Chapter 140: COINCIDENCE NOT

"WILL you be alright sleeping on your own, Baekya?" Yun Dujun asked after tucking An Baekya in bed, with Yun Yuhyun in his arms. "Yuhyun is going to sleep in my room. You can join us if you want."

"No, it’s alright, Abeoji," An Baekya declined politely. "I want to sleep alone."

"Alright then. Good night," Yun Dujun said, and then he looked at Yun Yuhyun. "Say good night to Baekya, Yuhyun-ah."

"Good night, Baekya," Yun Yuhyun said. "See you tomorrow."

"Yeah. Good night, Yuhyun-ah."

After that, Yun Dujun went back to his bedroom with Yun Yuhyun.

He tucked his son in bed before lying down next to him.

"Do you want me to read a book for you, Yuhyun-ah?"

"No, Daddy," Yun Yuhyun answered while shaking his head. "But I want to know why Papa isn’t here tonight. You said Papa is with Aunt Gayoung. But why didn’t he come home? Did something bad happen?"

Ah, my son is quick-witted.

"Yes, something bad happened," Yun Dujun said, deciding to be honest with his son because he was smart anyway. "Bad people have trespassed into your papa’s apartment, and those bad people hurt your Aunt Gayoung."

Yun Yuhyun looked horrified by the news. "Then Papa and Aunt Gayoung should move here, Daddy. That apartment isn’t safe anymore."

I know, right?

If only it were that easy.

"I don’t think your papa will live with me anytime soon, but I’m sure that your papa will choose a safer house for you and Baekya."

Yun Dujun couldn’t let Bae Wonyoung bring the kids to that apartment.

It’s not safe anymore since that address has been exposed to my stalkers already. I’m sure others would try to break in just to confirm whether I live there or not. Or just simply look for my traces in that place. That building is going to have a lot of trespassers soon, for sure.

Bae Wonyoung only stayed there tonight because he didn’t have the children with him.

I’m sure he wouldn’t let the stalkers see the kids, especially Yuhyun.

After all, the older Yun Yuhyun grew, the more he looked like Yun Dujun.

My son is, indeed, my carbon copy.

"Daddy, you can’t live with us because Papa hates you, right?"

Ouch.

"Your papa is rightfully mad at me, but he doesn’t hate me," Yun Dujun corrected his son awkwardly. "I hope."

"Whatever, Daddy. Anyways, I have a plan," Yun Yuhyun said, and then he whispered as if they weren’t alone in the room. "I remembered a scene from your movie, and your character in that movie is also hated by his wife. So, he did this..."

Aigoo.

I should really stop Yuhyun from watching my movies that aren’t appropriate for children his age.

***

I’M SO tired.

But, instead of sleeping, Wonyoung continued monitoring the internet while on bed.

He kept using NAVI (South Korea’s G*ogle, aka the company that Yun Dujun’s family owned) to look up Yun Dujun’s name on the internet.

As expected, he did come across a blog post from one of the stalkers.

The stalker had the audacity to post pictures taken inside his apartment. Thankfully, those crazy fans didn’t post pictures of Bae Gayoung.

They probably knew they’d be sued to oblivion if they did that.

Anyway, the stalker also bragged about getting brought to the police station for trespassing and physical assault.

But the worrying part was the message on the blog, of course.

[’We checked out the apartment where Dujun Oppa’s girlfriend supposedly lives. Dang, that girl is ugly, but she sure can fight. We got dragged to the police station, and that’s where the plot twist happened.

Apparently, the apartment belongs to Dujun Oppa’s manager, and the girl living there is his cousin. But it’s kinda hard to believe it since the manager is too handsome to be one. Though he did say that he’s a rookie actor from the same agency as Dujun Oppa.

We tried to look at Hanbyeol Entertainment’s website, but it’s under maintenance. They’ll probably add their new roster of actors once the website returns. Maybe the handsome manager will be there by then?’]

Scary.

It was scary how obsessed these crazy fans were with Yun Dujun’s life.

It’s fine if it’s just me and Dujun Hyung who get harmed in this situation, but I don’t want Gayoung to get involved again.

Hence, Wonyoung reported the blog post again and again, using his burner accounts.

Then he sent a text message to Yun Dujun, with the link to the blog post.

<’Hyung, check this out.’>

Yun Dujun sent a reply quickly.

<’I’ll take care of it, Wonyoung-ah. Thank you for letting me know. Go to sleep now.’>

Of course, Wonyoung didn’t sleep and continued monitoring.

The blog post was up for almost an hour before it was taken down, but he didn’t think it was because of his report.

It’s probably Dujun Hyung.

After all, the Alpha’s family owned Naville Corporation— the company that beat G*ogle and dominated South Korea’s search engine ever since its launch.

They can boost or take down trending topics on the internet.

Whew.

Wonyoung tried looking up Yun Dujun on the internet.

A lot of posts and blogs still popped up since the Alpha was a very popular actor.

However, posts that was connected to the stalker incident had disappeared completely.

Hyung’s family isn’t chaebol, but the power they hold as an internet conglomerate is still scary as hell.

Wonyoung closed his eyes, now feeling tired after relief washed over him.

Dujun Hyung would have been the perfect husband, only if he were more emotionally intelligent.

***

"OPPA, you stayed up all night, didn’t you? Your eye bags are so big."

"I slept a little," Wonyoung said after taking a sip of his coffee. He was having breakfast with Bae Gayoung that morning. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah, I slept like a baby," Bae Gayoung said proudly. "Oppa, my parents are more violent than the girls who trespassed here. Something like that won’t bother me, so you should stop worrying about me too much. I’m no longer a baby."

