Chapter 169: Chapter 169: Thunder Wrath

As the pyro doll started to charge up its final attack, Blaze raised the Blue Bolt up high.

Pure blue electricity poured out from his body and fused into the wand. The blue jewel brightened up intensely, all the light surrounding Blaze evaporated, leaving only the blue blazing light of the jewel.

It looks like a star illuminating in deep black space.

<Thunder Wrath>. The third level of lightning power of the Blue Bolt.

So far, the Blue Bolt has shown five different levels of lightning bolt.

Yellow lightning bolt, its original <Lightning Strike> Hidden Power. Its electricity was better than the Force Shocker (B-Rank) at the time.

The blue lightning bolt, which was created by the <Thunderbolt> Hidden Power by fusing the Force Shocker (B-rank) for a brief moment. This was the second level of the lightning bolt.

The white lightning bolt, by charging the power of Force Shocker (B-rank) for at least thirty seconds. This was the third level of the lightning bolt.

After Blaze’s Force Shocker (B-rank) had advanced to Thunder Force (A-rank), the new modified <Thunderbolt> became red and purple respectively for level two and three. However, their destructive power and strength were several times higher than the original level two and three <Thunderbolt>.

Then, Destruction Wand (Rare) had advanced to Necrosis Destruction Wand (Ultra Rare) and from then on, the first level of the Thunderbolt completely disappeared. Only the red and purple lightning bolt was left behind.

Now, if Blaze charged the wand for too long, instead of a stronger lightning bolt, he could activate a new power.

<Thunder Wrath>: You can summon a thunderstorm to strike at your enemy.

Blaze had never used it in its entire strength since its creation. Now, it was even more powerful since the Necrosis Destruction Wand had transformed itself into the Blue Bolt and bound itself to him.

This <Thunder Wrath>, for what it was, would be something that Blaze expected to be out of his imagination. He had long been curious about the extent of his power.

As electricity fused inside the jewel, the dark clouds surrounding Blaze became more and more agitated. They grew more restless and screamed ancient thunderous noise that could cause any mortal to be shaken.

Behind Blaze, a tornado of thunderstorm was manifested. Inside it was endless purple electricity dancing and screaming.

Something called out to him. Something primordial and powerful. A sound, a noise, a word.

<Divine Conversion>. One of the powers of the Blue Bolt, which would convert all of its current attack to have Divine Energy.

Blaze did not know the true meaning behind those words. But he was able to grasp what its mean by this moment.

Blaze spoke out the spell.

The blue dragon from before appeared again. It materialized out of thin air and fused with the clouds layer.

The thunderstorm extended and became a long elongated snake of clouds and lightning. It took shape into a gray eastern dragon with purple stretch marks running along its body.

The cloud dragon put its head under Blaze’s feet, treating him as its master.

Then the dragon opened its mouth. A magic circle formed around its mouth, purple lightning danced around the runes and lines, producing an ancient feel of power.

And then, the elongated body of the dragon lit up in purple. The purple lightning focused in its mouth and turned into a beam. That beam shot through the magic circle, being fused with the divine energy of Blaze and his wizardry.

The beam did not grow larger but its speed became unmeasurable. Its light was blinding and under a fraction of a second, it came into collision with the beam of the pyro doll.

The flame ball stood no chance in front of <Thunder Wrath>. It completely got pushed back and then got swallowed by the power of the thunderstorm.

Then the gray dragon flew over, its mouth opened wide to take in the phoenix in its mouth. It charged further, crushing the pyro doll into pieces.

[YOU HAVE GAINED 5000 EXPERIENCE POINTS]

[CONTINUE TO LEVEL 6?]

<YES> <NO>

Five thousand points. That was probably the equivalent amount of an S-rank Awakened in real life as well.

This fight was challenging but in no way, threatening to Blaze. The pyro doll was a formidable S-rank and it had lots of tricks in its sleeves. But it was no match for his powers and items.

