I'm an Extra, so What?-Chapter 13: Dragon Queen
Chapter 13 - Dragon Queen
A conversation followed, a series of chirps, growls, and clicks.
The white adult dragon's gaze softened, and its demeanor shifted from one of lethal intent to something softer.
"I see..." it muttered, its voice laced with understanding.
With a slow and deliberate movement, the white adult dragon carefully lowered Luka to the ground.
"Huh... I'm still alive...?"
Luka found himself lying on his back, staring upward, still in a daze.
His arms stretched out limply to the sides as the tension in his body faded.
Snow, now unwrapped from his grasp, took a sharp breath, having nearly been crushed.
Yet, despite that, the little dragon wasn't concerned for itself.
Instead, it let out a worried growl, its small body scampering up Luka's chest.
With frantic urgency, Snow began licking his face, its tiny tongue brushing over his skin in an anxious attempt to comfort him.
Luka grinned weakly, his breath still unsteady.
"Easy, Snow..." he muttered, lifting a shaky hand to pat Snow's head.
The white adult dragon lowered its head slightly. "I sincerely apologize. Had I known you were a friend of my child, I would not have acted so rashly."
A vein twitched on Luka's forehead, dangerously close to bursting. His teeth clenched as frustration welled up inside him.
'If you had just listened to me from the start!' he screamed internally.
Of course, he wouldn't dare say that aloud.
Taking a deep breath, Luka forced a smile and replied, "It's all good. I should have made sure Snow didn't take anything."
The white adult dragon's eyes squinted as it examined him more closely. "Ah... It appears your hit points are dangerously low."
Lowering its massive head further, it closed its eyes.
A soft glow began to shimmer around the tip of the white adult dragon's tail, illuminating the space with a gentle radiance.
Being careful, it tapped Luka's forehead.
A surge of warmth flooded through him, his body instantly feeling lighter, stronger.
The voice of the system then resounded in Luka's mind.
[Healing in Progress...]
[Healed. Hit Points: +10,000]
Luka exhaled slowly, the pain that had wracked his body now completely gone.
He clenched and unclenched his fists, testing his strength.
His exhaustion had vanished as if it had never existed.
Snow chirped happily.
Luka sighed, shaking his head. "Next time, let's avoid the whole 'almost getting crushed to death' scenario, yeah?"
Snow huffed in what seemed agreement, a wisp of cold mist escaping its nostrils.
Slowly pushing himself to his feet, Luka grabbed Snow and carefully placed the little bastard on his shoulder.
Snow nestled in comfortably, its tiny claws gripping his clothing for support.
Taking a deep breath, Luka looked up at the white adult dragon before him.
"Thank you for healing me, Kaida. I appreciate it," he said, the words slipping out before he could stop himself.
Silence...
"You..." Kaida's voice carried a weight that sent a chill down Luka's spine. "How do you know my name, human?"
A deep silence fell over the cavern.
The other adult dragons, who had remained passive observers until now, stirred slightly, their eyes narrowing with intrigue.
Luka's stomach dropped. His face paled as he realized his mistake.
'Shit. Of course, I would know the name of the Dragon Queen... But I didn't mean to utter it aloud!'
Kaida observed him closely, her reptilian pupils narrowing to slits.
"It seems you won't answer," she mused, her voice laced with amusement.
Then, much to Luka's horror, she chuckled—a deep, rumbling laugh that echoed.
"How very interesting, human."
Luka tugged at his collar, feeling a cold sweat forming.
"W-Well... I think it's about time for Snow and me to get out of here, ahaha..." He let out an awkward laugh, already inching toward the exit.
"I'll be sure to visit again."
However, in Luka's mind, the thought was very different.
'Not in a million fucking years am I coming back here.'
Just as Luka turned to make his escape, he felt something coil around his waist.
His breath hitched.
Kaida's tail wrapped around him with ease, lifting him off the ground. She dragged him gently and effortlessly back toward her, her golden eyes gleaming.
"Now, hold on, human," she purred, her massive head lowering until her gaze was level with his. "You've caught my interest. That is an honor."
Luka's eye twitched. He didn't see this as an "honor".
"Also," Kaida continued, her voice turning sharper, "do you truly think you can just leave with my child because you gave him a name?"
Luka swallowed hard. "Umm..."
"Who said I had given you permission?" Kaida's voice rumbled, her golden eyes narrowing.
"Well, I..." Luka stammered, his mind scrambling for an explanation.
Truthfully, he had nothing.
He never expected to awaken these adult dragons in the first place, let alone be interrogated by the Dragon Queen herself.
It wasn't like he had prepared a convenient excuse for this situation.
Luka's eyes darted away awkwardly, sweat beading on his forehead as he struggled to come up with something—anything.
Kaida tilted her head slightly, as if waiting for his response, but before she could speak again...
Snow suddenly stood up.
With a small burst of agility, Snow hopped onto Luka's head, planting himself firmly on the hair.
A low, determined growl rumbled from Snow's tiny throat. "Grrrr..."
Kaida's eyes gleamed dangerously. "What, my child? You dare talk back to me?"
Snow didn't flinch.
Instead, he growled louder, his tiny frame trembling with defiance.
His tail flicked, and he stomped his foot lightly against Luka's head, as if emphasizing his point.
Then, Kaida exhaled sharply, the frost in her breath swirling around her.
She closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again, her expression softening just slightly.
"...Alright, fine," Kaida relented at last, "I'll allow it."
Luka nearly collapsed in relief, but before he could even think of internally celebrating...
Kaida's voice darkened. "However."
She then continued, her words slow and deliberate, "despite my curiosity, I will let you slide away for now. But make no mistake—if you harm my precious child in any way..."
The temperature in the cavern seemed to drop.

"I will freeze the entire world over."
That wasn't a threat—it was a promise.
Snapping into a stiff salute, Luka yelled, "M-Ma'am, don't worry! He'll be completely safe with me!"
Snow attempted to copy the salute, but sadly failed...
"You really are interesting..." Kaida turned away, but just before she took a step, her tail lightly brushed against Luka.
"You seem promising... I will give you this blessing, human..."
