I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 62: A Strange Encounter? (edited)
Over the next few days, now marking it as her fifth day in the trial, nothing much happened besides Lillian being put through rigorous training, which had caused her countless injuries.
All of these were nonetheless healed through the magical healing properties of the potion acquired by her system, leaving behind no noticeable evidence of their existence.
This rigorous training included duelling with Marionette to the point her muscles became sore, and her body collapsed from over-exhaustion.
And having her brain feel like it was being put through a blender with how strenuously she used her elements. As much as she wanted to complain about it, she knew it was indeed working.

Wandering through the darkness of the Catacomb, Marionette had decided to put her through the test of fighting against a Catacomb Brawler.
She knew how much Lillian struggled fighting one due to their seemingly impenetrable carapace.
But she also knows that Lillian was most likely to win between the two due to the items she had, which gave her a significant boost.
So, in a way, to make it more challenging and also to put Lillian’s skill to the test, she had decided that she was to...
’Fight with no items... great...’ Lillian thought grimly, clutching the handle of a sword made of water.
Not only had she made significant progress over the few days regarding things such as increasing her stamina by a small percentage, but also being able to create weapons out of water.
While she was able to do it before to a small degree, like that javelin she used to kill that Catacomb Brawler, it was ultimately flawed and less lethal compared to Marionette’s.
Unlike her, she was able to pierce through the tough carapace of a Brawler with seemingly no issues but having to avoid the blood that came from them.
She shivered at the sight of the one she used as a throne. The image of its body riddled with puncture wounds and the pathetic state it was in displayed the overwhelming difference between it and Marionette.
Lillian stared down at her sword, watching as it gleamed and reflected the light from her lantern back into her eyes—a sense of wonder and hope flashing through them.
’I wonder if I’ll be able to make them sharp enough one day...’
The thought of being able to put down a Savage Gnarl with just a flick of her hand is definitely something she would like to be able to do in the future.
She may even possibly be able to do it now...
... Is what she would like to think...
But currently, she was only confident in the fact she may be able to leave a significant wound across the carapace of a Catacomb Dweller.
She still remembered how the Sonata of Revenge wasn’t able to pierce through it entirely. Lillian sighed before hearing the sound of a conspicuous clicking in the dark background.
Lillian glanced around.
’I am going to assume that that was the sound of a Catacomb Dweller smacking its mandibles together.’
And her assumption was correct, for a Catacomb Dweller did, in fact, emerge from the darkness and began to make its way towards her.
’Huh? Wait... why is it walking towards me?’ Lillian tilted her head to the side as she watched it eerily close in on her.
Its steps were slow and quiet.
Its legs were shaking, almost as if it was pulsing with strength and speed that were chained inside it.
Its arms dangling to its side, swinging like a perpetual dark pendulum.
Its brown flexible carapace shone in the presence of the lantern’s depressing light whilst revealing its lean body.
The hairs on its limbs gently swaying in the air.
Its antennas—not showing even the intent of twitching at Lillian’s presence.
Its hooked appendages were also shown to be much pointy like claws, sharper like knives, and narrow like the blade of a sword.
It was like this one was made purely for killing.
That wasn’t the only thing strange about it.
Usually, unless highly hostile, Catacomb Dwellers would always try to be out of range of the light due to its negative effects on them, which she had noted to be subtle spasms and severe irritations around their eyes.
The way it confidently walked towards her reminded her of a Catacomb Brawler more than a Catacomb Dweller.
Honestly, it looked like any other regular old Dweller except for the glaring streak of darkness that seemed to exude out from its missing right eye like smoke.
The dramatic amount of blood dripping down its body, as well as chunks of flesh still fresh. Most likely to have been from something living a few minutes ago.
Broken shards of a brown, rigid, flexible material sticking to the blood like a red flowing robe with badges embroidered on it.
Just before Lillian, it stopped, staring down at her with a curious glint in its last remaining eye. The shadowy smoke rising from its empty sockets stared back with a hint of uncontrollable malice.
Lillian stared back, standing her ground, tightly clutching her sword, watching it cautiously.
The air began to feel stuffy. Heavy. And hard to breathe in.
The light from her lantern seemed to have gotten weaker; it was afraid to spread its light on the Catacomb Dweller in fear it would draw its attention to it.
Their staring contest, seemingly lasting for eternity, eventually ended once it tore its eye away from Lillian and took a sharp left turn, walking away.
After the sounds of its quiet but loud compared to the silent surroundings eventually faded away, Lillian let out a loud exhale, which she was keeping in.
’Alright... that was unexpected... I’m glad it didn’t do anything.’ she thought whilst still in shock at why it just suddenly walked up to her before leaving.
Was it drawn to her light?
’The real question is... what was it?’
She knew for a fact its body was definitely a Catacomb Dweller, albeit with some slight changes.
’I hope it’s not going to be a problem for later...’ she sighed before steeling herself and walking through the darkness in search of a Brawler.
