sun to it.
****
Tates fell.
He wasn’t dead just yet. Although the light of his life was about to go off, he was still breathing.
“Fuu…”
Korin powerlessly fell on the ground. His entire body was shaking due to using up everything he could.
“Huh. You’re also out of energy. I would have won had I lasted 10 more seconds.”
“I still won though.”
“You’re right.”
Even though they had been pouncing at each other to end their lives, there was not a sliver of killing intent left in the two men. They were even similar in how they weren’t the types to linger on conclusions that had already been made.
“Congratulations. I am… being very much sincere.”
“I know. Why couldn’t you show that kind of easygoing attitude to the world?”
Tates grinned quietly in response, because that wouldn’t have been possible.
“My congratulations are for the ascension of the new King of Gods. Now that you have won, you will be the one leading the next generation.”
“You’re saying the same thing as Estelle-noonim. I have no plans of acting as the god, okay?”
“No. You will have to.”
Despite coughing out blood, Tates looked straight at Korin with his sharp gaze.
“Our fight was not just a normal event between people that were slightly strong. They have already witnessed that there are existences that could steal light from this world and bring the Sun back.”
Real gods unlike the fake god that they worship and praise to, he added, mocking the faith of the human society.
“‘Being the god of the new world’ is an old fad though,” Korin said, as he stood up from the branch.
His fight with Tates Valtazar was over, but that didn’t mean the war was over yet.
Valtazar’s subjects were still fighting Master and his peers from the Academy, and there were also Shadow Beasts endlessly creeping up from the darkness.
Most importantly, he had to put an end to this unending winter.
“Wait.”
After stopping Korin, Tates took something out from his chest and tossed it at him.
They were Rune Stones – ones that carried the Primal Runes.
Originally, the final arc was supposed to open with Tates collecting all the Primal Runes to open the path to Tir na Nog, but…
Perhaps it was because he was confident that he could find them after winning or something, but Tates didn’t seem that keen on looking for the Primal Runes. However, it seemed that he had been carrying the few Rune Stones that he did manage to collect.
“Rune Stones and… is this a key?”
There was a golden key giving off light by itself in the midst of the darkness. It looked like a key to the divine treasures of gods.
“A gift from me for the new generation. Resting there are the treasures of the previous Danann. They’re the treasures of Manannan Mac Lir and Lugh that even Master wouldn’t have been able to obtain.”
Because it would be useless in his hands now that he was dying, Tates gave it away with not a sliver of hesitation.
“My blessings to you, new generation. Let there be light in your path.”
With that, Tates eased his muscles. Korin turned his back to him as gems began to approach him by themselves.
[System Message]
– The four great treasures of Tuatha de Danann have gathered in one place.

[Tates Valtazar]

※ Reward:

– You have obtained the right to divinity.