Blaze had no intention to continue further. He had time. He only wanted to check what the Everstair was.

Blaze chose <No>. His body slowly faded away from the stone disc, leaving this pocket dimension.

Outside the Everstair, the group of men from before had approached further and stood in front of the entrance.

They had seen the stair lit up progressively from one to five. Level one to five were deemed to be the least challenging in all thirty levels. The most important thing in these levels was to reserve your energy for later stages of the level. Afterall, no one was able to use their power in the Everstair and not everyone was a master of martial arts.

They didn’t know that Blaze was treated completely different from everyone else thanks to the interference of the system.

The first five levels were considered the least challenging but not easy. It took a man proper techniques and strategy in order to take out all five dolls consecutively.

It was a tradition in the Undercity that anyone that could get through level five was considered powerful and respectable. Almost all the major players in the city had made through level five.

But then, after the stair lit up five times, the entire structure glowed in a bright red color. The sign for the sudden death.

"Damn! Unlucky bastard!" A man said.

"He encountered a hidden sudden death level. Is he going to survive?"

"A strong Awakened now has to bite the dust. Pity."

And then the stair went silent. The group of man waited for a while but no response.

"Well, that’s it, boys! The kid is probably dead!"

"Pay up, loser! Who bet for the kid to survive?"

"What is that?!"

A man pointed at the Everstair. The crystal glowed up with number five again, this time it was blood red instead of purple.

This could only mean one thing. It was that Blaze had overcome the sudden death level.

"Holy mother..."

"No way!"

And then, Blaze appeared outside the entrance. He was just teleported out of the pocket dimension and returned to another parallel dimension, the Undercity.

He looked around and was rather surprised to see so many men gathered around.

"And you are?" Blaze said.

"You encountered sudden death level? How many did you face? How did you survive all of them?"

"Which style did you use? Is it Metal First? Is it Wind Grappling?"

Blaze frowned. These people seemed to be misunderstanding something. Once again his experience was not the same as other people.

To hide this secret, Blaze thought it was better to lie.

"I was just lucky." Blaze said and quickly went away.

The men moved away to give Blaze a clear path to leave. Whatever he did, he had earned their respect. And soon, the entire Undercity would know about his achievement.

The next day, when Blaze went down to the bar, this place was even more crowded before. All types of people showed up. But the new people were mostly strong, intimidated Awakened. It seemed that Blaze’s reputation had gone far and they seemed to come to meet him.

Blaze ignored everything and sat down at the bar counter.

"Business seems great." Blaze said.

"Thanks to you. Everyone wants to come here to meet the only S-Rank in town. Some wants to challenge you. Some want to make friend with you." Sam said.

"Can you get rid of them?" Blaze said.

"Hey! That’s your job! You are my bouncer."

"Oh, right. Let me handle it then."

"Yeah. Yeah. But if you’re going to fight, make sure to drag them outside. Don’t let them ruin my bar."

"Understood, boss." Blaze joking said.

It was at that moment that a young girl approached his position. The girl had a ponytail and wore sport fitting clothing that was perfect for training and fighting.

Blaze glanced at her, his hand still holding the glass of water. "What do you need?"

"I heard that you beat the five level of the Everstair on your first day. Is it true?" The girl said.

"It’s true." Blaze nodded.

"Woah!" Along with the girl admiration sound, the crowded bar began to whisper and murmur. It was unavoidable that people talked about you when you became the most famous person in town.

Blaze sighed. This newfound attention wasn’t something he wanted. He only wanted peace for the three years he would be waiting for Lucia.

"And what do you need, girl?" Blaze said.

"Well. You know... My father opens a dojo in this town. He is the same at you and was able to overcome the first five level of the Everstair. Since you are able to beat the Everstair with your bare hands alone, you must be a really good fighter. My father would just like to have a conversation with you.

Master to master."

"Bare hands?"
