I'll Raise My Future Omega Son-in-law-Chapter 149: PSYCHOSIS
"I’M REALLY sorry, Sunbae-nim... I didn’t mean to hurt Yuhyun... I didn’t want to... But I couldn’t stop myself... Please don’t hate me..."
Yun Dujun was confused.
He didn’t know why Bae Wonyoung was crying while begging for his forgiveness, saying that he had hurt Yun Yuhyun.
But I don’t think Wonyoung has physically hurt our son before?
Well, Bae Wonyoung acted aversive towards Yun Yuhyun before, but that was it.
"Sunbae-nim..."
"Don’t cry, Wonyoung-ah," Yun Dujun said, hugging Bae Wonyoung. He didn’t know what exactly was going on, but he needed to console him first. "It’s alright. I’m not mad at you. I believe you— I know you won’t hurt our son on purpose."
He said that because he wanted to calm Bae Wonyoung down.
And it seemed to have worked.
Bae Wonyoung was still crying, but he wasn’t acting hysterical anymore.
"I-I pushed Yuhyun earlier, Sunbae-nim," Bae Wonyoung said between sobs. However, this time, he was calmer than he was a moment ago. "I already told Yuhyun not to touch me without warning. But he did. So, I panicked and pushed him pretty hard. Can you check on him later, Sunbae-nim?"
Oh?
Bae Wonyoung pushed their son?
"Alright, I’ll check on Yuhyun later," Yun Dujun said while rubbing Bae Wonyoung’s back. "Don’t worry about it, Wonyoung-ah. I’m sure our son won’t hate you for that."
"It doesn’t matter anymore since Yuhyun already hates me."
"That’s not true, Wonyoung-ah."
"What do you know, Sunbae-nim? You’re never home anyway."
Huh?
"Ah, can you call Heeju-ssi over?"
"Lee Heeju?" Yun Dujun asked, shocked. "But why do you want Lee Heeju here?"
"What do you mean by that, Sunbae-nim?" Bae Wonyoung lifted his head, looking at Yun Dujun straight in the eye. "Heeju-ssi is the only friend I have."
"Excuse me?"
"Heeju-ssi is the only person who understands my struggles."
Yun Dujun wanted to tell Bae Wonyoung to stop joking.
But his eyes are serious...
Now this was really weird.
However...
"Okay, I’ll call Lee Heeju later," Yun Dujun said. It was a lie, of course. He had no intention of calling Lee Heeju over. "For now, you need to rest."
"But Sunbae-nim..."
"Are you going to meet your friend looking like a mess?"
"Oh."
Yun Dujun scooped Bae Wonyoung up, and his husband didn’t complain.
He looks really tired, after all.
Hence, he quickly tucked the Omega in bed.
"Sleep for now, Wonyoung-ah," Yun Dujun called, covering Bae Wonyoung’s eyes with his hand. "I’ll wake you up when your ’friend’ arrives later." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Bae Wonyoung nodded, and then he quickly fell asleep.
I’m sorry for lying, Wonyoung-ah.
Yun Dujun would call for a neurologist, not Lee Heeju.

AN BAEKYA raised his head when the door opened, and Yun Dujun came out of the VIP Room.
He wanted to ask about Bae Wonyoung’s condition.
But he felt intimidated by how Yun Dujun looked cold at the moment.
And Yun Dujun-ssi’s pheromones are stinky...
An Baekya wasn’t the only one who was affected by Yun Dujun’s mood negatively.
None of them was able to move a muscle.
So, this is how intimidating an angry Dominant Alpha is, huh?
Everyone was frozen in fear except for one.
"Abeoji, how’s Appa?" Yun Yuhyun asked, holding Yun Dujun’s hand. "Can I see Appa?"
Oh, brave.
But, thanks to Yun Yuhyun, it seemed like Yun Dujun calmed down.
"Your papa is asleep, and he’s not in the condition to see you or anyone right now," Yun Dujun said, carrying Yun Yuhyun in his arms. Then the Alpha looked at Grandma Rosa. "Aunt Rosa, please bring the kids somewhere else for their playdate."
An Baekya wanted to complain, but he couldn’t say anything because, as an Omega, he couldn’t stand Yun Dujun’s stinky pheromones.
I need to get away from here.

YUN DUJUN didn’t want to leave Bae Wonyoung’s room, so he called the neurologist over.
Dr. Seong Kyungmin was also there.
He called his doctor-slash-hyung earlier and told him that Bae Wonyoung woke up saying strange things— describing events that didn’t happen.
So, Kyungmin Hyung recommended a neurologist whose patients are mostly Omegas.
When Dr. Kang Song-hwa— a female Omega— began explaining her initial diagnosis, Yun Dujun realized why Dr. Seong Kyungmin recommended her.
