I Reawakened as an Inferno Hero-Chapter 57: Monseryan Monster: Embercollosus [1]
Thinking about it, Axel’s dad thought that that was a great idea.
Without hesitating, because the monster was now almost at him, he clenched his fists very firmly, so tight Axel felt shocked.
His father’s veins seemed to rip out; it tore and then a gust of wind swirled around him, lifting him up and then hitting him hard onto the ground again.
THOOOSH!
The force that that act carried pushed the monster backward and made it hit its back on one of the walls.
The wall instantly plunged backward and the monster went with it.
Axel’s dad was on his knees, now an abyssalyt.
His form was menacing to the eyes.
Axel could only whistle as he stared at him.
He was now a towering, gargantuan beast with rocky, armor-like skin that seemed fused with the earth itself. His massive frame seemed to be containing raw power, with muscular limbs capable of crushing anything in its path. His glowing, molten eyes burned with a fierce surge for destruction, and as he leaped and went after the monster, the crowd trembled after him.
He smashed a rock with just a flick of his fists as he dashed after the monster.
Axel, now tilting his neck to the right and bracing himself for a challenge, snapped his fingers and...
A large amount of heat descended upon him.
It felt like fire had struck him. He felt nothing, actually, not a single pain even though the transformation looked like something that would hurt anyone.
With just a leap and the wind licking the flames on his body, he dashed forward. Flickers of flames that looked like something mushed up with plastic drifted off his body.
Axel, now nearing where the monster and his dad were, saw his dad diving his fists into the monster’s face. Before he knew what was happening, the monster kicked his dad and the latter flew into a rock, splitting it into halves like a loaf of bread.
The monster seemed to be shocked, and for some moments there, he stepped backward a bit, silent for some seconds.
Axel’s dad was struggling to get up. He placed his hands on the ground and supported himself to his feet.
Axel kept staring at the monster, not blinking the whole time. It fascinated him, the behavior of the monster, actually.
It was afraid, and at that moment, Axel sort of pitied it.
Squinting his eyes to scan the monster, he got:
[Opponent 44 percent scared]
Axel was yet again fascinated. Although the monster was a freak of nature and egregious in appearance, he felt pity for it.
Axel’s dad hit his fists together and muttered under his breath:
"Time to finish this goddamn creature!"
Placing his right leg back a bit and steadying the other forward, he inhaled and exhaled, thrusting himself forward. Just a punch sent the monster backward, and it landed hard on the ground, a grunt escaping from its mouth.
His dad was about to finish the monster off when Axel said to him:
"It looks afraid."
His father was bemused, and so he looked at him intently and shrugged.
"How’s that my business?" he said. "C’mon, kid. We were sent here to kill a monster and quickly bring it to the realm plunger of whatever you guys call it, for examination."
Axel sighed.
"Quit all this soft stuff. You aren’t meant to feel, son. This is only but a monster. Killing one won’t make a difference, and not doing so won’t either."
Axel sighed again and looked downwards. His father was still looking at him.
And then...
BAM!
Axel’s dad had hit a wall. Something had driven him to do so by the way, and that thing was the abyssborn fists driving into his face.
It went in like a chainsaw. Sharp, edgy, and pointy.
Axel gaped and seemed rooted to the spot. Looking at the monster, he saw that its gaze was deleterious. Not only its gaze but its overall appearance. It now looked lethal, and Axel couldn’t help but open his fiery eyes wide.
The monster faced Axel and said:
"You are weak. You are so weak you made your follower weak. In Monseryan, dread weakness or you will not last a day or two here."
Axel wasn’t just surprised that the monster could talk. He was also embarrassed. It felt awkward, standing there, staring at the monster who stared at him with jeering eyes.
His father was still on the floor, head down, face bloody, stamina no longer available. Eyes swollen and teeth almost out.
Without Axel knowing, he didn’t even expect it, the monster had thrust his fists into the face of Axel’s dad. It did so twice. And by twice, they were very fast.
Axel’s father slumped from his sitting position onto the ground. His face bloody.
The abyssborn smiled jeeringly and said to Axel:
"I mean, the abyssalyts are strong and can easily defeat us. I admit, we admit. That’s the reason anytime we see one, we are normally scared, but not too scared. It’ll seem like we’re faking it, which we are, but not so much or a stretch."
Axel was listening, but he wasn’t doing only just that. He squinted his eyes, with so much effort, silently scanning his opponent without it knowing.
He did so slowly and precisely. Trying as much as possible not to let the monster know that it was doing so.
[Opponent almost succeeding. Cannot face with combat. Need a more tactical approach]
Axel noted that and continued staring at the monster. Not for once taking his eyes off it.
It was towering, and for a second there, when he squinted his eyes to the limit, he found it humongous.
Axel decided he may have made a mistake being nice and acting like a dumb-brained nitwit. He admitted to that, and now, he would like to turn this around.
He had four words that described him according to what he had just done:
Nitwit
Dumb-brained daft being
Stupid idiot
And -
Softy
He took it and agreed that he was those. He was surprised the monster was talking, and his genuine thought was how?
He then remembered that they had once been humans and he had underestimated them. Like, what was he thinking? Pitying them would be stupidity because they were, according to Royal cloak, the most dangerous villains alive.
Beings alive!
He inhaled and exhaled, doing so very softly and without even showing signs that he did so. He looked at his father. Well, he glanced at him and felt kind of bad. He was the cause.
The monster was still talking and boasting of its achievements and all. To Axel, it was all:
BLAH... BLAH... BLAH!
That wasn’t what he was listening to. He had a plan to KILL the monster, and now he had to be ruthless in order to do it.
It wasn’t a very epic plan, but it was, well, unique, tactical, and full of action.
He decided to give it a shot.
