"The research allocation for Zunda," he said coldly, placing the book down with a quiet thump as it didn't match what was recorded on the system. "Where is the rest of it?"

The officials exchanged nervous glances. No one responded.

Jake's gaze darkened. "Thirty percent. Gone. Unaccounted for."

Still no reply. Until one of the younger clerks stammered, "T-there must be an error—"

Jake moved before the boy finished. With a single punch, he sent him flying across the room. The others shouted in panic, but Jake was on them in an instant. A swift kick to the older accountant's chest made the man crumple. Another was slammed against the wall. The bookkeeper raised his hands in surrender, but Jake grabbed him by the collar and slammed him into the nearby table, shattering the wood into shards.

"You bastards thought I wouldn't notice?" Jake growled. "That money was meant for technological research—our future. And you thought you'd stuff your own pockets with it?"

Blood trickled from the corner of the bookkeeper's mouth. "Please… we'll return it."

"You will," Jake said. He stood, brushing his knuckles clean. "But that's not all."

His voice dropped to a deadly whisper.

"If I find out any of you try this again, I'll make every male here a eunuch… and shave the women bald for a hundred years."

A horrified gasp escaped one of the female clerks.

"For vampires," Jake continued, his tone mocking, "losing your hair… or your manhood… That's worse than death, isn't it?"

They dropped to their knees, shaking, pleading.

Jake turned toward the door. "Redirect the funds. Every single bit of it. By tonight."

With that, he left.

---

By the time Jake returned to his residence, it was already total night. The atmosphere inside his home was warm and quiet. As he stepped inside, the scent of grilled meat and spices filled his nostrils.

He paused by the kitchen door and peeked in.

There, standing over a steaming pot, was Zamira. Her long red hair was tied in a loose ponytail, and she wore a black apron over a casual satin robe. She hadn't noticed him yet—until she did.

She glanced over her shoulder, smirking. "Back already? I thought you'd be out longer."

Jake stepped into the kitchen, exhaling a tired sigh. "So did I. But things got... interesting."

"Oh?" she said, still stirring the pot.

Jake leaned against the counter. " I went to the Central Finance Hall to look into the research allocations. Turns out those leeches were siphoning thirty percent of the funds."

Zamira stopped stirring. Her expression hardened.

"They embezzled from the research sector you newly added to this year's budget?" she asked, coldly.

Jake nodded. "I didn't fire them though. I Just beat the shit out of them. Told them to return every single bit of it."

Zamira blinked, then broke into a grin. "That's what I like to hear."

Jake chuckled. "Didn't want the news going public. We're trying to build a reputable financial sector, not an embezzlement firm. So I handled it quietly."

Zamira walked over and wrapped her arms around him from the side, her head resting on his shoulder. "I'm proud of you. You're becoming the kind of man our people need—a ruler with strength, but not reckless cruelty."

She paused for a moment, then muttered softly, "Guess I didn't make a bad choice after all…"

Jake turned to her, raising a brow. "What was that?"

"Nothing," she replied quickly, her cheeks flushed pink as she returned to the stove. "Food is almost ready. Are you ready to eat?"

Jake smirked. "Sure."

As she plated the food onto polished black dishes, Jake pulled a chair out and sat down.

"I forgot to mention," he said. "Amber's around. She's been with me since we warped in."

Zamira, surprisingly, didn't flinch or frown. Instead, she calmly reached for a third plate. "I figured. I've seen that second personality of Misty's in action before. She is cool and funny."

Jake blinked. "You're not jealous?"

Zamira raised an eyebrow as she spooned rice onto the plate. "Why would I be? She's not a competitor, that's one thing I know for sure. And if she is one, I wouldn't take her seriously because she is a worse muscle-head than I. Either way, she's family now, whether she likes it or not. I made enough for three."

Jake laughed softly and leaned back in his chair. "You never stop surprising me. To think you knew a fellow muscle-head like her."

"Amber and I are different. I was forced to become a muscle-head because that was the only language vampires understood

and feared. But that woman? She is a pure muscle-head just from the few words she spoke whenever she took over Misty's body when she was young."

Moments later, the plates were set, the food steaming. Jake stood and helped bring the rest of the dishes to the table as the scent of roasted garlic and spices filled the dining room.

The scent of grilled meat lingered in the air as Jake and Zamira sat across from each other at the long oak dining table. Plates of vegetables, seasoned ribs, and tender steak lay between them, half-eaten and still steaming. They shared quiet conversation, the occasional clink of cutlery the only interruption.

Just then, footsteps echoed down the corridor. Amber strode into the dining room, her usual confidence radiating in the way she moved. She caught sight of Jake and Zamira and offered a curt nod.

"Evening," she said with a slight bow, before turning to Zamira. "Mind if I serve myself?"

Zamira gestured toward the dishes with a polite smile. "Of course. Help yourself."

Amber didn't hesitate. She moved straight for the meat platters, selecting the largest cuts of steak and ribs with single-minded focus. Ignoring the vegetables and lighter fare entirely, she returned to her seat and began tearing into her food with surprising enthusiasm.

Jake chuckled under his breath, elbowing Zamira gently. "Looks like she likes your food."

Zamira laughed softly, watching Amber devour her meal like she hadn't eaten in days.

A playful grin tugged at Jake's lips as a mischievous thought crossed his mind. "Alright, let's play a game," he said aloud, setting his fork down. "Whoever finishes their food last gets to give me a fellatio."

Both women paused mid-bite, glancing at him in surprise. Zamira raised an eyebrow. Amber blinked twice in disgust, as if confirming what she'd just heard.

Then, in perfect sync, they picked up their pace, eating like hungry beasts.

Jake leaned back, amused as the clinking of silverware intensified. "Well, that escalated fast."