Your rewards will be given after the Coronation.
You have completed the pre-requisites for the quest, <Coronation of Paradise>. Complete the Coronation and sit on the throne of Ard Ri, the King of Gods.
…………
[Hero Korin Lork. Congratulations.]
The Aura and Mana that had been depleted all returned as a strong sense of omnipotence filled his body.
“So… what was this all about?”
Did the System reflect the will of the world itself? Did that mean he had been receiving quests from the world until now?
Putting Lia Fail into his pocket, he carried Areadbhair and gazed down at the world from the branches of the World Tree.
The world was still filled with darkness and the cold wintery blizzard.
What they and the world needed was warmth, and… Korin had a feeling that he could do it.
“Do I really have to act like a god? Seriously, why can’t they be more creative? I have to do something like a god for my last reward.”
But if it had to be done regardless,
If he had to take the throne for even a moment…
Life was about style, so he wanted to be solemn and dignified like a god. No-one could see him anyway, so he decided to make it a blast.
“Let me do something similar.”
The Sun appeared to heed to his will. The Sun rose up, bringing unto the world warmth and light that could chase away the darkness.
“Let there be light.”
The Sun melted the winter, chased away the darkness and lit up the world.
…………
………
……
…
Left by himself, Tates gazed at the Sun in the sky with a smile on his lips.
“Aya~. How splendid.”
That was the next King of Gods – one who would write the stories of a new mythology. It was to be expected of his contender.
“What a shame. All that was left was just one single step.”
He still couldn’t help but feel slightly regretful that he couldn’t achieve his lifelong goal.
[It’s okay, Tates. You will live on in the next generation.]
Perhaps it was because this was his last moment, but forgotten memories were rising back to the surface.
There was a time when warm hands were putting the young Danann to sleep.
During the fall of the era of gods, among the Danann heading to ruin were parents who wished to leave their descendent alive in this world.
In the end, they couldn’t avoid their demise.
But the young Danann, Tates Valtazar, was picked up and raised by the Danann of Justice who was walking alone in the new era.
[Tates, let me teach you the ways of the spear. Help the people with your spear.]
There was a time when his Master meant everything to him. Even though he had killed her countless times himself…
“Well, thank goodness you are alive this time. Your unworthy disciple will be heading off first.”
His master, friend and mother. Although he killed her 99 times, he still wished for her happiness in this last iteration.
“I wonder when Josephine is finally going to get married…”
While also reminiscing about his old friend who was like a younger sister to him,
The Danann of Light closed his eyes.
The Demon King of the world;
The final boss met his end.
****
The war came to an end.
Snow melted all over the world, and the pitch black darkness crumbled before the appearance of the Sun.
Countless lives were lost and legends were made throughout the war, and everyone from soldiers to northerners… to the citizens of this world who had been quietly watching on from the darkness witnessed the Light and the Sun blooming like flowers in the night sky.
Unconsciously seeking for a god to protect them, some of them found new faith.
The world was not ready to accept new faith straight away. But eventually, they will come to acknowledge the new divinity.
The true god was among them, so how could they possibly ignore his existence?
In the end, it was just a matter of time.
****
“Fuu… Finally back.”
It wasn’t that long, but felt like a long time had gone by.
Putting an end to the war, we signed a peace treaty with the northerners and bid farewell to Brunhild and the valkyries.
We came back to the capital but the celebrations and awarding seemed like it would take too long so I returned straight to the Academy.
It was May, and it was still Spring.
“Korin! Korin! Let’s quickly go back home! I’ll boil some potatoes for you!”
Marie’s refreshing voice tickled my ears. She wasn’t the only one here with me.
“Korin-ssi~ I heard there’s a new theatrical play in the city. It’s called ‘Love cannot be a sin,’ and the name really touches my heart for some reason. Let’s go watch it after our meal!”
“…I want fish.”
Alicia and Hua Ran were together. The three of them and I were on our way back to the dormitory.
Special Dormitory.
Originally, it was to quarantine Hua Ran, but after we started living together… it became a place that we could call home.
“We’re back.”
“Yeah. We are back.”
The place brought back memories and reminded me how we were still just students. We might have saved the world and whatnot, but we were still of an age where we should be enjoying our youth!
“Semester 1 of Year 3 has just vanished but… Well, there’s still some time left.”
“T, this is my last year but I still have a lot of time too!”
“But you know. Don’t you have to like, quit academies before graduation? I thought that was a rule.”
“Is there a rule like that?!”
“…I don’t think so.”
I thought the go-to was to quit the Academy, join a strange organization that moves behind the curtains and so on. Wasn’t that how every story went?
But wait, I already saved the world though!
“I guess campus life is all we have left to do~”
