I Reawakened as an Inferno Hero-Chapter 39: Revelation
Chapter 39: Revelation
The words sunk deep into his mind, his expression almost pale. He looked at Royal Cloak and, with a pale voice, he asked, "How? Why? When?"
Royal Cloak took a deep breath, his eyes dark with something unpredictable —anger, fear, or maybe both. He leaned forward, placing both hands on the steel table, his fingers pressing into the surface as if grounding himself before speaking.
"Monseryan," he started, his voice low but edged with precision. "A name that should've been erased from history, but here we are."
He let out a slow exhale, tilting his head slightly as if considering where to begin. Then, finally, he continued.
"Monseryan is not just a place. It's a wound. A festering scar in the heart of the Khaos Realm. A sub-realm created from war, betrayal, and madness—where the worst of the worst were cast away. Long ago, before even the first great war of Khaos Realm, the realm was still young, the superheroes in it, shaping themselves, planning on how to make Khaos Realm great. But power, real power, attracts monsters. Not just creatures, but men, beings who crave destruction, who want nothing but chaos, who see war as sport and peace as weakness.
"These monsters and creatures had a backstory. They were actually once superheroes, but in a bid to get stronger and driven by a crazy desire to rule over Khaos Realm, they decided to use spells to make themselves stronger. They almost did, though, but then a mistake. Just a simple mistake they made while casting a spell backfired on them and turned them into monsters, foul creatures, ugly beasts."
Royal Cloak's fingers tapped against the table, a rhythmic sound, slow and measured.
"The great superheroes of Khaos didn't know what to do with them at first. Execution? Too merciful. Banishment? Useless. No, they needed something worse, something permanent. So they did what no one thought possible—they ripped a piece of Khaos itself, tore it apart, reshaped it, and locked every monster, every war criminal, every abomination into it. A prison-realm. A place where time barely moves, where agony and hunger never fade, where only the strongest can survive. They named it Monseryan. And they thought that was the end of it."
His gaze darkened.
"They were wrong."
He straightened now, his jaw tightening.
"Because Monseryan wasn't just a prison—it was a crucible. A place that didn't break monsters. It hardened them. Shaped them. Forced them to evolve, to get smarter, stronger. For many decades, they slaughtered each other, fought, adapted. The weak died. The strong grew into something else. And those that survived? They weren't just monsters anymore."
Royal Cloak gestured to the frozen screen behind him, the image of the grotesque, armored creature staring back at them.
"This?" He pointed. "This is just one of them. One of thousands. And now, they've stopped fighting each other. Now, they've found a leader."
Axel tensed.
"A leader?"
Royal Cloak nodded.
"The one they call The Monseryan King. No one knows what he is, no one knows where he came from, but they follow him. They worship him. And under him, they've done the impossible. They've built a portal. A gateway big enough to tear Monseryan open, to unleash every nightmare onto the Khaos Realm. And guess where they're coming first?"
Royal Cloak's fist slammed onto the table.
"Here, to Superpolis, to come make us slaves, servants! To work for them."
Axel exhaled sharply, his mind racing.
"So how do we stop them?"
Royal Cloak's lips pressed into a grim line.
"There's only one way. Destroy the portal before it fully opens. Because if even half of them get through, we're done. Khaos Realm will fall, and everything after it—every realm, every city, every life, even Earth—will be nothing but ruins beneath their feet."
Silence hung between them, heavy, suffocating.
Then, Royal Cloak looked Axel in the eyes, his voice dropping to something colder.
"That's why I called you here. We've known about this for a month now, and so, we decided to recruit many superheroes and choose just the best to go on the mission. You're going to be part of the team, the team of superheroes we've created, that stops them!"
Axel cogitated deeply; this was risky, alright. He was going to be putting his life on the line here.

He turned to look at Royal Cloak, exchanging a quick glance with Space Knight, who he had totally forgotten was still here.
"So how do we go about it?" Axel asked. "How do we get into the sub-realm and stop them from completing the portal and entering it?"
Royal Cloak stroked his beardless chin now.
"That's where we come with a tactical approach," he said.
Axel was listening.
"We try to sneak into the sub-realm. Don't worry, we've got you covered. We'll provide you with any high-tech equipment you want, and with your powers, well, you'll do well. We assure you."
Axel stared at him with an unsatisfied look.
"It's not safe. I don't know if I can do it. The purpose I got my powers is to save Earth and Khaos Realm, so—"
Royal Cloak cut him off, hitting his hand hard on the table.
BAM!
"C'mon!" He shouted. "Are you this dumb, this daft!" He sighed and tilted his head towards Chrysa, who could only shrug and stare downwards, not once uttering a single word.
Royal Cloak's voice was soft and calm now.
"I'm sorry if I sounded harsh or like a dictator. I can assure you I'm not, but the thing here is that, being the head of the Superpolis superheroes, the pressure is on me, and I don't want to fail. I don't want the world to crumble and watch it do so when I knew I could have done better."
Axel said nothing and showed not a single emotion, at least not now; he was deep in thought.
"I'm not forcing you to help me, but I'm certain with you on the team, even though the mission seems impossible, it will be possible," Royal Cloak said in a low and calm tone. "I see potential in you, power, and greatness. And I just wish you would help me, as I seem to have no other choice."
Axel furrowed his eyebrows as he thought. Should he help?
