Chapter 97: Chapter 97: The Trap Set for Durrell Landon

Quiana Sutton wanted to ask more, but Julian Haworth hung up directly.

She couldn’t hold back a low curse: "Damn it!"

Such an inexplicable remark had left her heart in turmoil, unable to calm down.

She immediately called Charles Foote and got straight to the point: "Did something happen to Durrell Landon?"

Charles Foote was silent for a moment. "You already know?"

Quiana Sutton nearly roared: "What the hell is going on?"

Charles furrowed his brow, his voice hoarse: "Zeke Landon disappeared abroad. Durrell took a private jet overnight, but the plane broke apart mid-air. Now, he’s missing."

Quiana refused to believe Durrell Landon could just die like that: "Impossible! He won’t die."

"We’re still investigating. Before the plane broke apart, Durrell sent me some coordinates."

After hearing Charles Foote out, Quiana Sutton went silent as death. For a long time, she couldn’t speak, finally squeezing out the words:

"Even if he’s dead, I need to see his body."

After hanging up, Charles Foote kicked Julian Haworth, who was standing beside him, right onto the couch, his face dark and clouded.

"Who told you to tell her?"

This was the first time Charles had ever lost his temper with him. Julian Haworth coughed hard, as if he might cough out his lungs, and choked out: "Durrell is missing now. I can’t stand Quiana just peacefully acting on set."

Charles Foote didn’t have time to argue about Quiana with Julian Haworth any further. Right now, Durrell Landon was the most important matter—alive or dead, Charles had to find him.

Joseph Grant and Miranda White saw Quiana after her call behaving like the world had ended, her expression frighteningly intense. The two of them backed away a few steps, carefully asking, "Are you...okay?"

Quiana shook herself out of her numb shock. "Help me ask the director for a leave."

She walked out of the room as soon as she finished speaking.

Leaving the two of them staring at each other, baffled.

They had no idea what major event had happened to make the usually calm-faced Quiana react so strongly.

After leaving the crew, Quiana immediately called Clara Hale.

This time, instead of a cocky voice, she heard a sleepy one.

"Hello—"

"Clara Hale—"

Quiana had never spoken his name in such a heavy tone before, and it scared Clara awake instantly.

He had just pulled a 24-hour gaming marathon and planned to nap for a bit, but didn’t expect Quiana to call him now. He shivered all over. "Boss, what do you need?"

Quiana was still driving: "I’ll make it quick. Landon Family’s private jet broke apart mid-air. Before the breakup, coordinates were sent to Charles Foote. I need you to find those coordinates at once, and also get me all surveillance footage from Ardane International Airport."

Ardane International Airport was under Universal Corporation, and could basically be considered Landon Family’s private airport. Normally, nothing unexpected should happen there, yet she felt something was off.

After listening to Quiana, Clara paused for a long time, as if just digesting this information.

"I’ll get you the coordinates and footage as soon as possible."

After hanging up, Quiana returned to Imperial View Manor. She couldn’t just sit and wait, and before Clara could even send her the coordinates, she hacked into Charles Foote’s phone herself and found the data.

She quickly pinpointed the coordinates on a world map. According to the display, the location was—

Yadaga Islet.

...

When Quiana Sutton, Charles Foote, Julian Haworth, and Oliver Gale met at Ardane International Airport, they exchanged glances.

Charles looked at Quiana who had suddenly appeared, paused, then spoke slowly: "Where are you going?"

Quiana: "Yadaga Islet."

Charles’ face darkened. They were all curious how Quiana knew Durrell’s missing coordinates, but wisely chose not to ask.

Besides, even if he wanted to stop her, he probably couldn’t.

Yadaga Islet.

This island had pretty much been forgotten by the world. Though the scenery was beautiful and the history rich, the residents spoke Yadagan, an ancient language. They didn’t trade with outsiders or develop tourism, so the economy was backward.

Julian Haworth felt uneasy after getting off the plane. The writing on the street signs looked like gibberish to him.

"Shouldn’t we have brought a translator?"

Quiana: "No need. I can read them."

Even Charles Foote looked at her in surprise, "You know this language?"

Quiana: "No, I just learned it on the plane."

Charles: "..."

Julian: "..."

Oliver: "..."

Julian couldn’t help blurting out: "Bullshit."

She had been reading on the plane, but there’s no way she could learn an entire language from a dictionary in that time.

Quiana really didn’t have the energy to argue with Julian; she just wanted to find Durrell Landon as quickly as possible.

She didn’t know if Durrell was still drifting in the waters near Yadaga, or if someone had already rescued him.

"Charles, what do you think?"

Charles steadied himself: "Go to the Royal Palace of Yadaga."

Whatever they did, they’d need the royal family’s approval, or they’d get nowhere.

The Royal Palace of Yadaga.

The guards at the gate stopped them naturally. Maybe it was because the four of them were impressive and dignified, none of the guards scolded them harshly—just asked why they’d come to the palace.

Charles answered the guards’ questions respectfully.

Julian was a little put out—he couldn’t understand, but was even more shocked that Charles could speak Yadagan.

He looked at Charles curiously:

"Knight Tamworth, you too?"

Charles gave a short "Mm".

He’d learned a little while drifting around back in the day, enough for basic conversation, but nowhere near fluent.

Julian felt a little useless. Looking at Oliver Gale’s thoughtful expression, he realized Oliver probably understood some too. He squatted down and started drawing circles on the ground, sulking.

After the guards reported in, they were quickly invited inside.

The one who came to receive them was Prince Simon of Yadaga.
