I Want a Divorce Every Day, But the Superstar Says No-Chapter 99: The Beginning of His Desolate World
Julian Haworth watched Quiana Sutton cautiously, expecting her to blow up with anger, but instead, she was extraordinarily calm, so calm it was terrifying, causing his heart to panic uncontrollably.
"Uh, are you okay?"
Quiana Sutton slipped her phone back into her pocket, lightly pressing her lips, the curve on them dim:
"At least you know he might still be alive, right?"
Charles Foote glanced at Quiana Sutton with some surprise, his eyes holding a trace of scrutiny.
For a moment, he couldn’t quite determine whether Quiana Sutton liked Durrell Landon or did not like him.
If she liked him, hearing that her husband was taken away by another woman, would her face remain so unperturbed? If she didn’t like him, would she go to Yadaga in search of him?
...
Yadaga Royal Palace.
Charles Foote still executed a very standard courtly etiquette for Simon.
"Your Highness, thank you for your assistance. The hundred billion funds will be wired to your account immediately upon my return to Capital City."
Simon nodded lightly, his gaze continuously resting on Quiana Sutton, watching her silently.
After a while, he finally asked, "What is your relationship with the rescued man?"
She responded casually, "He’s my husband."
This answer was as expected, and hearing it in person was not that difficult to accept.
It was just a shame she was so young and already married.
He was quite principled and would not involve himself with married women.
His gaze returned to Charles Foote: "Mr. Foote, I hope you remember your promise today."
Originally, he wanted to keep Quiana Sutton around, but now, knowing she was married, his interest diminished.
Now that it was confirmed Durrell Landon was no longer on Yadaga Islet, Quiana and the others did not linger but departed directly for Capital City.
On the plane.
Quiana Sutton remained silent, her deep, ink-black eyes reflecting the surging clouds outside the window, undulating continuously, yet her face showed not an extra expression, almost devoid of warmth, as if a light touch would cause frostbite.
It was Julian Haworth’s first time seeing Quiana Sutton like this; to be honest, he felt a bit unnerved. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
He constantly felt that if he said something wrong, he might be tossed off the plane the next second.
For his own safety, he quietly switched seats, moving to the farthest spot from Quiana Sutton.
Ardane International Airport.
After getting off the plane, Charles Foote said to Quiana Sutton, who still remained silent:
"I will continue to arrange people to look for Durrell. In the meantime, you can stay with the film crew peacefully, so that when Durrell returns, he won’t find you missing."
Quiana Sutton lowered her eyes slightly, her gaze carrying a touch of chill, seemingly unwilling, but she did not refute his words.
On the way to the film crew, she made another call to Clara Hale, asking him to do everything possible to find Durrell Landon’s whereabouts.
...
Three days passed like this.
The people in the film crew did not know exactly what had happened; they only felt that during these three days, Quiana Sutton had become much more intimidating.
Usually, she didn’t talk much, but at least she interacted amicably.
However, in these three days, except during filming, the rest of the time, she was utterly unapproachable.
The director couldn’t stand it anymore; he stepped forward and asked concernedly, "Miss Sutton, since you’ve returned from leave, it seems like you’ve changed into a different person. Has something happened?"
"It’s nothing, Director. Don’t worry. I won’t delay the filming."
Even though Quiana Sutton said it was nothing, the director was still very worried. Her current state resembled a tightly stretched string, and no one could predict if it would eventually snap or return to its original form.
Meanwhile.
In a certain manor.
Durrell Landon lay on a white bed, his consciousness seemingly adrift outside his body, unable to move.
At this moment, he smelled a familiar scent of rose.
This familiar smell brought him deep aversion, and seemingly recalled many lost memories.
He finally remembered everything.
To his father, he was proof of his father’s love with his mother; to his mother, he was the origin of all hate; to his grandfather, he was a disgrace to the family.
His grandfather always kept him locked in the basement, not allowing anyone to know of his existence.
One day, he sneaked out.
It was in the midst of a frigid winter, the snow layered thickly on the ground, and he walked aimlessly on the streets like a puppet, letting the melting snow soak him.
His strange appearance quickly caught the attention of many passers-by, who mocked him with chilly laughter:
"Such a pretty face, probably a fool, right?"
"Who wouldn’t think so? He doesn’t even know to use an umbrella; what else could he be but a fool?"
"With that face, if we sold him, he’d fetch a pretty penny."
...
Suddenly, those mocking voices shrieked: "Ah..."
Turning around, he saw a red figure throwing snowballs at the mockers, causing them to flee in panic.
In this snow-white world, she was the only special existence; the red figure forcefully drew all his attention.
She walked up to him, curiously asking, "Hey, what’s your name?"
He didn’t speak, only quietly looked at her.
Perhaps by then, he had forgotten how to speak.
She saw he didn’t reply, blinked her confused eyes, but didn’t say anything else, merely took off her scarf and wrapped it around his neck, softly saying, "Big brother, go home early; it’s too cold outside."
He didn’t know how long he stood there; he only remembered his gaze constantly fixed on her departing figure.
This figure seemed to be the beginning of his desolate world.
But when he was taken back again, everything shattered and vanished, leaving no trace of that history nor his original memory.
Recalling everything, he slowly opened his eyes, finding himself lying in an unfamiliar place.
He struggled to get off the bed and opened the window. Below, a large patch of roses bloomed abundantly; at their edge stood a crystal pavilion, with a woman inside.
He couldn’t clearly see who the woman was.
Just getting off the bed, he felt his strength drain away, accidentally falling to the floor.
The servant responsible for taking care of him heard a noise, quickly opened the room door, saw Durrell Landon on the ground, and exclaimed, "Master Durrell, you’re awake, that’s wonderful. My lady will surely be delighted to hear this."
