I, The Villainess, Will Seduce All The Heroines Instead-Chapter 37: Cleaning Duty (2)
Chapter 37 - Cleaning Duty (2)
"Oh, so you do feel bad, huh?!" Sera huffed. "Well, thanks! But I don't need your pity!"
Sehe spun around—only to miscalculate her footing. The heel of her shoe caught on the edge of the bucket she had so carelessly placed behind her.
Clatter—splash!
A tidal wave of soapy water erupted from the bucket, arcing through the air in slow, inevitable motion before crashing down.
Right onto Verena.
The shock stole her breath.
The icy water soaked through her thin sleepwear instantly, the once-flowing fabric now clinging traitorously to every curve of her body.
Droplets traced shivery paths down her skin, her damp hair sticking to her neck and shoulders.
Sera froze, eyes flicking downward before snapping back up, her lips parting slightly, then curling into the smuggest smirk Verena had ever seen.
"Oh. Oh. This is fantastic."
Verena closed her eyes for a brief moment, inhaling deeply through her nose. Her patience dangled by a thread.

"Not. A. Word," she said, voice dangerously level.
"I'm just saying... if I had known justice looked like this, I wouldn't have complained so much."
Oh, you want to have a teasing competition, huh? Fine.
Instead of scowling or snapping back, Verena did something unexpected.
She straightened, running a hand through her damp hair with slow, deliberate movements. The wet strands clung to her fingers before cascading over her shoulder.
Tiling her chin up, her eyes regarded Sera with an unreadable expression, one that sent a prickle of awareness down the other girl's spine.
"You know," Verena mused, shifting her weight just enough to make her drenched sleepwear slip ever so slightly off one shoulder, exposing the smooth curve beneath. "If you're going to stare, you could at least offer me a towel."
"Who's staring?" the girl scoffed, folding her arms in what was definitely not a defensive stance.
However, the woman took a slow step forward, her bare feet soundless against the wet floor. "Oh? Then why do you look like you've forgotten how to breathe?"
Sera's lips parted, but no words came out. Her gaze flickered, just briefly, downward before she caught herself and immediately turned her head away.
"Tch," she clicked her tongue, but her voice lacked its usual bite. "You're obnoxious when you're like this."
"And yet," the woman's hand reached out to pluck a stray bit of dust from Sera's uniform, letting her fingers ghost over the fabric, "you're still standing here."
Sera immediately took a full step back, nearly tripping over the bucket again.
"Okay! That's it! Go dry off before I dump another bucket on you!"
"Aww, so eager to see me change?"
Sera grabbed the mop and pointed it directly at her. "OUT. Now."
With a satisfied smirk, Verena finally relented, sauntering away with a playful sway in her step. But she stopped.
"You know, Sera," she drawled, tapping a finger thoughtfully against her lips, "for someone who claims they're not staring, you sure do get flustered easily."
"I'm not flustered."
"So if I walked over there, lifted your chin, and checked up close..." She took a single step forward. "...you wouldn't react at all?"
Sera took an even bigger step back. "Stay where you are."
"Hmm. Tempting offer, but I think I like seeing you squirm."
"FUCK YOU!"
