I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 25:Impulsive
The sun peaked from behind the rising mountains as it started to rise casting its light on the mist-filled forest. Dew hung on the trees and the ground still carried the wetness from the night before. The smell of different flowers merged into the air welcoming the oncoming dawn.
Rapid footsteps rang on the quiet forest floor as they crushed fallen branches and wet leaves. Atheline had his concentration fully on getting to the camp before she left.
He’d wanted to take a carriage but he didn’t want his mother to notice and the shortcut to the dark elf camp was through the forest.
In front of him through the covers of the leaves, he could see the multitude of tents and a few dark elves patrolling the site.
The dark elf campsite looked organised from his perspective. Black and white tents rose from the ground like houses distributed equally in the clearing and he could see that the camp was already active with the shouts reaching his ear from inside.
’Why in the world are you doing this?’
The thought passed through his mind but he suppressed it and marched onwards. He walked out of the trees and was spotted immediately.
"Stop, right there!"
Atheline stopped as two male guards came to him and stopped a few steps from him. Atheline observed them, the first one had brown hair while the second had dark blue hair, and both of them had bulkier features while carrying long spears.
"Who are you?"
"Atheline Sunblade, I’ve come to visit your commander. "
He took out his family crest. Their eyes widened as they recognised it. The two glanced at each other before turning to Atheline and taking the crest.
"Please wait here for a moment young lord," the brown-haired guard said, bowed, and walked towards the camp.
Atheline’s gaze was on the camp following the guard as he disappeared between the many tents. He knew there were about a hundred warriors stationed there.
A minute hadn’t gone by before Atheline started to pace.
"If you don’t mind can I follow behind him," he started his impatience getting the better of him.
The guard looked conflicted. His gaze went to the camp then back to Atheline.
"Of course, you can young lord we wanted to give you the utmost comfort and not trouble you with walking back and forth while searching for the commander."
Atheline smiled and shook his head.
"It’s nothing, you don’t have to do that. Can you point me in the direction of the office, i would appreciate that."
The guard nodded.
"If you cannot wait, I can guide you inside.." Atheline shook his head,"...Alright, just follow this path, at the end you can’t miss it since it’s unique. I must warn you, they’re probably in training and you might not be able to easily find her."
Atheline nodded.
"Thank you."
The clearing where they were located wasn’t big and Atheline was sure he wouldn’t get lost.
Inside the camp was as imagined. Clean and organised but there weren’t any elves walking around. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
The sounds of weapons clashing and shouting were carried to him through the wind from the east side of the camp.
He was walking north in the direction he had been pointed. Atheline felt as though he was walking through a dead city with how weirdly empty it was and the clothes that were hung outside each tent to dry.
He arrived in front of the biggest and most unique tent and called out.
"Anyone there?"
As expected he got no response. The soldier who had taken his crest was nowhere to be found.
Atheline waited for a few minutes before he set his sights on the training ground.
"I just hope she hasn’t left yet."
His steps carried him to the east as he blindly followed the sound and navigated through the camp until he got to the edge of the camp.
The training ground in his opinion looked butchered. From his memories the place had vibrant grass and if he remembered correctly a few new tree saplings had started to sprout.
Right now, the ground had been stepped on until there was only solid ground.
The dark elves were fighting each other while others trained by themselves.
His eyes scanned the crowd until they found their targets. In the middle of the training ground stood Lily.
She was dressed in black combat trousers and a shirt he was used to seeing her in and was holding two daggers at hand. Her eyes were serious as she held her combat position while she glanced around.
Five soldiers surrounded her each wielding a weapon more dramatic than the other.
She looked like a Raksasha at the moment.
Without warning the first warrior attacked, she twisted sideways and swung her blade, parrying again the huge hammer that was swung down by a much taller and bigger elf.
Sparks of fire flew from the meeting point of the two.
She kicked him in the stomach sending him tumbling across the field.
Another tried to go for her back the sword slicing through the air aiming for her next. She leaned backwards the blade cutting above her where she was supposed to be.
She swung her blade upward cutting her opponent’s face.
Atheline flinched. He had thought it was a normal training but she seemed to be injuring her own soldiers.
A dagger was thrown at her. She kicked it while turning mid air and threw hers back to the attackers skewing him in his arm. She kicked her second opponent, sending him flying across the field.
He didn’t wake up after.
The remaining two flunked her on both sides. She side-stepped the kick from her attacker to the right and punched one of the left.
Atheline was sure the man’s jaws were broken from the crunch and the blood he sprayed.
Just before she could go for her last attack her eyes met his across the field.
She stumbled.
Her last attacker’s punch landed on her shoulder forcing her to stumble. She held the woman’s hand and flipped her over, she landed on her back behind Lily, and Atheline could have sworn he heard a crack.
She left the training ground under everyone’s gaze a small smile on her face that clearly shocked everyone around her.
She came to a stop a few steps from him.
"What are you doing here?" she asked him confusion visible in her tone.