Aigoo.

"If you put it that way, then I don’t know what to say anymore." Wonyoung sighed and shook his head. "I’ll buy you a baseball bat and a golf club. Put one next to your bed, and the other at the porch. You have a pepper spray and a Swiss knife, right? Always bring them with you. Don’t worry about getting sued for excessive self-defense— Dujun Hyung has access to the best law firm in the country."

Bae Gayoung laughed softly. "I’ll keep that in mind, Oppa."

"Anyways, you don’t have classes today?"

"Nope."

"How about your part-time job?"

"Oh!" Bae Gayoung clapped her hands once as if she remembered something important. "Oppa, there was also a break-in at my work just the other day. Someone stole the new manuscript that I’m supposed to work on. Then the thief also erased the softcopy of the book. That’s why our entire office was at a loss."

"Surely, the writer has the original copy of their work?"

"That’s the biggest problem, Oppa. We can’t reach the writer. But, apparently, that’s normal. This writer would just send their work via email, along with a printed copy of the manuscript. Even their editor has no way of reaching them if they’re already done with their book."

"What a mysterious writer."

"I know, right? It’s a shame because the manuscript seems interesting. I got to read the summary before it was stolen."

"What is it about?"

Bae Gayoung’s face beamed. "It’s about a neglected male Omega, who returned in time to get his Alpha husband and son back from the Alpha’s childhood friend. Apparently, that Alpha childhood friend of his Alpha husband ruined his life in the first timeline to steal his family."

Wonyoung almost choked on his coffee after hearing that from his cousin.

That sounds exactly like my life story!

After all, it seemed like it was Lee Heeju who made Wonyoung go crazy just to steal Yun Dujun and Yun Yuhyun from him.

And then he went back in time.

Well, it was more appropriate to say that he returned to that world inside a ’novel’ after living in another.

But the premise is the same...

And it wasn’t like it was the first time something like that happened.

There was also a manuscript where the premise sounded like An Baekya’s life story, but it also disappeared.

Wonyoung didn’t mind it before because the concept was a common trope.

Yes, turning back time was also common.

However, his gut feeling said otherwise this time.

I can’t brush it off anymore as a mere coincidence.

"Gayoung-ah, can you get the contact details of this writer from the editor in charge of them?"

"That will be a bit difficult, since I’m only a part-timer there, Oppa."

"Please."

Bae Gayoung must have detected Wonyoung’s desperation since her cousin suddenly looked determined to help him with his request. "I’ll do my best, Oppa."

Wonyoung heaved a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Gayoung-ah."

***

"WELCOME back, Appa."

"PAPA!"

Wonyoung smiled when Yun Yuhyun greeted him with a tight hug.

He picked up his son and carried him in his arms.

Of course, he also didn’t take his eyes away from An Baekya as he greeted them back.

"I’m home, kids."

"Have you had breakfast yet, Wonyoung-ah?" Yun Dujun asked. "There’s food in the kitchen. We’ve just had our breakfast, after all."

"Thank you, but I’ve eaten with Gayoung before I left the apartment," Wonyoung said. "Hyung, can we talk?"

***

"SO, I decided to move to a different place since my apartment isn’t safe for the kids anymore," Wonyoung said while he and Yun Dujun were talking over a cup of coffee in the reception room. "Fortunately, the house that you gave me when I married you is near the kids’ school. It’s a gated community, so it should be safer than my apartment."

Yun Dujun nodded, and the Alpha obviously looked relieved.

Hyung really hates the idea of me and the children living in the apartment after what happened, huh?

"That house is safe, and the security in that exclusive village is tight," Yun Dujun said as if he were trying to convince Wonyoung not to change his mind. "Non-residents can’t enter the village easily. And, as you said, it’s near the children’s school. Some of their classmates should be living there as well. So, it will be good for the kids to live in a place where they can easily meet their friends."

That was nice.

The only downside is that the village is far from Baekya’s acting academy. But it should be fine since we have a car.

"When are you planning on moving, Wonyoung-ah?"

"This weekend, Hyung. The kids’ school starts on Monday."

"Then I’ll send an entire team of household staff members to clean the house. There are caretakers who have been maintaining the house, so the cleanup should finish quickly. I’ll also send a team of bodyguards for your security," Yun Dujun said, sounding a bit excited. "I think you could move to your new house by Sunday."

Hmm?

Wonyoung expected Yun Dujun to be a little sad now that he was leaving the Alpha’s house with the kids, but Yun Dujun looked pretty excited?

I wonder what this hyung is planning.

***

BY SUNDAY, Wonyoung found out why Yun Dujun was excited about sending him to his new house.

"Hello. I brought rice cakes."

Yes, the person who showed up in front of Wonyoung’s new house while holding a fancy-looking box of rice cakes was none other than Yun Dujun.

And he even had the audacity to introduce himself as...

"I’m your new neighbor, Wonyoung-ah. I just moved into the house next door," Yun Dujun said, smiling ’innocently.’ "Please take care of me."

Aigoo.

Wonyoung looked at the Alpha in disbelief, especially since Yun Dujun had the audacity to act innocent. "Hyung, did you just buy a new house to ’stalk’ me?"

It was similar to ’stalking,’ right?

"Well, it will be hard for non-residents to enter the village, so I thought I should just buy a house here," Yun Dujun explained casually— obviously unapologetic. "It just so happened that the house next to yours was up for sale and the owners were in a hurry to sell it off, so I immediately bought it."

’Just so happened,’ huh?

Sounds like bullshit.
