I Reawakened as an Inferno Hero-Chapter 60: Third Mystery?
The run felt like a stone throw.
Axel’s father was extremely fast but Axel proved to be faster because in no time, he was ahead of his father and now facing the realm plunger.
Their lithe motions were mesmerizing to behold.
But well, there wasn’t really anyone there to applaud them or tell them that they did something epic.
THUD!
Axel’s father hit the monster’s heavy corpse on the ground.
It landed heavily on the ground and Axel, looking at it, felt disgusted. The wind was careless to blow towards their faces and it hit them like biffs.
They shook their faces and exchanged glances. The glances didn’t actually convey any meaning and when they looked at each other for long, they burst into laughter.
And then Axel’s dad extended a hand for his son. Axel, looking at it, took it and then his father said to him:
"You are a good fighter only that-" he hesitated, looking intently into Axel’s face.
"Say it," Axel said.
His father scratched his head.
"You’re dumb, at times." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Axel smiled.
"I know, and I, I acknowledge it."
His father patted him on his shoulder and said.
"Good you do, now learn from it. I mean, damn!, I was almost killed back there."
---
They entered the realm plunger, doing so with Axel just guessing where it would be and knocking on the surface.
A door opened and they hopped into it.
Axel’s dad lay the dead monster on the floor in the center of the place and Mirrormeld, feeling that she couldn’t hold in a great amount of puke decided to raise her hands up, signalling to the artificial intelligence of the realm plunger that she wanted to do the act.
A tube stuff came out of nowhere and faced her and she, feeling like her mouth would explode any second now, vomited into it.
Chrysa was so disgusted by her act, she had to chip in:
"I’m surprised you’re on the mission, you behave too fearful and easily irritated."
Voidbreaker added with a mocking grin:
"Well, she does come in handy though. It’s not everyday you see someone who can duplicate."
With a nod of their heads (Spinal edge and Chrysa), they agreed.
Chrysa pressed a very tiny (seemingly invincible) button by the side of her neck and walked towards the dead body, crouching beside it.
The button she clicked on activated a mask which covered her nose and mouth. It had silk lines designed on it, Axel found it very cool.
She looked up at them and said:
"For a father and son pair, you guys are really good. That was pretty fast."
They could only smile and exchange proud looks.
A son looking at his father and proud and a father looking at his son and proud.
Chrysa looked at the dead monster and felt almost irritated. She wasn’t that moved, considering the fact that she had seen things more worse and more graphic looking scenes than this.
She studied the monster, clenching her fists which activated a glove change. The glove that encased her hands now were metallic looking ones, hard and strong yet soft and leather feeling.
It was lined with the usual lining that was on her suit, the lines entering inside a bit and glowing silver. The surface was smooth and was ’unfeeling’.
’Unfeeling’ in the sense that with the glove on her hands, she couldn’t feel anything and so when she went over the dead monster’s body, touching the swollen eye (the eye that killed it), she couldn’t feel how groggy and disgusting it was.
They watched, the other superheroes, as Chrysa went over the body, checking if there was any symbol on it.
They all stood afar off, except Axel’s dad, who stood beside the monster, looking at how Chrysa went over it.
Mirrormeld was nowhere to be found and when Axel, who was standing a bit closer to his father, looked around, in search of her, he saw her by a chair, sleeping.
He shrugged and directed his gaze to Chrysa. She was wearing goggles now and he was a bit surprised with it because well, he didn’t know what she was using it for.
He had to ask:
"What are the goggles for?"
Chrysa looked at him only for a split second and looking back at the monster, she replied:
"Well, the monster looks gross so I couldn’t look at its bizarre blood and its gross looking eye and so I equipped on my cartoon goggles and now I see him as a cartoon monster."
Axel was impressed and so were others.
"Ok, so it’s now a cartoon to you?"
She shrugged.
"Not really. I mean, it looks like a cartoon but its skin looks very well real, giving me an HD kinda look when I look at it."
"Amazing stuff," Axel said. "Your suit must have many other sorts of gadgets."
Chrysa laughed softly. Axel couldn’t see the laugh but he was sure it would be cute.
"You bet," she blurted.
That made Axel smile, he suddenly loved her sense of humour.
Chrysa going through the monster’s body more thoroughly, now found something. She paused and touched the place more, Spinal edge and Voidbreaker feeling it to be gross.
Axel noted the expressions on their faces and the first thing that came to his mind was:
’You can both go to hell for all I care!’
Chrysa stood up now. It seemed that she was now certain with her discovery.
Walking to the center of the room, where all eyes could be on her, she raised her hands up.
They all looked at it and saw:
In the middle of the glove, a sign. Squinting their eyes, they saw:
Quite delicately done, with the edges and the poses screaming perfection:
A drawing, in bold black, of three monsters standing erectly. A king stood on top of their heads, its hands up in the sky, a staff in it and a crown on its head.
Voidbreaker stroked his beardless chin and said:
"Looks just like the one on Dan’s glove."
They all nodded in agreement and Chrysa added:
"But this is well drawn and done so delicately."
Axel agreed.
"Yes." He paused and as if catching his breath said:
"What do we make of this."
Chrysa opened her mouth to speak but was stopped by the realm plunger’s artificial intelligence:
"Sorry for interrupting but the camera is now working again so we are now capable of seeing any incoming danger."
Axel, his voice sharp, blurted:
"I want the dead abyss born monster out of here and flung far away. About five miles away from here and then set ablaze."
Chrysa didn’t object to it, she thought of it as a great idea considering that it was now reeking out a foul disgusting stench and that it was well, useless.
And so, a hole opened underneath it and they all heard:
Feeewwwww!
And then..., well, nothing.
The hole closed and the realm plunger artificial intelligence sprayed the place (silently), with a nice smelling perfume.
Axel, sniffing the air, felt it smelled like a mixture of butter, those cream stuff that used to be on biscuits he bought back on earth and peanut butter.
It smelled truly good and others showed that they were feeling the same because they were nodding their heads.
Axel, looking at Chrysa, thought of this as the third mystery, but well, it wasn’t though, it was still part of the second one.
Well, that was not until Chrysa walked over to him and handed him Dan’s glove.
He collected it but was confused.
"What for," he asked.
"Look at this," Chrysa said, pointing to a place on the glove. "It seems Dan didn’t leave the glove by mistake, he actually left it intentionally."
Axel suddenly felt a rise in his heartbeat and looking at the glove, he saw the ’sombre’ words:
{Humans don’t live in this realm for long kid, unless they stop being human}
