The hidden talent show, for all its chaos, actually had a nice rhythm to it. As a judge, there was a decent bit of time between each act, so I could spin the garapon and receive a gift in that interval. By the time I finished, the next performance would begin almost right on cue, making for a very efficient flow.

And honestly, not being stuck doing just the judging or just the gift receiving helped break things up mentally, it really was a good balance.

As I was thinking that and spun the garapon……

"It’s here! My turn! Okay, Shall-tan, I’m stepping away for a bit, take over, please!"

"Yeah, yeah. Have fun."

Next up was Fate-san. Before Ein-san even had to call her, Fate-san saw the result from the commentary booth and called out to Alice. Moments later, she appeared right in front of me.

[Kai-chan! It’s me, happy birthday!]

[Ahaha, thank you very much.]

Probably on purpose, Fate-san greeted me with the exact same line she'd used at the beginning of the event. I thanked her.

In a way, seeing her genuinely enjoying this kind of event, rather than being annoyed by it, might be one of the biggest changes in Fate-san.

[You’ve been doing the hosting this whole time. Thank you for the hard work, Fate-san.]

[Seriously. It’s not ideal, you know? At this rate, it’s basically guaranteed that me and Shall-tan are going to be the regular MC duo from now on. If this weren’t Kai-chan's birthday, I totally would’ve bailed.]

[That’s just like Fate-san. But honestly, you and Alice make a great team, the pace is smooth, and it’s really fun to listen to.]

[……Hmmm. If Kai-chan's saying that, then I guess I don’t mind doing the MC thing for your birthday from now on. But only for your birthday! I’m flat-out refusing everything else!]

When I praised her, Fate-san responded with a slightly pleased expression.

[Oh right, I gotta give you your present! So here it is!]

[U- Unn? That’s a pretty big package…… But it’s not very heavy…… What in the world is it?]

The package Fate-san pulled out was bigger than I was, seriously impressive in terms of size.

[Remember that cushion Kai-chan gave me before? The one that makes people useless? I went ahead and made an even bigger one!]

[A cushion this size…… That’s pretty insane. I think I could completely disappear into it.]

[I made it big enough for both of us to lie down on together, and it just ended up this size. I did wonder if maybe it was too big, but hey, if you’re not using it, you can just stash it in a magic box so it won’t take up space. So I figured, no need to worry too much about the size!]

Indeed, just as Fate-san said, even a large cushion like this wouldn’t be a problem if it’s stored in a magic box when not in use, it wouldn’t clutter up the room or ruin the aesthetic.

Plus, if it’s stored in a magic box, I could potentially use it while I’m out somewhere too, making it even more practical. And a bead cushion of this size really does look like it would be incredibly comfortable.

[I see…… yeah, lying down on something this size does sound like it’d feel amazing.]

[Right? Let’s sprawl out on it together next time and just laze around~~]

[Ahaha, sounds good. I’ll look forward to it.]

That should’ve been the end of receiving a gift from Fate-san, but then she flashed a mischievous little grin.

[And as your girlfriend, I gotta do something special too, right? So Kai-chan, give me your hand for a sec~~]

[Wha!? Hey, F- Fate-san!?]

I reached my hand out as requested, and after grabbing it, she pressed it straight against her chest.

The action was so sudden I couldn’t react in time, and before I knew it, I had a full grip on her chest. The volume, the softness, the perfect springiness…… wait, no! What the heck is going on!?

[Well, you know, doing something myself feels like a hassle, but I still wanted to make you happy…… so yeah, go ahead and enjoy yourself, okay?]

[Wait, wait! What kind of insane thing are you suddenly……]

[It’s fine, it’s fine. I’ve tweaked fate so no one’s looking this way and no one can overhear us right now…… Well, except for people immune to that kind of thing, but no worries, you’ve got nothing to be shy about. I mean, Kai-chan likes these too, right?]

[That’s…… it’s not about liking or disliking! This kind of thing is, you know, better for when we’re alone together……]

[Ahh, I see~~ Okay then, let’s do it that way next time.]

Hearing my reply, Fate-san readily let go of my hand with a bright, playful smile.

[Alright then, just as Kai-chan asked, next time we’re alone, we’ll pick up where we left off~~]

……Did she just get me to say that!? So that was her real goal…… N- Not that I hate the idea or anything, but it feels like I totally got played here……

And just like that, waving her hand, Fate-san returned to the commentator’s booth…… Hmmm, she really does hit you with completely outrageous moves while wearing the most casual expression. It always catches me off guard.

Well, I mean…… Touching them certainly does feel nice though…… unn.
