I Was The Only Omega In The Beast World-Chapter 56: CP: Learn To Bake?
They left within the hour—packs secured on their backs, the Silver Fang wrapped carefully in soft leather and tucked into Alex’s travel pouch alongside the Black stone and Golden stone . The three divine artifacts hummed together, their combined resonance a steady pulse against Alex’s hip.
Moss met them at the territory’s edge—alone, deliberate, her ancient eyes knowing.
"You’re doing the right thing," she said without preamble. "Leaving now, before roots grow too deep."
"Lucas—" Alex started.
"Will survive," Moss interrupted gently. "He’s survived worse than a broken heart. The Essence is already working—I felt three females come into season this morning. The pack will heal. He will heal." She pressed a small bundle into Alex’s hands.
"Traveling herbs. For nausea, swelling, energy. You’ll need them before you reach bear territory."
"Bear territory?" Naga’s hood flared slightly. "That’s where we’re headed?"
Moss nodded. "If you’re following the pattern of the stones—void, light, fertility—the next would be earth or strength. The bears hold the Bronze stone. The stone of vitality. Has been in their mountain for five generations."
" Bears are practical. Although they are slow-witted. They are very strong. Second strongest tribe in the Beast World by strength. First one is dragon. " Moss continued.
" Easiest way to impress them is through food. They love eating. Especially sweet food like sugar syrup. "
"Sweet food," Alex repeated, filing that information away. "They indeed are bear after all. Even my biology teacher failed to properly describe their extreme love for sweet and high calorie foods. Not a surprise there. "
" Biology_tea_cher? " Moss asked. Her wrinkled face tilting in confusion.
" No. Nothing. Thank you, Moss. For everything." Alex decided to stop before he had to go and describe his interdimensional journey to a illiterate granny.
The old wolf touched his cheek gently—a grandmother’s blessing.
"Safe travels, little bearer. May the ancestors watch over you and the lives you carry."
Then she was gone, disappearing back into the pine shadows like smoke.
They walked in silence for the first hour—putting distance between themselves and wolf territory, between themselves and Lucas’s hopeful, heartbroken eyes.

[Host, I have to say—you’re collecting lovers and suitors faster than you’re collecting divine stones. This is AMAZING content... for me. ]
"You. Not helping," Alex muttered.
[What? I’m just observing! Lucas is probably composing sad poetry about you right now. ♪The mate who got away, my heart howls for thee ♪ ]
"System, I swear—"
[Fine, fine! But seriously, you handled that well. Firm but kind. Didn’t leave him with false hope... except for the part where he said he’d WAIT and you didn’t explicitly tell him not to...]
"What was I supposed to say?" Alex hissed, careful to keep his voice low so Leo and Naga wouldn’t hear. "Don’t wait for me because I’m never coming back? He was gone before I could say that. "
[Cruel but CLEAR. Now he’s going to spend the next however-many-years checking the horizon every dawn like some tragic romance novel protagonist.]
"That’s his choice."
[True! Can’t save everyone from their own feelings. Anyway—BEAR TERRITORY! This should be fun!]
[Current Info:
Bears = second strongest tribe (after dragons, obviously)
Love food, especially SWEETS and high calorie foods
Hold the Bronze Stone (Vitality attribute)
Described as "slow-witted" but that might just be Moss being a wolf supremacist
Located in mountain territory ]
[Recommendation: Stock up on sugar, honey, and anything else sweet. Maybe learn to bake? Bears LOVE baked goods apparently.]
"I can’t bake," Alex said.
[The System Shop has a skill book for that! "Basic Baking: From Terrible to Tolerable" - only 50 SP!]
"Absolutely not."
[Your loss! Imagine impressing a whole bear tribe with fresh honey cakes. They’d probably give you the stone AND adopt you.]
"I already have enough people trying to adopt or mate with me, thanks."
[Fair point!]
Leo fell back to walk beside Alex, concern creasing his features.
"You okay? You’ve been muttering to yourself for ten minutes."
"System’s being annoying," Alex said.
"When is it not?" Naga called from ahead, his serpentine lower half gliding effortlessly over roots and rocks. "What’s it saying now?"
"That we should start collecting sweet food and learn baking to impress the bears."
Leo blinked. "...Actually, that’s not terrible advice. Bears DO love sweets. I spent a summer near bear territory once—they’d trade almost anything for good sugar syrup."
[SEE? LEO AGREES WITH ME! Listen to your mate, Host!]
"We are NOT learning to bake in the middle of the wilderness while I’m six months pregnant," Alex said firmly.
"Okay," Leo conceded. "But maybe we buy some sugar syrup, sweet yams and berries at the next trading post? Can’t hurt to have offerings."
[COMPROMISE! I’ll take it!]
They walked for another hour before Naga called a halt near a small stream—clear water burbling over smooth stones, morning sun filtering through the canopy in golden shafts.
"Rest," Naga ordered. "Drink. Eat. The babies are making you work harder than you realize."
Alex wanted to argue—but his back was aching, and the hatchlings were doing their morning gymnastics routine with particular enthusiasm.
He settled against a fallen log while Leo fetched water and Naga unpacked dried meat and travel food.
[Health Check:
Pregnancy: 24 weeks
Babies: Healthy and ACTIVE
Host Status: Tired but stable
Recommendation: Actually listen to your mate for once]
"I always listen to my mates," Alex mumbled around a mouthful of berries.
"No you don’t," Naga and Leo said in unison.
"You absolutely don’t," Naga continued, coiling beside Alex and offering water. "You push yourself constantly. You take on impossible tasks. You collect divine artifacts while growing six hatchlings inside you—You—"