I hadn’t really thought about what to do after saving the world. Maybe I should graduate like a normal student and travel the world.
Back in the game, the western continent was as far as you could go, so crossing the ocean and visiting the eastern continent to sightsee seemed like an interesting idea.
– Creak!
The door creaked open.
“Hmm? Welcome back, boss.”
“Korin-hyung!”
Ren and Ron welcomed us at the entrance.
“Hmm…”
“What’s wrong?”
“No. I was just thinking how you guys can take your time growing.”
“Eeek…!” Ren grumbled. “I’ve been worrying about that too! I did grow a little though, you know?”
Perhaps because of the war, Ren had also grown to the level of a middle school student. However, the Ren and Ron siblings I remembered from the game were the voluptuous lady and the muscular macho.
“You’re cuter the way you are right now so don’t worry.”
“Mhmm… Anyway, there is a guest so please go greet them, oraboni.”
“Guest?”
Why would there be a guest in the Academy dormitory? Curious, I opened the door to the guest room and found someone familiar.
“You have arrived, my fiance.”
“Oh… Lunia-ssi.”
Waiting in the waiting room of the dormitory was Lunia, elegantly drinking tea from her cup.
“Was everything dealt with in the east?”
“Indeed, thanks to fighting along with the old man.”
Lunia and Old Man Garrand had to deal with the Shadow Beasts invading from the east.
We prevented problems from happening in the south and the west, but on the east were nomad tribes and Shadow Beasts under Tates’ command, so we needed a strong army to stay on the eastern front.
Thanks to that old man Garrand and Lunia, it seemed that everything was fine.
“What brings you here though? I was planning to go visit you soon anyway, and didn’t think you would come all the way here.”
“Well, we can discuss that when everyone is here.”
Everyone? Were there more people coming?
“KO~RIN~DONNGSAENGGGGGG…!”
There was only one person who called me that way. Before I could even turn my head around, the pink-haired saintess wrapped her arms around my neck.
It was obviously Estelle.
“…Why are you here?”
Didn’t she have tons of things to take care of? She had to deal with the ones still faithful to the Old Faith, and take care of the integration of the religions back into one, so why was she here?
“I have to graduate this year, right~? I didn’t want to take a break again~”
“…So you’re telling me you left it all to your subordinates and ran away.”
“This noona is going to become a su~uuperrr important person, so don’t worry!”
It seemed that she had yet to let go of her ambitions. Perhaps she really could become a god. In fact, if I actually went through the coronation… then I could give her a position too.
‘Well, that’s a story for later though.’
I had used too much power of the Sun to chase away the darkness and melt the winter. For now, I had to recover my divine energy and leave the coronation and other things till later.
Plus, now that I was also acknowledged by Areadbhair, I had to get used to the Divinity of Light as well.
“Oh~. My dear disciple. You are here.”
More and more people arrived at the waiting room. They included Master Erin and—
“Your Highness Miru?”
“Don’t be so formal.”
Why was Miru here too? What about the political stability of our kingdom?
The sisters were both running away from their duties!
“Fuu~. I guess we do need to hold a celebration party now that the big war is over.”
“Hnn?”
I could guess why they were all here. You all wanted to hold a party, huh!
“Korin? There is a reason… why all of us are here.”
“Master?”
With a stern look on her face, Master gulped and started off.
“Isn’t it about… time for you to make a decision?”
“Ah…”
Only then did I realize their intention.
Right, everyone here…
“You’re right.”
Marie Dunareff.
Alicia Arden.
Lunia Arden.
Hua and Ran.
Estelle Hadassa El Rath.
Miruam Elizabeth El Rath.
Erin Danua.
They were people who loved me despite my shortcomings.
The war was over. My duty to save the world was complete, and the time had come for me to make the choice that I had been putting off until now.
“U, uahh… I, I’m becoming nervous. K, Korin…”
Marie was someone special who was always there to support me. Ever since I saved her, she showered me with uncompensated love and support, and without her assistance, it would have been impossible to win the war.
“Hmm~. It doesn’t really matter to me though.”
Alicia.
Even though she was slightly weird at times, she overcame her own limits and grew. She still lacked confidence, but still whispered me words of love and tried to do whatever she could.
“…”
Hua Ran.
The two of them met a happy ending that was unobtainable in the original game. Hua was quiet but would blush at times, while Ran would proactively express her affection.
They weren’t the only ones.
Estelle, Miruam, Lunia and Master Erin…
All of them were too much for someone like me. They were adorable and beautiful people.
Some had strange perceptions of marriage but I still had to make a decision.
I had to choose one out of these eight ladies.
“I…”
My mouth refused to say the following words. Who was I supposed to pick? It would inevitably bring ‘misfortune’ to the remaining seven so… I couldn’t make up my mind.
It was then—

“Korin? What’s wrong?”
“Korin-ssi? Your face is pale.”
“Are you okay, Korin? Are you not feeling well? Would you like some blood jelly soup?”
The girls approached me with worries on their faces, but each of their steps felt like that of the Grim Reaper to me.
“He…”
““He??””
“Help.”