"We need to run more tests once Bae Wonyoung-ssi wakes up, but for now, I believe he’s suffering from confabulation. It’s a memory error in which our brains unconsciously fill in memory gaps with fabricated, misinterpreted, or distorted information," Dr. Kang Song-hwa explained. "Confabulation is usually an early sign of dementia. However, in Bae Wonyoung-ssi’s case, I do think it is caused by late-onset postpartum psychosis."
"My husband gave birth to our son five years ago. Actually, it’s almost six years now," Yun Dujun said, slightly surprised by the doctor’s diagnosis. "Does postpartum psychosis really appear that late?"
"It’s not usual, but it happens. Having said that, it’s also possible that Bae Wonyoung-ssi’s confabulation was caused by a traumatic brain injury after he was hit in the head. But we should be open to all possibilities," the female doctor said. "Bae Wonyoung-ssi was in a coma for five years, correct?"
"Yes, Doc. My husband was in a coma for that long."
"When did he wake up?"
"Four, five months ago."
"Then we can assume that Bae Wonyoung-ssi’s postpartum started developing the moment he woke up. So, months later, we can now see how it affects him," Dr. Kang Song-hwa said. "It’s rare for a male Omega to get pregnant, and it’s even rarer for them to safely give birth. Most of them die during delivery. But, even if they survive childbirth, male Omegas still suffer from complications. Their physical bodies and mental health become poor, after all."
Ah, Yun Dujun remembered that his father’s spouse— a male Omega— also went through something like that after giving birth to his older brother.
If I remember correctly, Uncle Hyunjin suffered from postpartum depression.
It didn’t help that it was around that time that Yun Dujun’s mother set her eyes on his father.
Hence, Han Hyunjin’s mental state became worse.
Especially after my mother got pregnant with me.
"So, what can I do to help my husband?" Yun Dujun asked, his voice slightly desperate. He tried not to show his emotions in front of other people, but he couldn’t help it. He was that worried about Bae Wonyoung. "I want my husband to get better as soon as possible."
"Unfortunately, there’s no specific treatment for confabulation. I do recommend cognitive behavioral therapy once we confirm Bae Wonyoung-ssi is suffering from false memories. The therapy will help manage his condition, and it will also help him become more aware of the inaccuracies in his memory," Dr. Kang Song-hwa said. "For now, it’s important not to argue about the validity of his memories."
Yun Dujun knitted his eyebrows. "Doc, are you saying that I should just agree to the false memories that my husband is creating in his head instead of correcting him?"
"Arguing whether the memory he shared with you is real or not serves little to no purpose. Rather than trying to refute his false memories, it’s better to offer acceptance and support."
Yun Dujun didn’t like that.
Am I supposed to let Wonyoung believe that Lee Heeju is his friend?
"To be honest, the recommended approach in cases like this is to address the underlying cause," Dr. Kang Song-hwa said. "If it’s possible to identify the source of Bae Wonyoung-ssi’s false memories, then we can help him get better fast."
Yun Dujun frowned.
Does it mean I need to find out why Wonyoung thinks Lee Heeju is his friend?
***
"ARE YOU going to call Lee Heeju over?"
Yun Dujun clicked his tongue at Dr. Seong Kyungmin’s question.
Dr. Kang Song-hwa had already left, but she told them to call her once Bae Wonyoung was up for a proper test.
Hence, only Yun Dujun and Dr. Seong Kyungmin were left in the VIP Room.
And, yes, Bae Wonyoung was still asleep.
"I don’t want Lee Heeju to know what’s happening to Wonyoung, and I don’t want him to be involved in our family affairs either," Yun Dujun said sternly. "Hyung, do you agree with Dr. Kang’s treatment recommendation? I don’t want to support Wonyoung’s false belief that he is friends with Lee Heeju."
Just the idea of it already made him shiver in disgust.
"Unfortunately, this isn’t my forte, so I can’t give you a reliable answer," Dr. Seong Kyungmin said. "Having said that, I heard from my colleagues in the neurology department that techniques that encourage a person to question what they do and do not remember can be helpful with individuals suffering from memory problems. Apparently, people are asked that way on purpose so they can respond that they do not know something or that they are not sure rather than confabulate a response. Maybe that technique will help minimize Wonyoung-ssi’s tendency to create false memories?"
Ah, that made sense.
However, it still didn’t solve the problem.
"I wonder why Wonyoung thinks that he’s friends with Lee Heeju," Yun Dujun said, sighing while shaking his head. "Why does Wonyoung have to create that kind of memory when he hates Lee Heeju’s guts from the start?"
***
"FANCING MEETING you here, kids."
Aigoo.
An Baekya didn’t expect to meet Lee Heeju that day.
Yes, their group ended up going to the luxury shopping mall owned by Junsung Group— the conglomerate owned by Lee Heeju’s family.
Even so, it was too much of a coincidence for Lee Heeju to be there on a random weekday.
The final evil boss is making a move now, huh?
